Thats kinda sick but then again, when your company value is hard to maintain, Im sure they would also sell handhelds to blind people based on a survey saying that
"42% of blind people confirm, playing the 3DS with audio only is alot of fun and brings peace on earth"
"We prefer the pixel-perfect option as the stretched 4:3 mode suffers from some strange "shimmer" effects when the screen is moving in certain games." ...lol
On top of that they didnt even manage a 100% sound emulation.
I guess thats why this half-assed emulation toy effort has only the "Official Nintendo Seal" on it and not the " Seal of QUALITY".
Another thing, this is supposed to be a "hardware review" and not a commercial presentation so I guess that part has been forgotten in the article. Anyway here it is:
No indication as to speed, but should be clocked at 1.2GHz and 500MHz.
So overall, poor effort and why? Cause its exactly like other retro-emulation solutions just done worse. The hardware specs are more than enough to emulate the NES and if you are running it on android/linux anyway, just install one of the numerous emulators who fix above mentioned problems.
So here you go, this product just has a Nintendo name on it but could be just as well any other generic cheap knock-off .. you wouldnt tell the difference on screen. How long it took to design this? 5minutes? Nintendo could have just as well gone to alibaba.com and have this made in few days with zero of their own input, cause thats what this is.
Funny that this "NES Mini" is technically more powerful than a "New 3DS" and virtually fails at even hinting at it and the power wont be ever used.
I agree with some who say this is just a marketing trick.
@rushiosan delusional? Have a look around. You can have a 35$ raspberry emulating all from nes up to playstation. This collectors toy .. ehm .. item ...is just that, a 50cent chip in a box - so yes, because its Nintendo, because I like the old controller, because it looks funny, for 20$ I would buy one set...buuuut for 60$? .. hahah... yea right.
Apart from the current design-finish (looks bit too plastic-ish), and the old-school docking station design (cheap-ish) - its a good idea - i think. Having said that, I will buy it.
But I doubt there is hardware "inside" that will be able to compete with sony or microsoft....hopefully they design it at least in a way that it will be possible to upgrade somehow when needed and not to release some joke like new switch (new 3ds style) with minor enhancements in 2-3 years time.
Games like this have history, yes, but they should be public domain cause every kid with gamemaker can do this on an afternoon. Anyway, after checking google (i knew i saw this somewhere before) its virtually public domain anyway.. so if you cant wait until then, just play the freekong.org version www.donkey-kong.com ...and yes, Nintendo is aware of these sites.
@Mahe Just missing the mario-guy on some stage demonstrating how to turn the Wii-U into a NX while eating a burger with one hand and entering & confirming his credit card details with the other before downloading the firmware.
Could work .. 149.95$ for the add-on.
Same time, they will release the "New Wii-U", which will be basically the same as the Wii-U but with a new color, more storage, 3 more led lights and the new firmware already installed sold at same price as the Wii-U on first day. The Wii-U case will be also interchangeable and you can get green for only 29.95.
Else, they wouldnt really let it quietly die and pretend like it never existed, now would they?
@lifer Ah, thanks for the notice. I wasnt aware of that. So yes, when they even add the points to it, mmoga should be the official eshop for new releases.
Only thing Im wondering about is the point structure - like, when mmoga decides to, say, sell Mario Party Rush for 9.95 - the generated code will have the retail price in the shop and I get full points? Did you buy any discounted games?
And the comedy show continues ...
Disney Magical World 2: "only" 39.95 in the official eShop.
I know, many will say
"But hey, I dont want to carry around these elephant-sized cartridges, they are sooo heavy and theres no space in my room, no pockets in my pants and the next town with running water is 100 miles north, hence I prefer to pay more for a digital download. That way I keep the enviroment safe and also Nintendos bank account. Clever, no?"
Sure, you can buy it for 34.95 off e.g. MMOGA at the SAME TIME ...but hey, you wont get the highly sought after gold coins, cause you sure dont want to miss out on the steal-of-week "20 Gold Coins for a 20% Discount on a 5 Euro Title" promotion.
Big applause for the marketing department responsible for the 13th October 2016, you deserved it:
When people said "But no, there is no way these clowns would ever manage to offer something decent, let alone any real promotions. Best that will happen is that they will continue to rip you off for overpriced digital downloads" - I kept on defending you, Nintendo, and this week you proved me right, Thank you. I go and grab 2 digital copies of Mickey Mouse off the eShop now.
Cant wait for next weeks "Super Cyber Black Sales Monday" on the eShop... I guess the servers will break down this night and Nintendos stocks will surpass Apple by tomorrow morning.
"and New 3DS in North America and PAL territories on 20th October"
Nintendo, you better make sure you dont try the cheap push for your new (old same) console with (minor joke) upgrades ....how about you release the official eShop sales numbers of 2015/2016 and compare your strategy with this.
While I wouldnt recommend to buy this off the eShop (especially since this title most likely will go up in value in its physical form) and you can easily get any 3DS to play any region games, this cant be a 6 out of 10 when the same site rates these garbage sonic games a 6 out of 10. If the ultimate NES remix was a 7 out of 10 .. then this should be 12 out of 10.
Apart that, for everyone who knows the river city series, this is an 8-9 out of 10 ... for everyone who never played it, i guess 6 out of 10 makes sense (but then lower sonic down to 3 out of 10).
127 years ... looking back at the last 10 .. voila .. even on corporate companies/levels you can use the term "senile"
Senile 127 years old .. perfect, finally explains the marketing ideas of the last 10 years.. finally .. but first, the guest of the hour, happy happy HAPPY birthday my good old friend, Nintendo
If they are really fighting for loyality and time ... they dont show it and in fact, they are doing the opposite cause now they are losing parts of their hardcore base fans. This is meant towards their own myNintendo crap and "the biggest major joke app" Miitomo.. it was the chance they had to bound more loyal fans and they pissed off all of them (yes, im not talking about the ones cuddling with yoshi plush toys in bed or collecting every pieces of Nintendo like rare stamps)
This is coming from someone who bought an original NES back in 1987 bundled with ICE CLIMBER (not even something as great and simple as ICE CLIMBER they managed recently)
Spare me that Mario Runner crap .. if you really think thats worth playing or even consider this garbage to be a mario game, you never ever were a loyal Nintendo Fan or understood the difference of these games compared to generic crap on xBOX/Playstation.
Whoever is making calls at Nintendo these days is just looking at how you artificially please the shareholders
And as good as Dragon Quest might be, its a freaking REMAKE .. if thats your so called "important" release youre done already... they dont care about loyality, they want new fans spending the same money on the same OLD games we all did already
"For 200 coins you can get either a Kirby Robobot Armor T-shirt or Kirby & Qbby (of BOXBOY fame) T-shirt, both of which can be used in Miitomo."
FINALLY - Wohooooooooooooo, was waiting and praying for this for the whole year. Finally - the RESURRECTION.
What you say now "Mittomo is Garbage" haters? Nobodys laughing now when getting these awesome rewards. Nobody will ever again say "I rather sniff around the street with my dog for treasure than collecting any more of these worthless coins" .. these times are over, cause when you think the rewards & Nintendo cant sink any lower, they turn things around and TOTALLY REDEEM themselves. Thanks Nintendo, I go and kill myself now.
Yea, why even bother working on Wii U stuff or something worth to be added to the 3DS eShop... but yea, spend more time patching this masterpiece for the 7 people out there who are still playing it...but then again if I would like this game (which is not possible) I would be pissing myself laughing that they even still care
Punch Club on pictures looks much nicer than the actual gameplay is (very repetitive simulation - eat-sleep-train-repeat-eat-sleep-train-repeat - no actual beat em up or anything similar).. you can grab is for a 5er on mobiles.
@AlexSora89 Me neither actually ... but i guess its connected to last night, I dont even fully remember how I got home... ignore my 2 comments here as I dont remember them myself... I stand fully behind all the others
"Naturally it's a mod of a ROM, though, so the usual grey ethical areas apply; we'd suggest this one qualifies as pretty darn harmless, though.
"
Ah, Nintendolife vs. Nintards .. first, how can u play this? Ah yes.. u need.. what? emulator?... but its bad, right? .. else why pay 70$ for nes mini (aka nintards vision of resurrection) when even n64 is for "free" ... so here u have it.. positive news with emulators.. horrrray
wheres the nintendo army? please come on .. im missing some weirdo saying " no , its all different than u think,. u destroy nintendo. and i hate u.. and stuff and stuff.. and .. so... when ..i dont know.. but like....u use nintendo and... like.. is not what nintendo told me.. like... so .. ur bad like and go to hell like"
Why you hate the world so much, Nintendo?
We have diseases, wars, disasters, famine, terror ... then we got Miitomo .. and now we have digital underwear with Kirby ...
At least there is some sarcasm...
"What do you think? Will you be picking up any of this?"
But - I dont know why but these weekly (?) Miitomo articles are like some Monty Phyton skid .. probably hardly anyone will "pick anything up" but it sure is entertaining.
Fantastic - first Brick Racer on the 3DS and now this ...the year is not even over yet..the big turnaround for the Wii U. Nintendo should add a 15% voucher for Miitomo points.
Why Nintendo considers this garbage to be worth added to their library will remain a mystery .. ah yes, money.
15$ (!!!) .. say 15 DOLLAR out loud while watching the pictures holding your Wii U Pad in the hand. Perhaps it can be bundled with Brick Racer?
The usual Apple "exclusive" deals that end up on Android are limited to 3 months ... so around feb/march it should be on android. If Super Generic Run would fail badly, they might push for an earlier release (as long as Apple doesnt have other plans/contract to somehow link it to other marketing purposes - but wouldnt make sense anyway) ....I guess it will do "ok-good" on apple in its initial phase due to their solid money-spending client base (well, these people are used to paying 99 cents to "unlock" the pause button in their video editing software) and then disappear into oblivion like this ... whatever it is supposed to be....Mittomo ...
On android, as with other short-lived hyped games, millions will try and a fraction will actually pay a "set price" , let alone constant in-app purchases... thats the hardcore Nintendo fans, who will do anyway. So for Nintendo, they dont care where the money is coming from, there or from cartridge sales as long as the Nintendo base is supporting it ... acquiring "new clients" significally through that is a pipedream. We should have a look at the "Best of" - pre-release Miitomo comments hyping it up to become Nintendos BIG step foward.... same old, same old
finally finally finally some good news for the 3DS ... and yes, definately physical. Digital-only in europe is a joke but then again its not that hard to unlock the 3DS anyway.
That amazon link is dead
Edit: There is actually no "keychain" pre-order for this game available as this "Keychain Bundle" will go on sale at launch. Just some retailers are offering pre-order just for the game same like you can pre-order everything you want. Thats why the link will REMAIN dead until the 27th
And yep, the keychain stuff is an usa exclusive release.
@westman98 You still didnt get it ... ah well, Nintendo all the way I guess... not sure whats too hard to understand in the postings and actually cleveland was faster than me to reply.. but i meant basically the same...
but yes yes, before someone starts crying, mobile games, I CAN GUARANTEE YOU, will make Nintendo take over the world
@westman98 You are "guaranteeing" alot, but you should try to understand the info you are posting before barking it out like on a market ... so just to put things into context:
"While Nintendo didn't disclose exact figures, it noted that sales of the 3DS skyrocketed up 80 per cent compared to July 2015.
It's worth noting that this includes all models of 3DS: the original, the budget model 2DS, and the premium Nintendo New 3DS."
In case youre wondering the source, thats eurogamer (but just by using google you will find any source of your choice) ...Claiming that "Pokemon Mobile" is driving any significant 3DS sales makes even Nintendo laugh, i guess.
You should also mention that the "stats" include the 2DS with a bundled Mario Kart 7 for 79.95 which Nintendo said themselves ..
Donate money in April 2016 for a good cause. You can watch your good cause. (my.charitywater.org) And that way, you helped a little bit.
But please, acting like mother theresa cause you bought some consumer goods.. wow... 2016 and people are wondering whats wrong with the world... wooohoooo...helped a little bit... i nearly spit out my drink laughing
Ladies and Gentlemen, please, dont get angry, Miyamoto-San just released his first marketing-draft for the new Super Mario "game", it may clear up some of your "confusion" (for historical reasons):
So please stop complaining.. nobody is forcing you to play, but yes, like with an old heavy metal bands, you might get angry cause they sold out - BUT ... thats life
@cfgk24 Its already announced officially by Nintendo ... it will arrive on Android ... its just that these articles here are focused on steering up hype not really going into details.
Check Kotaku, Nintendo told them directly, heres the quote:
"“We do intend to release the game on Android devices at some point in the future,” a spokesperson told the gaming website."
@ThomasBW84 Its also ironic that e.g. Forbes is reporting about "In-App purchases" and they are focused on the business aspect - while it might be true that you pay a "set price", Nintendo would have to be stupid to not have further In-App purchases, thats the whole business of it.... Im betting 3000 Miitomo points on this
Again, the misunderstanding is, this is not "a emulator site" (like the Dolphin one, where you can go to forums and ask for roms). Its the microsoft shop with a full description.
@Lzeon ROMS were never mentioned - the deleted posting and the included link is related to the (legal) emulator and was given as example. Same as with the Dolphin emulator I have given as example. I fully understand the roms issue, no links to roms were ever posted and if so I would even report that myself.
Since some cant understand the "frustration" of some, perhaps Nintendo could sheer everyone up with some free Miitomo coins? Also, Brick Racer has been released recently (I had to buy a new 3DS to make use of its Nintendo Seal of Quality content) - perhaps with a 10% off bundle coupon and Super Mario Runner on the horizon, it will turn things around? I mean, its first an iOS exclusive, so at least 20-30 millions will get an iPhone/iPad just to play this (I know I will, i never bought an apple product, but now I dont have any choice) ... perhaps they could connect this "game" with Miitomo, so after spending countless hours of fun, we could answer the Mittomo question of the day and twitter our highscore and answer? On top, many didnt seem to notice how much work went into it, its not like its a cheap generic runner based on overbloated license/distribution costs, you can play it with ONE hand and thats the same way it was coded.

We should have a look at the "Best of" - pre-release Miitomo comments hyping it up to become Nintendos BIG step foward.... same old, same old
Re: River City: Tokyo Rumble Will Be Roughhousing 3DS Consoles At The End Of This Month
finally finally finally some good news for the 3DS ... and yes, definately physical.
Re: Talking Point: The Inevitability of Super Mario Run, Nintendo's Ace for the Mobile Market
@westman98 You still didnt get it ... ah well, Nintendo all the way I guess... not sure whats too hard to understand in the postings and actually cleveland was faster than me to reply.. but i meant basically the same...
but yes yes, before someone starts crying, mobile games, I CAN GUARANTEE YOU, will make Nintendo take over the world
Re: Talking Point: The Inevitability of Super Mario Run, Nintendo's Ace for the Mobile Market
Re: Talking Point: The Inevitability of Super Mario Run, Nintendo's Ace for the Mobile Market
@rjejr Im sure of that
Re: Talking Point: The Inevitability of Super Mario Run, Nintendo's Ace for the Mobile Market
@Anti-Matter You could also:
Donate money in April 2016 for a good cause.
You can watch your good cause. (my.charitywater.org)
And that way, you helped a little bit.
But please, acting like mother theresa cause you bought some consumer goods.. wow... 2016 and people are wondering whats wrong with the world... wooohoooo...helped a little bit... i nearly spit out my drink laughing
Re: Talking Point: The Inevitability of Super Mario Run, Nintendo's Ace for the Mobile Market
Ladies and Gentlemen, please, dont get angry, Miyamoto-San just released his first marketing-draft for the new Super Mario "game", it may clear up some of your "confusion" (for historical reasons):
So please stop complaining.. nobody is forcing you to play, but yes, like with an old heavy metal bands, you might get angry cause they sold out - BUT ... thats life
Re: Nintendo Appears at Apple Conference to Announce Super Mario Run
@cfgk24 Its already announced officially by Nintendo ... it will arrive on Android ... its just that these articles here are focused on steering up hype not really going into details.
Check Kotaku, Nintendo told them directly, heres the quote:
"“We do intend to release the game on Android devices at some point in the future,” a spokesperson told the gaming website."
Re: Nintendo Appears at Apple Conference to Announce Super Mario Run
@ThomasBW84 Its also ironic that e.g. Forbes is reporting about "In-App purchases" and they are focused on the business aspect - while it might be true that you pay a "set price", Nintendo would have to be stupid to not have further In-App purchases, thats the whole business of it.... Im betting 3000 Miitomo points on this
Re: The Xbox One Might Be Getting A NES Emulator
@Lzeon The official Microsoft shop just has the emulator as you can see here (it was the same link):
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/nesbox-emulator/9nblggh3szfq
Again, the misunderstanding is, this is not "a emulator site" (like the Dolphin one, where you can go to forums and ask for roms). Its the microsoft shop with a full description.
Re: Nintendo Appears at Apple Conference to Announce Super Mario Run
@Webby-sama I also set my alarm-clock and will take a month vacation off work during the launch. I was born ready for this.
Re: The Xbox One Might Be Getting A NES Emulator
@Lzeon ROMS were never mentioned - the deleted posting and the included link is related to the (legal) emulator and was given as example. Same as with the Dolphin emulator I have given as example. I fully understand the roms issue, no links to roms were ever posted and if so I would even report that myself.
Re: Nintendo Appears at Apple Conference to Announce Super Mario Run
