Re: Review: Pokémon Rumble World (3DS eShop)

@Bass_X0 I... know. That's not even what I said... I said you shouldn't complain about a game you paid nothing for because you shouldn't feel like you're owed anything. You paid nothing for what's actually a decent game compared to other free to play games yet people are still moaning. About what? You can't expect something that's free to be as good as something that you pay £30 or more for, that's just ridiculous. If you want a better game that's similar, pay £30 (or less, as it probably is by now) for Super Pokemon Rumble instead.

@alasdair91 Oh no, I know, I live in the UK too. The games still sell like mad when the prices drop though, I mean, we managed to sell the original games PS3 starter pack, complete in box, for £15 in the charity shop I work in a matter of weeks ago and, well, why would anyone in their right mind still charge between £13 and £15 for it anyway if it didn't sell anymore? They'd just send it back to the manufacturer or throw it in the bin.

Re: Infinity Runner is Dashing Towards a 24th March Release on Wii U

I was really interested in this, especially since it features a werewolf (we seriously need more good games that do that). Until I saw reviews that pretty much all said it's crap. I mean, being a firm believer of not just following what reviewers say like sheep, I'd still give it a try if it was really cheap or there was a demo or something but those reviews did severely diminish my interest.

Re: Man-Made Pokémon Magiana is Revealed, to Star in Upcoming Movie

kamifox1

Why's everyone using modern (as far as the in-game timeline is concerned) man-made Pokemon as a comparison? They said 500 years ago, as far as I know, no previous man-made Pokemon was created that long ago... I imagine it being more like some "ancients who are actually aliens" or something like that type of backstory.
Personally, I love it and fail to understand why people hate more recent designs because of them being more detailed? Maybe it's just because I like Digimon which are far more detailed than Pokemon anyway but I see it as a good thing from a design standpoint, makes them appear far more creative and imaginative than literally a different coloured real creature with a few extra things stuck on.

As a side note, is anyone else having a really hard time getting used to the new layout? I keep getting confused as to who people are replying to for some reason.

@cormano I think you were looking for Tomadachi Life. Not sure how you ended up here instead but maybe read the article before commenting? I mean, to my knowledge, the game the article talks about has no marriage system nor is such a thing mentioned here.

Re: Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow 2DS Bundles Confirmed for Europe, New 3DS Bundle Coming to North America

@russellohh When I mentioned looks, I meant the overall look not the fact it doesn't fold up. If we're talking about things that don't fold up, I'd be more inclined to compare it to the Gameboy Color or original GBA, actually. I haven't seen a single tablet or modern phone that looks that much like a toy aside from the ones that are aimed at small kids.

I will agree, however, that the XL is the most uncomfortable unless the user has big hands like my friend who owns one does (he has the opposite issue, smaller models cause hand cramps due to his large hands). It's stupidly heavy and far too large and cumbersome.

@Kaze_Memaryu I also forgot to say, Namco are so incompetent with fighting games, both games are highly acclaimed by both critics and players alike, with, again, a very loyal and strong following containing a very large amount of people. I really don't see how you can claim incompetence when, time and again, their games achieve high scores and are highly praised. They're clearly doing something right otherwise they'd have the same notoriety as, say, the Sonic franchise and SEGA as a whole of late.

Anyway, I feel this controller looks pretty neat and comfortable, depending on the size, albeit with slightly cheap looking plastic. I also feel it could be a pretty nice collectable since it's a replica of the ones on the arcade machines (something some people here seem to have failed to notice), much like how the Power Glove is now despite it being an awful piece of tech.

Re: Feature: What We Expect From the Super Smash Bros. Final Video Presentation

kamifox1

I'm really hoping to see Klonoa at last, especially since Namco already have a presence this time around. Failing that, I'd like to see Eggman as a playable character, that way Sonic gets a hero and a villain on his second appearance. I also feel Eggman would just be a really interesting character for the devs to play with and he's already shown he's capable in battle since he's almost always a boss character himself. Ok, so he never really wins, but he still presents a decent enough challenge!.

Re: A Version of the Pokkén Tournament Arcade Controller Will Be Made for the Wii U in Japan

@Kaze_Memaryu First off, fighting games are always far better with the D-pad, any avid fighting game player will tell you that.

Secondly, there's a very large Tekken and slightly smaller SoulCalibur following that begs to differ on your constant belief that Namco are in any way incompetent when it comes to fighting games. As I'm pretty sure I already explained to you before, no fighting game can ever be perfectly balanced, that would defeat the whole point and make the game boring while every character would just be a reskin with a different set of animations. The whole point in fighting games is to learn each characters strengths and weaknesses and overcome them in order to win, remove that and you have a mindless button-masher with no gratification or skill involved. Tekken and Soulcalibur, Namcos two primary fighters, pull this off (almost) perfectly, albeit with a few stupidly cheap characters people hate (I'm looking at you, Maxi, Nightmare, Jinpachi and Azazel, to name a few... T_T) but the many outweighs the few.

Re: Video: Enjoy Some Pokkén Tournament Mayhem in This Two Minute Showcase

kamifox1

@Spin Tekken tag Tournament 2 would actually be your best option if you want to play an easier Tekken to get you started. Just, for the love of God, don't touch the Combot Lab mode. The rest of the game, while still having the large movesets to learn, is designed to be more of a pick up and play type of fighter and is still relatively easy to play without learning any movesets.

Re: Make Your New Nintendo 3DS Cuter With Yoshi Cover Plates

kamifox1

@GunplaGamer Ah, well, in fairness, you guys only just got the standard New 3DS whereas we've had it since launch yet we still have the issue I already mentioned... What's worse is the launch selection's not very good either, unless you like Mario and/or really plain, dull patterns... Only good one out of the launch ones is the OR/AS one and I don't even see that in stores anymore, I need to replace mine.
