Hey all, does anyone also have problems finding Enter the Gungeon discounted? I wonder if it's a date thing, but its discounted price is already live on EU PSN. If anyone has info on it...
@Darknyht My sentence "it's about ethics in video games journalism" had a bit more meaning than just "is it cool for a website to repost something" though.
I'm sure you know what I mean, especially re: kingdomheartsfan's disingenuous comments in this whole section.
@TheAwesomeBowser Yeah you're right, if you think Blizzia or me thought this was an argument even though we both said multiple time "chill, dude", I probably should move on.
@TheAwesomeBowser I literally haven't said that. Dude, you either want to start flamewars about nothing and that's kinda sad, or you need to chill out.
I said that a company porting its games and IPs to new consoles has nothing to do with port beggars and everything to do with that particular company financial prospects.
If you truly think the suits at Atlus said "man, we wanted to make a new game but I've seen 12 people on twitter ask for a port... better do what they tell us... man that sucks... but what can I do... port beggars already killed my brothers when I didn't port Persona 3 on the N-Gage... damn..." well... you're a funny guy.
I can't believe I've just replied to someone who post "So basically you're saying" + complete nonsense no one said. I need to check my priorities.
@TheAwesomeBowser You're right this port was created only because of people asking for more games, and was done against the will of the IP holders. Damn you, all powerful port beggars. Come on, chill a bit. A company has the right to port their own games wherever they want.
@adh56 It's really cool. If you've bought an NES classic or an SNES classic, that means you can play your Nintendo Online games with those controllers !
@geox30 I'd kiss you for this post. I mean, it almost costs as much as the controller itself, but that's helpful. Too bad I already bought the non-usb 8bitdo adapter for PS4-Wii U controllers
@adh56 If you already bought the SNES Mini Hori fighter pad, you could technically also buy the 8bitdo gbros that allows wii classic/nes mini/snes mini controllers to work with the switch.
But both use batteries, so you will feel stupid connecting a wireless controller to a wireless adapter.
I already own the Mini one for PS3... as they're all USB, it makes double dipping feel silly.
I mean, I know Nintendo will not make the Switch able to recognize playstation input but come on. I'm not gonna buy two identical sticks because of button mapping on USB D:
@Kainbrightside Usually it's a question of funding, as the developer is financed by a publisher + possibly being on the stock market. The indie is just like that: independent. Either doing work for hire for multiple publishers (like Wayforward does with Adventure time and Marvel games) or publishing things themselves or with some help (Wayforward with Shantae or here Chucklefish).
So yeah, if they're not bought and do not become subsidaries of a publisher, they are indies.
But the difference between the two is getting harder to see, as some indies are also technically publishers! Like Chucklefish themselves who publish Stardew Valley. But Stardew is still an indie as the devs do not work for Chucklefish, this was only a partnership between two indies (from what I understand) to get the game out.
@erv It's beautiful, it's pretty hard but it gives back a lot.
Crawled back on the 2018 GOTY list on some sites after already being on those in 2017 just because of the 2018 Switch release.
'nuff said.
@Fuz Both are made by M2 so you can expect the same quality overall.
As of the features, you lose 3d of course.
But the everything else seems present:
switch between new and old game version
change difficulty
change time limit
switch between mph & km/h
multiple transmission modes
Display has a full mode, widescreen mode and an arcade mode that puts a (pixel perfect?) 4/3 screen inside the old arcade cabinet so you can feel like playing the actual game. This is pure M2 goodness. You can even choose between the different cabinet styles that were available over the years.
For the physical release, I don't get the hype for postcards... I mean, you're not gonna send them, are you supposed to look at them every few months and say out loud "ha, this was a good object I bought, yes. Good."
@SwitchForce Not the same from what? If you create a magic difference between bargain bin / sale, don't blame me. What I can tell you is that the Starlink battle standee is in the shop, and it's the only standee in the shop where several -50% stickers were put on. Doesn't scream "normal and healthy sale, expect normal prices to come back at the end of the sale".
Anyway, I only did a silly mean joke. Don't get too riled up on this my dude
@Anguspuss Yeah it's crazy. FNAC also has everything at half-price until december 31, but what seems even crazier is that mediamarkt sells the whole line for the same price as FNAC & Gamestop, yet doesn't advertise it as a sale. 50% off is their "normal price". That makes me think the prices won't go up in the other retailers either.
@mist I don't know... the GBA SP came out 2 years after the GBA. The DS lite came out 1.5 years after the DS The DSi XL came out 1 year after the DSi The 3DS XL came out 1.5 years after the 3DS
That's not an Apple thing, it has been a Nintendo thing for a long time too.
@Prizm If you want to know how the playstation classic compares to the original playstation, I recommend you watch Digital Foundry's analysis on it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UU0dn9pRKuw
Basically, they said the emulation was so poor, it could hurt our perception of "how games were back then". So yeah. Emulation is worse than original hardware in this case.
"we're making most of our sales during Christmas season, please stop asking me if people should wait until next year to buy a new model, we need to make our numbers here."
@infernogott You can, but you will miss the screen capture and home button. Also, there's only 3 shoulder buttons, not 4 like on switch. And who could forget the minus button, as there's no select on the gamecube. And finally, the clickable joysticks.

@KennyBania I should have said "seeing people still say snowflakes makes me yeet" sorry

@KingdomHeartsFan
Ah yes of course, going straight from "I don't care about what you think" to "hehe you stalk me wink wink".
Do you know you can also chill and stop being so antagonistic with everyone?
We are still talking about the removal of 2 one liners in a game, dude.

Re: Rumour: Dataminer Uncovers SNES Games For Nintendo Switch Online

That would be a good move. Let's hope it will happen soon.

Re: Gain Ground And Puyo Puyo Join The Sega AGES Line-Up On Switch Next Month
I thought we'd get Space Harrier soon, but those two are nice.
I hope M2 will deliver on some classics which never got re-released like Crusader of Centy.
Does anyone know why it's nowhere to be found? I thought Sega owned Nextech.

Outrun is day 1 minute 1, because SEGA needs to publish more of those.
Bury me my love, because I hate playing on my phone. Even literal phone games. (But I heard the QoL are good on Switch)
Re: Looks Like Retro-Bit Is Resurrecting Sega's Switch-Like Handheld, The Nomad
Yeah, at last year's CES we were promised Bluetooth dreamcast controllers for 2018. No info since.
I think retro-bit should try to present their products a bit later in the dev cycle.

Re: This Custom Game Boy Cartridge Turns Your Old Handhelds Into GameCube And Wii Controllers
@Bunkerneath
The game boy TX card wouldn't work on DS, just like a regular game boy cart.
However, the creator seems to be working on a GBA one (with L+R input support). This one should work with a DS.
