I realize this is the often inscrutable Nintendo of America we're talking about, but I'm not sure why they waited so long after Skyward Sword's release to make these available. And for 900 coins at that, wow.

eBay would definitely be the way to go for me here... if I had a golden wiimote to go along with it, that is.

these cost a lot on ebay, good gift for NA. i wouldn't mind one but not for the money. EU gets the SNES classic controller though

i picked up the gold classic controller pro recently (can often find the goldeneye bundle very cheaply) which also matches up nicely with the zelda remote. matte finish too

I just LOVE my SNES CC. I ADORE the way it is all retro and SNES-y. It makes me reminisce of times before I was born... ahh, those sure were the days! What a great controller, anyone who doesn't have it is surely missing out!

I live in Australia and got 2, they are pricey bveut you have to remember it is hardware and very limited. The select few that were listed on eBay sold for 3x the price of a normal nunchuck over here

Well this is kind of nice but in Japan it's only 600 coins and for us 900 coins so 300 coins more for us? Why does Nintendo of America do this when ever we get a Japanese item like the Game&Watch Collection and almost about every other item we have its always 100 or 200 more coins. In some rare cases its 300 more. Why Nintendo about every item you put on their its from Japan. Why this much for a gold nunchuk there are many other things we would want like the Snes Classic Controller or some game soundtracks. I feel like the fans are getting rip off and Nintendo doesn't care. Heck there already done trying to make more copies of items that we want like the 3DS case they had for about a month am dead serious and that Mario and Luigi 3DS case. Do they even try to make more copies of out of stock items? I'm sure Nintendo of America can get in trouble for doing this because their screwing the fans over heck 900 coins for a gold nunchuk it better be real gold! Heck If I really want an item that badly I'll just buy it off ebay. Screw you Nintendo I'm going on ebay.

I hope this comes to the UK Club Nintendo around November time,beacuse I've just brought one of those Mario Kart Trophy's,and I really want this.

@Sonic1994CD There are some people that felt the best use of Club Nintendo coins was on games as you could buy the item on eBay for less than the cost of spending coins on games (say an item is $20 on eBay but the coins could go toward $30 of games...). Of course the game prices are all over the place (Golf for 150 coins? seriously?) making it harder in practice.

Basically the early years set the high price for items as people had lots of coins. Also the programme has an internal budget so having to ship out less stuff cuts down on that (I wonder how much the Elite Membership items drain). Basically, there is no loss for them for maintaining high prices (if all else fails it ends up in one of those mystery bags). Though the recent drop in value of old games might signify a change. Maybe the middle will get better as too many legacy items in the high end.

In general the reward program Nintendo offer is expensive compared to say McVitie's VIP Club. Let's compare the Tote bags are they should be similar:
Nintendo: 250 coins. So thats what 5 "$50" Wii games so $250.
McVitie's: 30 points. Thats like 6 packs of Digestives or 5 of the Pengiun 12 packs. Which is anywhere for £5-£15 (depending on how well you shop)

Similar number of products but completely different spend needed. Of course its rather silly to buy games just for coins (or if you did you would go for $5 games as a top-up...which would even out the cost) plus if the games are already owned etc the real cost is $0.

Disclaimer: I wouldn't trust the McVitie's bags to hold 20 lbs...nor would I want to test the Nintendo ones.

Expensive. If I had gotten the gold Wii Remote like I wanted I'd get his in a heartbeat. But as is way too expensive for me.

Cool but 900 coins is a bit much. I have the coins for it but I'm not sure if I really want to blow them all on this.

I scrapped up 900 coins for this and now I am fresh out! The lowered values on some of the games took a toll on the amount of coins I'd have otherwise. Here's to a bountiful harvest of more games soon and thus more coins!

I've been waiting for that Heavenly SNES Pro Controller for YEARS along with so many others who haven't had the chance to get this, and instead they release a gold nunchuk some 9 months after Skyward Sword's release? FAACK!

I guess I should consider this progress, except the exceptionally awesome stuff like aforementioned SNES Pro doesn't come here 90% of the time, and we get stuff like shoelaces instead. Oh well, typical Nintendo of America.

Good thing I had 1370 coins, but bad thing I never thought twice before buying it. It's good to get it, but I'm not sure if the nunchuck would be worth my 900 coins...

By the way, I have the Gold Classic Controller Pro (from Goldeneye Wii) and the Gold Wii Remote Plus (from Skyward Sword).

I love how people were moaning because other territories got the Golden Nunchuck, and now that they have it they still moan for tne SNES controller. If it was the other way around we would be hearing "Where is my $%#& Golden Nunchuck!?!!"

But the price is too high. I would rather wait and spend it in games. I am not using up all of my coins on this.

Gamesake's point still stands. This as the Platinum reward (not the gold reward) would have been awesome.

The price is fair (would rather have this than the Game & Watch items), so I'll get one assuming they don't run out before I get enough surveys entered. I think I'm sitting at around 650 coins, but I can definitely get to 900 pretty fast.

That's a bit pricey, especially this far away from the release of Skyward Sword. I'd love to order this, but I'm over 200 coins short and I don't really have a point to get it now that the last game I'll probably be able to use this with is (fittingly) The Last Story. It seems most Wii U games will be using the Gamepad so I probably won't have many opportunities to use it even if I did get the Nunchuck.

@Sonic1994CD I think 900 NA coins are worth about the same as 600 Japanese points. I forget exactly, but I don't think they get as many points per game as we do, and their rewards always seem to cost a lower number of points for the same reward.

Anyway, I managed to get my gold nunchuk ordered tonight. Yay!

Looks pretty cool.... but I'd much rather save and spend my coins on actual games. I know this is "limited" and you can always just use money to buy games, but it's also just a colored nunchuk. If you spend 150 coins to get $10 games (like Mario's Tennis) than those 900 points are equal to about 60 bucks. Would rather just buy another nunchuk and save 40 bucks. But that's me.

@Gamesake: The Gold Race Wheel was never officially made available to North America...I mean, unless you're counting the Japanese Club Nintendo prizes on eBay...

Besides...what would Link ever need a Gold Race Wheel for...?

So glad they're bringing this back tomorrow. Last time I didn't have nearly enough Coins to buy it, but now I can get it immediately on the first day. Why this isn't available in UK is beyond me, but then again, to my knowledge US club.nintendo didn't have a Gold Wii Wheel. I'm not complaining, though, because I prefer MK7 to MKWii, and plus after getting the nunchuk, I would need 700 more play coins for the wheel, assuming that it would also cost 900 coins.
