I think you guys might be taking this game a bit too seriously. It’s all a bit of a joke really, the funny tone in the writing is what makes this game.
This weekend I am trying out both Crash Team Racing and Team Sonic Racing to get a feel for both. And continuing my journey in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu (my first ever Pokemon experience). Also, some Picross S3.
I didn’t mind that they went back to strictly road racing in this game as I hated the controls of the flying portions in Transformed. The lack of other Sega characters is disappointing, however, but not a dealbreaker.
Everybody seems to forget when comparing to the Wii U/3DS era- yes, Nintendo has just one machine now, but that handheld stream has been replaced by the mobile stream which has been pretty successful, and they will be adding streams for movies and theme parks soon.
Let’s see....it has been a 1st party platformer weekend. I finished all the courses on Yoshi’s Crafted World, played through a bit of Mario 2 Japan, beat Mario 2 US, and played a few levels of Yoshi’s Wooly World and Yoshi’s Story. Tomorrow i’ll probably work on New Super Luigi U and continue my journey in Blaster Master Zero 2.
You don’t have to love everything the media tells you to; I for one don’t like the Mortal Kombat series, Axiom Verge, or even Celeste. But i’m no more wrong than they are right.
Bandai Namco, are you watching? You have a golden opportunity to be the one publisher to do arcade racing right on the Switch, and make a pretty penny off the sales of a Ridge Racer revival. We are anxiously awaiting Ridge Racer 2020!
My guess is there will probably be physical releases later, but they’re gonna make as much money as possible on digital first before even hinting at physical.
I used to play Brawl on Wii with the Wii remote’s d pad. I preferred it, to the point that it took me a long time to get used to a stick on Smash Wii U.
I don’t really approve of misleading people, but I have to say, this nitpicky BS regarding the graphical fidelity of the Switch version has been above and beyond the extreme. The game looks and plays just fine. You can’t expect a handheld Switch game to be on par with XBox X/PS4 Pro versions. I’m personally thrilled that this series has finally seen the light of day on a Nintendo console.
@Euler As much as I don’t want to open up this can of worms..... exactly how is Cenk Uygar a genocide apologist? If anything, I would say he is the opposite of that.
This weekend the main course is Spyro Reignited Trilogy on PS4 with a side of NSMBU Deluxe on Switch, and for dessert a little Smash Ultimate “Classic a la mode”. My beverage of choice will be a vintage Sega Ages brand known as Outrun.
When I first turned the game on, I just sat through the opening sequence listening to Lifelight and at the end of it, I was in tears. This song is like a culmination of every warm feeling and the utter epicness that is the whole Smash Bros phenomenon. Pure Nintendo magic in audio form.
My brother and his wife has a 7 year old daughter. Neither of whom are really gamers. But the wife buys the latest installment of Just Dance on Wii every year. For Christmas, the daughter said she wanted video games because the only time she really plays them is on vacation in summer when her uncle brings his Switch. This resulted in a sale of Mario Kart Wii for her. Plus, I bought her dad an NES Classic for Christmas which I knew he would appreciate!
Smash, Starlink, and Horizon Chase Turbo are my top 3 for Switch....followed by Super Mario Party, Mario Tennis Aces, DK Tropical Freeze, Mega Man 11, Runner 3, Hollow Knight, and Dragon Ball FighterZ
So much of this depends on one’s age and what game genres you’re into. And most people have a bias towards portability or home console. That said, my list is not factoring in any VC games or backwards compatibility, but rather, exclusive titles and contemporary 3rd party titles; the sheer amount of time that I enjoyed and had fun with a system’s library, the start and/or growth of quality franchises, and simply the amount of excellent games: 1.NES 2.Switch 3.SNES 4.N64 5.Wii 6.Wii U 7.Gameboy 8.Gamecube 9.3DS 10.DS
Apparently the producers and/or writers of Fuller House remember Wii U fondly. The new season just came out on Netflix and in the first episode, the Fullers discover five year old Christmas presents that were hidden away by their deceased father. One of them was a Wii U, to which a kid said, “wow, that’s what I really wanted when they still made them!”
Working through Megaman Legacy Collections after beating 11 recently. Currently on Megaman 5. Trying to get through them all before Black Friday when I will start Starlink!
After getting to the Metroidvania part of The Messenger, I’m finding this part of the game a little too obtuse and disappointing compared to the linear action part of the game. Thus, I’ll probably play some different stuff this weekend- a nice variety: For Switch- Neo Geo Cyber-Lip and Old School Musical For 3DS- Metroid: Samus Returns For Gamecube- Super Monkeyball 2 and Mario Golf Toadstool Tour
Taking a break from Switch, just for this weekend, for an N64/GameCube marathon! Some of the titles i’ll be playing are Wave Race: Blue Storm, Ms Pac Man Maze Madness, Super Monkey Ball 2, Mario Party (the first one), Mario Kart Double Dash, Mario Power Tennis, NFL Blitz, Dr Mario 64, and Pilotwings 64
It would be really something to get Crash Bandicoot in Smash. PS1’s poster boy representing for Nintendo would pretty much make all the bases covered....
Hoping to beat Mario Tennis ACES adventure mode finally, and try out Blooper. Then a little Picross S2 and FighterZ demo if the cable man can fix my Internet today before the beta ends!
Uh oh. The addiction is back! My first Picross experience was S1 on Switch and I poured so much time into it until I completed everything. This is a definite for me.
Really hoping for multiple volumes of this on Switch. There are so many great Namco titles that are missing, and tons of better Pac Man titles that could be released.

Trials Rising and Labo VR this weekend. Probably focus on creating the camera and playing around with it this time.

Is it too soon to add Yoshi’s Crafted World to the list? It’s quite good. Maybe not top 25, but definitely a good one.

As long as they’re focusing on early arcade games, I hope they see fit to bring arcade perfect Afterburner and perhaps even Congo Bongo.
