Man i love that DPad.
Is it handheld only?
Darn! I literally just ordered a Pac-Man one that was supposed to arrive in the mail today!
...Is what I would say if I were into Pokémon, but I'm not, lol. Probably gonna get Shining Pearl for Christmas and finally give Pokémon a fair chance though.
Anyways, I'm excited to try out my Pac-Man Hori controller. I never found the Joy-Con controllers particularly uncomfortable or unreliable, I just... I really like Pac-Man and thought it looked sweet.
Wish they made a larger Switch case to accommodate it, though. I know there's one you can order off Amazon that's big enough for the Split Pad Pro, but it's made by another company and looks super generic. No decoration, just solid black. Pretty lame. So will probably only use the Split Pad Pro around the house.
I also heard you can't dock them with an OLED Switch, which also sucks. Not that I own one, but if I do, might be a bit annoying.
I don't know how to end this comment, so uh... I'm just gonna reiterate that I love Pac-Man. Excited for Museum+ next year and hope a Pac-Man World trilogy follows shortly thereafter. Yeah... Haveagooddaygoodbye.
@The-Chosen-one I'm pretty sure they're handheld-only, yeah. From what I've read/watched, they don't use batteries, so they literally only work when they're connected to a Switch. I should have one waiting for me in the mail, hopefully. I can get back to you on that.
Dear Nintendo, please allow this to be the new Switch Pro Controller and include all of the features so I can gladly pay that inflated price for this.
After some consideration I went with the Binbok controller. Waiting for it to be delivered and hoping it works as well as some reviews say. The Split pad pro has too many missing features for my liking.
The adventure pack looks sick as hell. Im considering buying it.
@The-Chosen-one As other have said it is handheld only. But if you love it, Hori will be releasing a new tool that transforms those joycons into a wired controller.
More info on that:

@neufel
O wow! Thats great. Is there any word when they will release it?
As it is now the controllers are def worth it.
DPad is perfect for fighting games.
Thanks for the info.
neufel thanks for info on that These look awesome i hope the game will be the same.
Why is there no such Pad or "Joycon" that has the D-Pad parallel to the Action Buttons?
Recently bought a splitpad and very happy, is there a bag available which fits switch + splitpad comfortably?
@chiptoon
I had to send one set back for button issues, but the second pair work great. All the features you could want and they are pretty comfortable. Really dig the analog sticks on 'em.
@Not_Soos i jsut got the pacman one as well (10 euros cheaper on a amazon that all the splitpads on all shops), the feeling is incredible, it makes handheld mode so much better.. the switch never really feld comfortable like the vita for me, but this... enjoy your first split game!
@WhiteTrashGuy I have the Pad Pro too after getting sick of 3rd time joy-con drift.
I like it a lot, the only small gripe I do have with them is lack of any rumble functionality.
@romanista same thing here, Split Pad Pro makes the Switch so much more comfortable in portable, compared to regular joy-cons.
And I agree about the Vita, that system is a perfect fit in my hands.
Never looked back since I got a split pad pro. The Butterfox case which stores the Switch with them attached (and even fits my OLED model) has completed the handheld setup.
Don't use Amibo or gyro. Don't care about rumble when 80% of what I play on Switch are retro games (mostly shooters) and indies. Already have a pro controller and 8bitdo Pro 2 for docked play.
The adventure pack looks pretty sleek.
@romanista I got one off Amazon it’s made by butterfox fits the switch with the split pad pro connected and I think 12 games has a cover inside to protect the screen it’s excellent cos I no longer have to disconnect the pad to store it
How can they call that a Pro controller when "Does not include Motion Controls, HD Rumble, NFC, or IR camera"?
The lack of gyro specifically kills it for me as shooters are so much better with gyro.
@chiptoon You won't regret it😁
There are a few alternatives to this now, with rumble, gyro and wireless. Mine has LEDs around the joysticks, that you can choose the colour for.
Should have waited. I bought a 2nd one which was the Pacman version and its great but I like this better.
I’ll keep my eyes on that adventure pack, would be nice to have a cool looking pack that neatly carries my Switch, dock, and accessories. Most of my friends don’t have Switch’s but still want to be able to play Smash and Mario Party so it would be nice to not be stuffing everything in a backpack covered in old t-shirts for protection. It would also be nice for short-distance traveling when I visit my parents.
Nice! I might pick up that vault case for my Dialga and Palkia Lite.
@Gs69 thanx, that one was sold out but found this one, moon styled... https://www.amazon.nl/gp/product/B08G8K381V
@romanista that’s actually pretty cool looks like it’s better quality to be honest but whichever one you get will be great for the simple fact you can just put it in the case and away you go
@Rayquaza2510
No, I have the Binbok ones. Both the small and large. Just saw these new ones last night by Mobapad, you should check those out!
Pacman and Megaman versions are my favourite of this amazing Controller.
Really baffled that Nintendo doesn't make better joycons without the rounded sticks and with an actual D-pad (you know the thing they practically invented). Hori split pads are really great though so maybe Nintendo doesn't feel the need to make their own in lieu.
