Re: Random: Someone Cloned Axelay On The NES, Because Why Not

nesrocks

It looks exactly like the Axelay effect, with the exception that it doesn't have a fog near the horizon. The background manipulation looks spot on. Can anyone who disagrees please elaborate why you do so? It is the background stretched vertically at different amounts depending on the scanline height on the screen, with no stretching being done horizontally.

Re: Feature: Creating A New Generation Of Indie Gems With YoYo Games' GameMaker Studio 2

I've been making a game with GMS2 and many people tell me "it would be perfect on the switch!". I'll try to do it sometime after launch, but as a really really small developer it's hard to pay for development costs AND the license AND the switch devkit. That may be good though because it keeps that trash away. Anyway, a little advertising, follow me on twitter ^^ https://twitter.com/bitinkstudios

Re: Feature: What Does Nintendo's Shutdown Of ROM-Sharing Sites Mean For Video Game Preservation?

There are countless games that area DEAD now. Youtuber Ross addresses this well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tS9vvF1V1Dc . Mostly, games that are online only, or online multiplayer or that require an online authentication can and are shutdown by the publisher at any time and there is nothing anybody can do about it. It`s a pretty serious issue. More serious than shutting down ROM sites because not even PIRACY can fix it.

Re: Nintendo Under Fire For Not Improving Supply Lines And Sourcing Minerals From Conflict Zones

I don't get it. What's the alternative? Not to buy from Africa? I bet that would be worse for their economy since it's less international money going in. Or would it be better to try to force African suppliers to do things correctly by current other parts of the world standards? In that case wouldn't their price necessarily go up thus making African supplies become less competitive, making them lose the business anyway? And how would you force that? I'm genuinely asking, I don't know this issue in particular, just trying to analyse it from a realistic perspective. It seems possible that the solution isn't to simply boycot companies, you could be hurting those you're trying to defend. Unless I'm wrong and they could change easily. edit: okay I read it again and it seems that the problem isn't the slave-like line of work per se, but the funding of armed conflict.

Pushing Onwards is the greatest videogame song of all time. How dare you call it "simple"? Wait, I mean Potential for Anything. Or was it Passion for Exploring? Predestined Fate? Positive Force maybe? Yeah, they are all tied for the title. Man I love Potential for Anything so much. This song is amazing.
