@Friendly Saints Row 3 is more GTA-like, this one is more of a Crackdown type of game I'd say, from what I've played. Way more action, and sillier.
But ultimately it's still "just" a fun distraction, if you don't want a time-waster maybe it's not for you.

It's completely insane to acknowledge the difference between the state of the game at eshop release and what it'll be for physical release. (even if it still won't be perfect)
I will never understand why they didn't release on the eshop on the same day as physical.

At this point I don't really know what to expect with the series, I feel like they've written themselves in a corner. I hope we'll still get some great classic FF-style turn based RPG in the future from square, but I'm not holding my breath.

@NintendoKnight I recommend NintendoLife's review for some insight, but in my opinion the turn-based gameplay is still the best part of the game. The story and characters sadly feel more like cheap generic placeholders and the story is both very short but yet plays out for too long. Opinions may vary, of course.

If you play your JRPG for gameplay first, I would still highly recommend it.

Most Genesis games are playable somewhere else, and same for a few N64 games. Even Banjo Kazooie isn't that big a deal if you have an Xbox One/series.
For a low price the ease of use would have been interesting.
Also the "year only" contract is way too shady.

We've been begging for a chance to spend our money on a Metroid Trilogy re-release, but I had forgotten the original release was already plagued with low printing.

I still feel we need to thank Sakurai for this situation. Kids in my family haven't played a single Metroid game but they're fans of Samus because of Smash Bros.

We've said "Vita means life" too many times and now we've brought back the beast. This is our fault.
