"it's quite laughable to say the least. I'm neither aggressive or a blind fanboy, which is how you seem to be painting me."
Yes, its sooo funny. Whats also funny is that you think your own perception of yourself should be the same for everyone. I dont drag in invisible "people who know me" (as if this means anything) - perhaps youre not blind, but you are the definition of a fanboy and hence your objectivity is very questionable. You act like there is nothing negative, all these people are just a tiny little number of weirdos ...
"I'm much too old for such silly behavior..."
I doubt that, you just back off at the end, thats all.
What has spain to do with anything? Im not spanish hahah... but yea, throw in spain as well .. and please dont speak about age, professor ... im sure the day I had a Nintendo you werent even born yet. But again, I dont know, you dont know.. but u know so much, im spanish, right... i do travel alot, if I sign up now, my IP will be from germany.. so what? Very mature indeed...what is this? 1997?
Yep, have a good night. Great talk.
Ps. Thanks for your unselective review searching ...so we have a buyer? makes all the others on amazon automatically idiots? cheers for that .. and if u get bored, read my points again, they are clear.
"I was trying to turn this into a more civil conversation, as people who know me on here can attest to, but apparently that isn't possible here."
Not really... this is not the school-yard where you can scream louder and hope the other will stay silent. Its the usual style...first Nintendo is the best others are bad blabla, then try to save your .ss by trying to to be "civil". Hint, do that from the start and not at the end. I also dont know what you mean by "people who know me" .. so what? you and your gang are all on the payroll? hahah.. (please, send me a mail if you want positive reviews, but i dont take platinum points for payment). You are actually actively trying to navigate this discussion into some "positive imagination" of what it could be when its an overpriced 1.50$ production-costs emulator. But we simply dont know....touchez!
Yes, you do selective review searching - the Sega Atgames stuff is not the best...but the whole point is twisted.. already the pricetag of Nintendo is a joke for what is officially confirmed. Atgames at least was thinking in the right direction, while Nintendo is thinking how to make more money with less to invest. Thats the whole gimmick these days... (gotta love the rewaaaaards)
Another hint: the future of Nintendo wont be its hardcore base of gamers (like you) anyway - it shifts to an open market, competing with everyone else - not anymore a protected little virtual island that Nintendo can milk, so I guess they think "ah what the hell, lets rip off the rest of the hardcore fans, they wont notice anyway and they will be just a tiny fraction of our future clients" (yea, you confirm that in few months with the overall sales of this).
But, we simply dont know.. will it rain tomorrow? we dont know.. we have to wait... will the sun go up tomorrow? negative, cant confirm, lets wait and see first
Not again ...spare me that "dont insult" me stuff. You are first acting like the official spokesman of Nintendo and when there is a critic you take it so serious that its PERSONAL for you? Sell this to the kids, they might believe that.
What kind of "facts" are you stating? Read what I wrote, following your logic and your bitter aggressive way of promoting Nintendo, I can also claim the Mini NES is a 1.50$ piece of crap box - simply because we dont know. You are not the emperor of opinion. What is actually going on here? Not possible anymore to have normal discussions? Nintendo simply cant do bad, right? You just keep on repeating and repeating how Nintendo simply CANT BE BAD. But yes, we dont know... the answer is blowing in the wind. We go to mars, but its a mystery what kind of hardware will emulate 8-bit games in a box... oh boy.
Another thing, if you want me also to handpick negative reviews about Nintendo, sure, easy, you like Amazon? Check this:
Seems there are enough people who enjoy it ... also with sd storage. Whats wrong here? They must be all wrong.
The thing is, people look for value .. that Nintendo thing is and will be an overpriced collectors item like the rest,.. but yes, we simply dont know.....oh yes, deep down u know
Btw. if Nintendo pays well for positive reviews and stuff, send me a mail, and I will spin this thing into the next Super Nintendo on release day.
@ThanosReXXX
"Far too soon to tell. We don't know what kind of hardware is in it, and this is made by Nintendo themselves, which should at the very least be some warranty for the quality of the system. The hardware in the Sega clone/knock-off on the other hand is actually known: it is lousy, has poopy sound which is also mono, has no hdmi connector, runs on a Chinese emulator called Firecore, which is also poopy and it isn't compatible with quite a few cartridges. Oh, and the wireless controllers also suck.
The only thing that this knock-off has going for it, is the number of games, although 40 of the 80 are homebrew, so it actually only has 10 more games in comparison to the NES Mini."
Wow - you should perhaps go to the middle of your city center, set up a big podium and start screaming this wisdom to everyone, the louder you do it, the more people might believe it.
What do you mean you dont know what hardware it is? What do you actually expect? Dont be ridiculous, its a freaking chip emulating 8-bit games. As if there is some sort of a secret, as if there would use nasa-technology. Pure comedy ... they release this cause its CHEAP and they can make a huge profit of "collectors" like you.
"Some sort of warranty for quality" hahah .. yes, please, say it three times loud in front of a mirror without laughing. How about i use your logic and say "we dont know anything about the quality yet" - so perhaps its just the worst possible quality ever? perhaps its without sound? well, we DONT KNOW YET.. its a MYSTERY. Perhaps there are only the first levels of all games? Simply cause we dont know.
And the "poor bad crap knock off of sega" - yea, its soooo bad, it actually spreads diseases worldwide ... first of all, there are several of these consoles. Send me that list of the unsupported cartridges, just for a good laugh, so we can check what super important games cant be played.
@Embassy Exactly, spot on mate - like the miitomo hype where all the angry nintendo army came praising it and now months later its in the garbage can... same here.. just wait few months...it will collect dust on your collectors cupboard. But thats the idea.
@Billsama Yes, im also Super Mario but now using the name of Luigi ... no, im not, and I dont know who that is, but im sure you can just compare the writing style of anyone to see who is related... I give u a hint, english is not my first language... but thanks
@Mk_II Its not cheap. Your logic is based on Nintendos overpriced policies. Following that, if tomorrow they set every VC game to 19.95$ and then sell the same box for 199$, its cheap?
Its time to go with the times and not to endlessly milk the same stuff over and over again ..also its very restricted, cause they dont want to give anything away. There is zero value in it. As others pointed out, if it would come including some enhancements for the games, online play, sd storage, eshop connectivity (like playing the ALREADY BOUGHT 8-bit titles on it) or whatever, thats different.
Perhaps its cheap for "collectors" , yes, thats why I say, raise the price even more, it doesnt matter.
" A cheap, novelty toy for everyone who wishes they had a little NES in their lives. Nothing fancy, no internet, just 30 of the best games for NES, in a little box that looks like a tiny NES."
Its neither cheap nor has any "novelty" but you are correct to say its not fancy... and 30 BEST GAMES ? (come on ..there are lots missing). How can anyone seriously say its cheap? What is this based on? You virtually pay 58.50$ for the Nintendo Logo on it. Just because Nintendo sets prices for stuff doesnt mean it reflects the value. A raspberry Pi is cheap, 1gig of ram and runs all.
Its a lazy made-in-china 1.50$ plastic box with a chip - effort to milk some hardcore collectors...thats all. Nintendo is not risking anything with this and creates a bit of publicity for few weeks ...
If that has any sort of mass appeal, then I suggest to re-release the gameboy with tetris running on a chip for 99$ (perhaps with a 2% discount when using 2000 platinum points)
"To all the people whining about "cash-in" aspect, not being able to play original cartridges, not seeing the point... 1) they sold 60 millions NES. There are 7 billions people on Earth. Guess what... not everyone owns a NES. That's at least one good reason to create such a thing. Of course, you need to be relatively good at math to come with such a complex observation, I can't blame you."
So, following your complex observation, guess what? Still doesnt change anything cause people wont buy it at this price. You also assume that 7 billion people are all braindead? Imagine a mother in a store wanting to buy her kids something to play .. you think she will shell out 70$ (including an extra controller) for some 8-bit games? The kids would be crying .. this is for collectors and for that, the logical business approach would be to even raise the price more cause for the ones who buy it, it wont matter. For 29.95 and 2 controllers, you might convince the grandma to pick it up .. for 70, no way, even the guy at Toys R us would most likely recommend her to pick up a Wii Mini instead... lets see in few month whos right about sales.
"2) it's mini-console with pre-loaded games: not being able to play the original games is the whole point! No cartridge slot, no internet connection, no online service. Also, the console seems barely as big as the carts themselves!"
The whole point .. ok, so why for that price? You just listed all thats wrong with it ...so yes, 70$, 2 controllers and a 50$ eshop card would do the trick.
Else as usual, in few months its silence and they sold some small amount for collectors.. let wait and see
@Billsama "rest of us" ? .. sure, lets see how this will sell for 60$. I guess you would also buy for 150$. Its more for collectors and in that regard Nintendo should raise the price to 300$ ... still the same "rest of us" would buy it. The "other rest" will pass.
60$ is too much for this ... doesnt really make sense considering the hardware and what it is.
29.95$ with 2 controllers should do the trick ... else, any raspberry for 30$ hooked up to the TV can play all Nintendo stuff easily, including N64... and if u want to make it look a nintendo, im sure u can make ur own Nintendo shell.
"Nintendo is offering a tiny bit of extra incentive to tempt you back. A new daily 'Mission' will reward you with 2 Platinum points every time you answer the app's 'Featured Question'."
Is this some sort of a twisted aprils fools day joke?
If someone would come up on the street to me with this fantastic new Greeditendo offer, he would get a punch straight in the face. Now Nintendo makes carny tricks look like scientific formulas. Why dont you start with rigged scratch cards?
About Miitomo, Nintendo is actually lucky that nobody gives a flying ..ck about it. Perhaps at the end of year there will be a nice "Biggest failure in 2016" best of - spot secured already in april, congrat, chaps .. and please, say congrats to the guy who greenlighted this and came up with the 2 point idea... a genius.
"Offers" like these really makes you start to feel like Nintendo is about to give up on its client base and hopes to create a braindead army of new customers. These are not offers or rewards... Nintendo should be sued for misusing the word reward. Keep it up, Nintendo, and lets see if you can top your Wii U failure next year. Keep your stinking "rewards" and I will keep my money.
"The oddest moment was when Ubisoft 100% confirmed, in big letters on a giant screen (and in subsequent press releases), Just Dance 2017 for the Nintendo NX."
Dont worry, they will add a 10% platin points discount and 5 Tshirts (well, 5 different colors) on Miitomo along with it. It will boost Nintendos trend to the top. The promo will be called D.O.A.
OK we get it, the points are worthless ... no need to make more fun.... next time you can credit everyone 100 just for clicking on the nintendo homepage.
Happy hunting everyone and dont forget to exchange them for either the mario kart discount or some digital underpants, you deserved it!
Wow, this list of "offers" looks like Nintendo took out all their garbage. Even when you delete all of that off the eShop - wont make any difference. The shop is rotting away ...
"The promotion isn't far off hitting the 40,000 retweet target for this extra goodie, having already passed 35,000 at the time of publication."
Who cares about some tweet promotion promoting Nintendo .. how about Nintendo starts tweeting back to their clients about when they will actually start with some real rewards. What a joke, and now its becoming a running gag ... tune in next time, for "Like" on Facebook for a pair of digital socks.
Wow...big shoulder pat for the genius who rehashed the 90s commercials at Nintendo. Overall this makes it look like some weird 90s commercial that tries to predict the future. Dont know why but halfway through youre hoping this is an Robocop 2 outtake and Cain will start shooting these lame kids.
For next trash episode of "What kids want and consider to be very funny", please focus on your generous rewards, like digital tshirts - throw in some jokes about collecting coins too.
...and of course, the countdown is ticking and we should see one of these "very funny for kids" salesmen stars caught up in some DUI or drug scandal like the disney club .. .always happens when they are forced to do stuff like this... else how would that be possible...muahahah...
Hopefully the next update will include even more amazing "rewards" - still waiting for digital food to feed my Mii, new pair of digital socks and perhaps a 10% discount off the release-day retail price of Garfield Kart for 800 points.
Its the same joke as usual... why even wait for these "sales", Hop over to amazon.co.jp - seems they started the sales already long before Nintendo.
Some examples:
Super Smash Bros. for 3DS – 3,650 yen (was 5,616 yen) Fire Emblem Fates – 3,299 yen (was 5,076 yen) Mario Kart 7 – 3,209 yen (was 4,937 yen)
"was" is funny ... "was" perhaps in the head of some manager at Nintendo but not in any regular video game shop.
So yea, you might save a few cents compared to Amazon.co.jp - but then again, you only have a digital copy of it. But in that case, why not just order the games used off amazon.co.jp (half price) when nobody cares about anything physical....
50% off .. yea right ..5% more like it ... great celebration, big applause.
Why not 99% off next time, Nintendo? Just say, the retail price of Mario Kart 7 "was" 5000 euro...,muhahah
A Super Nintendo TShirt .. great ... digital for the Mii Character? MUAHAHAHAHA ... its like reading some aprils fools joke.
Following this tremendously generous reward, how about you offer some "food" rewards for the Mii next time? Like for 200 useless points, you can buy a hamburger that you can feed it digitally to your Mii .. hahahah
The reward-update section is truly the stand-up comedy section here.
"The new arrivals are low in number but have some quality nonetheless, while there are a range of discounts to consider."
hahaha .. looking at the offer and the text, this sounds like these commercial presentations on tv trying to sell me pans and when i call now, i will also get some free knife along with it = you dont believe yourself what you are writing...awful week
"Available since 16th October 2015, listed once again by Nintendo in its press release."
hahahah... so why even list it again... Not even Nintendo knows anymore what to offer? Call it "Retro" week and while youre at it, why not a "Celebrate the 3DS" week, going back to launch day. Like for one week only, you can purchase all games at the price of launch day back then! and DIGITAL only (so you can finally throw away these huge heavy cartridges)
Seems to be in line with the reward-strategy. Top notch quality as usual.
How about this, for next week, I have an idea for more rewards and discounts. So from next Monday on, for 500 points you will receive a "Free eShop Pass" Reward. That entitles you to visit the eShop for 48 hours starting from the moment you entered.
@jsty3105 Yes I want that and what you want? You want these clowns to continue ripping off people instead of adapting to a fair loyalty program like others. You better go and waste your "energies" elsewhere... what is this? A Nintendo Prison? And yes, its focused on the eShop and im not the only one no matter how many times you reply with ZERO just claiming its all PERFECTLY FINE... go spread your propaganda elsewhere... youre the same kind that would let people die on the street of hunger and then point to some stats... well done, nintendo-slave
@jsty3105 Ah really? What you are saying is basically "its alright...dont complain about ripping off .. its nintendo" .. I dont think you happen to speak with alot of people in the normal world but that eShop - whoever is running it deserves to get fired cause someone makes these decisions on a weekly basis ... while you are it, claim some more fantastic rewards, will make you feel like u won the lottery if you already feel blessed just defending a scam
"They're slightly strange rewards, from this writer's perspective - you're asked to give up a fairly hefty amount of Points for a handful of plays on a rather erratic, tricky minigame."
No, really? Actually it fits perfectly into what Nintendo has been doing lately. Im surprised they didnt offer you to spend like 500 points and get their "newsletter" as a "reward".
Looks like its even hard now for the writers to stay positive with these garbage rewards ... a reward for a freaking token to play another freaking trick game ... what a joke.
Why not like this, why not sell levels as rewards, like, you buy Super Mario Kart 7 from the eShop for 44.95 (a steal - get 2) and then you can exchange your super points for e.g. the acceleration button ... or perhaps for the title screen... like, for 44.95 you own a (digital) copy but if you want to see the title screen you can get it rewarded for 500 points? good idea, no?
@jsty3105 Im not young. Tut tut , shame on you to turn a blind eye on everything. Shame on you helping them to rip off .. dont give me that indy games stuff, im talking about the price politics and this garbage rewards and yes, for that young or old, people should get fired... disgusting to see this
@jsty3105 Zero justification? Perhaps in lala-land but in the real world that joke of an eShop is overcharging and ripping off people (44.95 mario kart on 3ds). These people should be fired and flip burger and I dont care if some are happy to spend 3.99 on some indy titles - never mentioned this.
So this means there is still hope that these braindead managers in charge of the eShop get laid off and Nintendo will start with competitive prices and perhaps ...yes perhaps .....even real rewards?
And if youre at it already, sue these monkeys on the way out for sabotaging your brand.
hahahah what a joke. Why even bother publishing these "news" - makes the shop look even worse than it is already. Are we supposed to be "grateful" for these "rewards"? Total joke and great example to highlight the useless points
Nintendo Pocket Football Club - 50% off (40 Gold Points, available until 1st August) Nintendo Pocket Football Club - 20% off (250 Platinum Points, available until 1st August)
You have to be kidding ... that is listed for 14.99 in the eShop, so lets say I use the 250 to get a 20% discount - thats 2.99 off ending up paying 12 euro as a REWARD. Funny that a quick look an freaking AMAZON already reveals you can buy it for as low as 7.49 (!) Euro (and you get the game box including the download code along with it).
Sorry, who is his right mind feels rewarded... this is an outright scam... not even worth the term "Reward". I wont get even into the joke of the gold coins.

Re: Guide: Amazon Prime Day 2016 - Nintendo Deals
"Quality rather than quantity?"
Go back to journalism school.... you seem to be missing some ethics, but perhaps Nintendolife is located in Pyongyang?
Why you even publish this garbage?

Stop making fun of your readers.

Re: My Nintendo Really Wants You To Use Miitomo, But Only Offers 2 Points in New Daily 'Mission'
Breaking News, seems Nintendo just announced all rewards at once, here it is:

Re: My Nintendo Really Wants You To Use Miitomo, But Only Offers 2 Points in New Daily 'Mission'
Perhaps at the end of year there will be a nice "Biggest failure in 2016" best of - spot secured already in april, congrat, chaps .. and please, say congrats to the guy who greenlighted this and came up with the 2 point idea... a genius.
Re: More Discounts and Downloads Arrive on My Nintendo in Europe
Here is a fan reaction after reading the new "rewards" offers.

Youre the best, Nintendo. Dont forget to add some digital underpants for Mittomo for 500 platinum points.
Re: New My Nintendo Rewards Are Now Available in North America
"Offers" like these really makes you start to feel like Nintendo is about to give up on its client base and hopes to create a braindead army of new customers. These are not offers or rewards... Nintendo should be sued for misusing the word reward. Keep it up, Nintendo, and lets see if you can top your Wii U failure next year. Keep your stinking "rewards" and I will keep my money.

Re: Editorial: Nintendo Did A Solid Job at E3 2016, But That Didn't Ease Long-Term Concerns
@bolt05 Weird "fact" check ... Gamecube sold 21-22 million units worldwide while the Wii U around 13 so far. It will never catch up with the gamecube.
Re: Editorial: Nintendo Did A Solid Job at E3 2016, But That Didn't Ease Long-Term Concerns
Re: 60 Platinum Points Up For Grabs in Legend of Zelda My Nintendo Missions
OK we get it, the points are worthless ... no need to make more fun.... next time you can credit everyone 100 just for clicking on the nintendo homepage.
Happy hunting everyone and dont forget to exchange them for either the mario kart discount or some digital underpants, you deserved it!
Re: Nintendo Download: 16th June (Europe)
Wow, this list of "offers" looks like Nintendo took out all their garbage. Even when you delete all of that off the eShop - wont make any difference. The shop is rotting away ...
Re: Nintendo Adds Extra Reward to Miitomo x The Legend of Zelda Retweet Event
"The promotion isn't far off hitting the 40,000 retweet target for this extra goodie, having already passed 35,000 at the time of publication."
Who cares about some tweet promotion promoting Nintendo .. how about Nintendo starts tweeting back to their clients about when they will actually start with some real rewards. What a joke, and now its becoming a running gag ... tune in next time, for "Like" on Facebook for a pair of digital socks.
Re: Video: Play Nintendo Channel Releases Debut 'Bragg Report'
More, Nintendo, please more.
Re: Bravely Second: New Faces 3DS HOME Theme and Miitomo Outfits Added to My Nintendo in North America
"Are you tempted to spend any points on these?"
Sarcasm? muahahah....
Hopefully the next update will include even more amazing "rewards" - still waiting for digital food to feed my Mii, new pair of digital socks and perhaps a 10% discount off the release-day retail price of Garfield Kart for 800 points.
Re: Nintendo of Japan is Putting on a Massive 5th Anniversary Sale on the 3DS eShop
Its the same joke as usual... why even wait for these "sales", Hop over to amazon.co.jp - seems they started the sales already long before Nintendo.
Some examples:
Super Smash Bros. for 3DS – 3,650 yen (was 5,616 yen)
Fire Emblem Fates – 3,299 yen (was 5,076 yen)
Mario Kart 7 – 3,209 yen (was 4,937 yen)
"was" is funny ... "was" perhaps in the head of some manager at Nintendo but not in any regular video game shop.
So yea, you might save a few cents compared to Amazon.co.jp - but then again, you only have a digital copy of it. But in that case, why not just order the games used off amazon.co.jp (half price) when nobody cares about anything physical....
50% off .. yea right ..5% more like it ... great celebration, big applause.
Why not 99% off next time, Nintendo? Just say, the retail price of Mario Kart 7 "was" 5000 euro...,muhahah
Re: New My Nintendo Rewards Include A Super Nintendo Shirt And Xenoblade Discounts
Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd June (Europe)
"The new arrivals are low in number but have some quality nonetheless, while there are a range of discounts to consider."
hahaha .. looking at the offer and the text, this sounds like these commercial presentations on tv trying to sell me pans and when i call now, i will also get some free knife along with it = you dont believe yourself what you are writing...awful week
Re: Nintendo Download: 26th May (Europe)
Re: Nintendo Plans Corporate Changes That Point to Diverse Business Moves
@jsty3105 Yes I want that and what you want? You want these clowns to continue ripping off people instead of adapting to a fair loyalty program like others. You better go and waste your "energies" elsewhere... what is this? A Nintendo Prison? And yes, its focused on the eShop and im not the only one no matter how many times you reply with ZERO just claiming its all PERFECTLY FINE... go spread your propaganda elsewhere... youre the same kind that would let people die on the street of hunger and then point to some stats... well done, nintendo-slave
Re: Nintendo Plans Corporate Changes That Point to Diverse Business Moves
@jsty3105 Ah really? What you are saying is basically "its alright...dont complain about ripping off .. its nintendo" .. I dont think you happen to speak with alot of people in the normal world but that eShop - whoever is running it deserves to get fired cause someone makes these decisions on a weekly basis ... while you are it, claim some more fantastic rewards, will make you feel like u won the lottery if you already feel blessed just defending a scam
Re: My Nintendo Discount Applied to Miitomo Drop Game Tickets Reward
Re: Nintendo Plans Corporate Changes That Point to Diverse Business Moves
@jsty3105 Im not young. Tut tut , shame on you to turn a blind eye on everything. Shame on you helping them to rip off .. dont give me that indy games stuff, im talking about the price politics and this garbage rewards and yes, for that young or old, people should get fired... disgusting to see this
Re: Nintendo Plans Corporate Changes That Point to Diverse Business Moves
@jsty3105 Zero justification? Perhaps in lala-land but in the real world that joke of an eShop is overcharging and ripping off people (44.95 mario kart on 3ds). These people should be fired and flip burger and I dont care if some are happy to spend 3.99 on some indy titles - never mentioned this.
Re: Nintendo Plans Corporate Changes That Point to Diverse Business Moves
So this means there is still hope that these braindead managers in charge of the eShop get laid off and Nintendo will start with competitive prices and perhaps ...yes perhaps .....even real rewards?
And if youre at it already, sue these monkeys on the way out for sabotaging your brand.
Re: Three New Discounts Arrive on My Nintendo in Europe
hahahah what a joke. Why even bother publishing these "news" - makes the shop look even worse than it is already. Are we supposed to be "grateful" for these "rewards"? Total joke and great example to highlight the useless points
Nintendo Pocket Football Club - 50% off (40 Gold Points, available until 1st August)
Nintendo Pocket Football Club - 20% off (250 Platinum Points, available until 1st August)
What have you become, Nintendo.
