Miitomo got a huge update today which allows users to send each other direct messages, decorate their rooms and even strut their sense of fashion for all the world to see.
To mark this occasion - and to perhaps remind people that Miitomo exists - Nintendo has published two video promos which highlight the new features. Direct messaging is the most prominent of these, which is understandable as it transforms the app into a stronger social networking tool than it was previously.
As well as these videos, there's a Japanese promo which also focuses on Miitomo's new talents.
How are you getting on with the updated app? Have these fresh elements convinced you to start using it again, or did you never stop? Let us know with a "direct message" of your own in the comments section below.

Miitomo update: Good
These comercials: Kill them with fire
No thanks. I can just imagine what they're like from past experiences.
I have a confession to make, article subtitle...
I still play miitomo and this update actually seems to cover a lot of things the game needed.
Now coins just have to get something worth having.
Can we get the rewards section updated now.
Rewards not discounts
Never stopped playing... with my 2 friends lol
That a cute doggy.
Nintendo: Hey Everyone! Remember Miitomo?
Everyone:
I am liking the update but I have no friends to play with. My Nintendo buddies are cheap and don't have smart phones.
These commercials are just sad ...out of touch with reality.
Love how the title of this article says "cringe-worthy promos" XD XD
The promos are funny and reaching a bit too hard though. XD
I think it's the wrong pitch. Miitomo is not going to replace other messaging services. That might work for under 13s, but Miitomo isn't available to under 13s.
Would like to see it used more for gaming news and to see better return on the effort of using it. Wondering what the plans for the Switch are.
These commercials are AWESOME!
( I especially like the disco ball hat moment lol)
lol. That disco hat is great.
Hey! Random question: due to the update's new 3 part celebration, does this mean Zelda items such as Link's Bow and Hylian Shield + Master Sword be available again? I somehow missed out on these earlier this year and I am really bummed out about it.
