Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 13th)

Let’s see....it has been a 1st party platformer weekend. I finished all the courses on Yoshi’s Crafted World, played through a bit of Mario 2 Japan, beat Mario 2 US, and played a few levels of Yoshi’s Wooly World and Yoshi’s Story. Tomorrow i’ll probably work on New Super Luigi U and continue my journey in Blaster Master Zero 2.

I don’t really approve of misleading people, but I have to say, this nitpicky BS regarding the graphical fidelity of the Switch version has been above and beyond the extreme. The game looks and plays just fine. You can’t expect a handheld Switch game to be on par with XBox X/PS4 Pro versions. I’m personally thrilled that this series has finally seen the light of day on a Nintendo console.

My brother and his wife has a 7 year old daughter. Neither of whom are really gamers. But the wife buys the latest installment of Just Dance on Wii every year. For Christmas, the daughter said she wanted video games because the only time she really plays them is on vacation in summer when her uncle brings his Switch. This resulted in a sale of Mario Kart Wii for her. Plus, I bought her dad an NES Classic for Christmas which I knew he would appreciate!

Re: Guide: Every Nintendo Console Ranked From Worst To Best

So much of this depends on one’s age and what game genres you’re into. And most people have a bias towards portability or home console. That said, my list is not factoring in any VC games or backwards compatibility, but rather, exclusive titles and contemporary 3rd party titles; the sheer amount of time that I enjoyed and had fun with a system’s library, the start and/or growth of quality franchises, and simply the amount of excellent games:
1.NES
2.Switch
3.SNES
4.N64
5.Wii
6.Wii U
7.Gameboy
8.Gamecube
9.3DS
10.DS

Re: Random: New York Times Crossword Puzzle Forgets That The Wii U Was A Thing

Apparently the producers and/or writers of Fuller House remember Wii U fondly. The new season just came out on Netflix and in the first episode, the Fullers discover five year old Christmas presents that were hidden away by their deceased father. One of them was a Wii U, to which a kid said, “wow, that’s what I really wanted when they still made them!”

After getting to the Metroidvania part of The Messenger, I’m finding this part of the game a little too obtuse and disappointing compared to the linear action part of the game. Thus, I’ll probably play some different stuff this weekend- a nice variety:
For Switch- Neo Geo Cyber-Lip and Old School Musical
For 3DS- Metroid: Samus Returns
For Gamecube- Super Monkeyball 2 and Mario Golf Toadstool Tour

Taking a break from Switch, just for this weekend, for an N64/GameCube marathon! Some of the titles i’ll be playing are Wave Race: Blue Storm, Ms Pac Man Maze Madness, Super Monkey Ball 2, Mario Party (the first one), Mario Kart Double Dash, Mario Power Tennis, NFL Blitz, Dr Mario 64, and Pilotwings 64
