This is such a lazy way of making pokemon available.

I honestly don't have a Zygarde yet, so I'll be keeping a lookout for the NA distribution, if and when it happens.

now i have two Zygarde in my pokemon X copy now! lol!

I didn't notice anything special about the Zygarde. I'll still download a free legendary, but it's not as good as what Japan gets what they could give out.

Sigh Wrong side of the pond once again. Hope this hits North America.

The thing that interests me most is the original trainer name, which is Descartes. I wonder if it's named after the philosopher René Descartes, or if it has other meaning, or if it was just picked for no reason.

It seems people don't know why this was distributed. To clarify, it was given in Japan to celebrate the Pokémon XYZ anime with the XY mascots Yveltal & Xerneas being shiny at level 100 distributed too. We'll eventually get the two as Spain is due to get the trio earlier.

Pretty much saying, 'hey Zygarde and it's forms are in the next game to guarantee you can use them we'll give you a free zygarde to use in Sun/Moon' perhaps it will be hard to catch or perhaps it isn't available in Sun/Moon who knows. But they wouldn't give a Pokémon you can already catch in game for no reason it has some kind of Alternative motive!

@DoctorOverbuild I think there was a previous event or something where you got a Pokémon in a previous game and then it made something happen in a new game...

I can't remember which game or what Pokémon it was, but I am sure that one event did that...

@Alundra-1998 Suicuine Entie and rioku! You downloaded them in HG/SS and transfered them to black and white and got Zoroark! You just reminded me thank you for that! Yeah that's what I think is happening with Zygarde!

I just caught a Zygarde in my copy of Y a few weeks ago. Cool to see it as a gift Pokemon though.

I was thinking of the Ruins of Alph Arceus event.

I guess they're giving out Zygarde again since a lot of people probably traded theirs away when X and Y came out thinking it was "useless". Edit: Apparently everyone can get this event, which is kinda strange.

EDIT - you're right exactly! And try made no mention of that doing anything in later games just kinda gifted like now!

I don't even understand why though, most people own X and Y, and it doesn't even have any exclusive moves like Thousand Arrows, so why would you distribute this?

@DoctorOverbuild It is a possibility, but what would be the point of having an event only version activate it? It doesn't make sense as there is no real difference from the in game one.

@kamifox1 The most likely hypothesis is that they won't reveal shiny Zygarde yet as it hasn't been shown in the anime in any of its percentage forms and it being presently shiny locked in XY.

Can you get this in Australia?

@themac2001 you gotta appreciate the fact many young people played X and Y as their first games Gamefreak made it very accessible. However Zygrade was kinda hidden in the game I'm sure many young players skipped it. And the more veteran players may have just picked up oras therefore unable to get Zygrade! Pretty much gamefreak wants everyone to have a zygarde for the next game.

@DoctorOverbuild hmm, your probably right tbh, but i don't understand why young people would miss it. when i was younger and used to play pokemon with my friends in primary, one of us would always hear a rumor about a hidden legendary, whether it be mewtwo, groudon and kyogre in hgss or even kyurem, i didn't think it would be so difficult to find. heck, i found zygarde by accident.

@themac2001 I guess many young people just wouldn't head back to victory road I'm sure there's some that stop playing after the champion! But Gamefreak just wants to play it safe for the event!

Shiny Rayquaza was cool, but this feels like a filler event.
Zygarde isn''t hard to find. You can get as many of them as you want by just playing XY over and over again. It's not even considered a good Pokemon by the competitive community (being in Smogon's BL teir) let alone a good legendary.

For a more personal story, Zygarde was also the least hyped legendary for me to find. Compared to climbing a tower with twitch-based puzzles to find Rayquaza, exploring ruins or an alternate dimension for Giratina, or even a secluded canyon for Kyurem.

It was so blatantly obvious the abandon mine was where Zygarde was because A: it says so on the town map, and B: It's one of the only optional dungeons. Getting to him was as hard as playing a walking simulator.

I live in North America but when I was trying to get Darkrai for mythical pokemon for may, I got Zygarde.

Yeah the Zygarde is available for X, Y, ORAS as of saturday is when I picked it up for 2 of my games. Although I really wish Darkrai was not gamestop exclusive means I gotta go out of town to get it . We used to have a gamestop here, but it closed due to super high rent in the strip mall they were in.

Guys we're getting Shiny Yveltal and Xerneas as I said earlier, its just now that it has become confirmed and this Zygarde event will end soon. The true reason is due to the TCG release of the trio so these play part (shiny Yveltal & Xerneas will be featuring in TCG too.)

I'd better get my 2nd and 3rd Zygardes later!
