Anyway, the FIFA link is funny, proves rather my point than yours. They will release a "special customized" version .. oh wow, yea, I remember those on the 3DS..nice.
No no, im talking about the eShop in general ... the switch eshop is a graveyard and this Voez wont add anything to it.
Ah right, constantly, funny just it, mark my 4mio words
Try to spin it hehe

@buildz Wait, Im supposed to stop suggesting the Fifa port will be the mobile game but the stuff you are "claiming" is verified science?
Nintendo have been very selective with the Switch eShop (case in point: Nindies Showcase) and they've clearly deemed this good enough..
Sorry what? You mean the BlackJack games, the slot games? Or do you mean THE NEW 3DS exclusive hit BRICK Racer?
Ok, i get it, thats the point, if you are happy with your flood of mobile ports, cause it will be anyway the same ,thats why also this company is constantly in decline. Lets see if your arguments will manage to push the console to 4mio this year ...
@ricklongo do you actually have any sort of arguments? Nice ignoring everything.. look at your words, nonstop, no substance.
So I wont start the kindergarden fight over your tirade, but I hope your postings are still around when Nintendo reports some "issues" with its switch future.
The only thing thats sad, to use your words, is that people pretend to care so much, like hugging trees to stop wars, and im sure like kids they have a good intention.. but as i said, and i stand to it, history repeats itself and you just fuel it.
@buildz Please explain what? "Same marketing they told" .. wasnt hard, was it. You werent around when the Wii U was assaulted with cheap digital games? Come on, now suddenly the Wii U and all the mistakes are not visible here? Its like the same continuation, you have your tablet mobile Wii praising these digital stuff until nobody cares
Yes, tell it also the others ... tell them they will get mobile based ports on their 300quid console. Thats the point .... wont be any painful 4 years, just keep up the support and we cut it in half.
@ricklongo So if there is even 1 percent of any rationality in your statements, when you think its OK to remind you its a rip off charging 20 quid for an Android game? If you are a copywriter, which i highly doubt, then how can you consider NL to be a real review site? The user scores compared to the sites scores show you that, so spare me the "I should know cause.. bla" talk.. its not about the tone its about not ignoring whats on and you just defend whatever its written there .. well, youre a copywriter.. did you copywrite this article?
Btw. another hint, the updated version:
Then later, when Switch should struggle, we should emphasize your strong selling point.
@ricklongo You dont watch much commercial presentations on tv, do you? Anyway, you might just as well read the game description on the developers website.
"is where the Nintendo Switch version of the game differs from its mobile counterparts. In the mobile versions, whilst free to initially download, songs can be unlocked through collecting keys"
If you justify this with a 20quid tag on a new 300quid console, ported from Android. Perfect. One small step for Nintendo, another big step towards the wall.
Just Dance, 1-2-Burned, Bomberman Android Beta and this ..
"Stellar" (someone used that word for the launch somewhere. funny stuff)
@ricklongo No it doesnt, same way not many reviews on here state anything. Wow, 8 out of 10 ... again... for an android mobile port for 20 quid on a brand new "next generation" 300 quid console... yep.
Cant wait for the Mobile FIfa 2018 - will be 9 out of 10 and 29.95$.
You do realise you are digging your own console grave by supporting this? If they make money with this, wohoooo.. why should anyone else bother to port anything than android stuff. I mean its 8 out of 10 with zero effort.
You Have Two Theme Options if You Look Hard Enough
"By default you have the 'Basic White' theme, which is bright enough to make our TV creak on its wall hinges, for some reason. If you go into System Settings and scroll down to 'Themes' though, you can change it to 'Basic Black'".
I mean, read it loud without laughing .. or better yet, read it to someone looking for a new console...I wouldnt really even mention this stuff as a "details to know". Question would be more like, why they dont allow just to chose a wallpaper or more than 2 colors.
Now, why would you pay 19 quid, after you spend like 300quid on your console, to play this? I would guess you can find a used smartphone for 19 and install it on it.
Anyway, its a fun game on ANDROID ....on Switch . .please. Next up is then the "mobile port" of FIfa 2018
@Mega_Yarn_Poochy Not sure, following this statement:
"Rather than trying to compete feature-for-feature with Microsoft or Sony's offerings, Fils-Aimé said that Nintendo's goal for the Switch was in "creating products and experiences that are unique and really can't be copied by our competition""
And Reggies right, you wont have that save-game experience anywhere else.
@Turbo857 Exactly, I keep on telling them but they wont listen. Its not like they would know how to use a docking station or tie their shoes. For those who own the console, you can clearly see that you need to carefully hold your switch 37.5 degrees with your left hand between the sufficient space and the inside of the dock. Just like with those crazy people who put aquariums in their homes and broke their joy cons for unecessarily feeding the fish. Whats this world coming to? Next they will claim that dead pixels are a defect... surreal stuff.
Btw. Since Nintendo designs actually their stuff with KIDS in mind (main target group) - Im sure kids will love memorizing and especially following (every single time) the "correct way" to insert it.. and they will tell all their friends who come around and they will tell the others.. and all switches will remain unscratched and they all live happily ever after.
"Speaking to retailers this morning, Nintendo Switch has sold around 80,000 units in the UK during its opening weekend.
That's double the number of Wii U consoles that were sold during its opening weekend (40,000 back in late 2013).
It's not as high as 3DS' debut, which was 113,000 according to Nintendo. Nor does it come close to the PS4 launch (250,000) or the Xbox One launch (150,000)."
Nintendo should start offering their own weather service....there will be always sunshine....on a rainy day it would go like:
"Guys, its NOT raining, you just look at it the wrong way. Its just little water-drops coming from the sky, but it doesnt mean its rain, it could be anything - just stand 90 degrees on your head staring out of the window with your sunglasses on, and when you focus, you will see a bright star somewhere, thats the sun ...so its sunny, comprende?"
"Small numbers of water drops are a characteristic of a Sunny Day. These are normal and should not be considered rain"
@SanderEvers Thats some good advice. I just hope Nintendo doesnt start producing toilets anytime soon ... just missing steps
6. Carefully stand up and slowly turn around 180 degrees 7. Align your hands ready to clap. Do not start clapping just yet. 8. Start clapping and slowly repeating "Please no scratch"
In case of a scratch.
1. Put your switch back into the box 2. Look for your receipt/bill 3. No matter what, most should be still covered with a simple "money back guarantee" considering it was released 3 days ago. 4. Return it and demand a new set or a full refund. Declare it as broken in worst case scenario (just add the JoyCon issues along when needed)
@Moon "I get that it's a PORTABLE. But just because it's portable doesn't mean it HAS to go in your pocket."
You might want to tell Nintendo to stop putting these weird ideas in peoples heads.. tell them, like when you are the Nintendo CEO, perhaps dont "put it in and out of the pocket" as a demonstration for all the world to see, cause others might get the wrong idea.
@stevenw45 "right now i am working on a new battery technology to make a battery last forever. (with two exceptions) i finally got it working, but now i need to hire a few people to help me find a way to make it smaller than a large brick."
Thats some sort of typo? your perpetuum mobile battery I mean.
You might want to contact NASA or Nintendo, im sure both will pay you any amount desired for the "forever lasting battery".... perhaps Elon Musk would throw in another billion.
The Switch heats up to around 50degrees in docked mode, so that should be considered when using any kind of screen protection. In mobile modus, it can get to around 40 (when playing e.g. Zelda or intensive games). All this can still change in many ways as the hardware hasnt been pushed to its limits yet.
Its differs from an average tablets (of today not years ago) which would be around 25 perhaps. So, if you buy some average cheap tablet protection, I would assume it could be the reason for melting.
Im pretty sure Nintendo knows all this, because now they are charging 28$ for a "premium" (officially licensed) protection filter (with minor success according to reviews)
@PlywoodStick I think Nintendo kind of wants to avoid any sort of direct competition with Sony/Microsoft in that regards because it will make them bleed money (they did try fighting but I didnt see that in recent years) - and I think people tend to compare it with PS4/Xbox because they expect to see similar games on their console (or same ones, especially popular sport titles) and Nintendo is doing nothing to "communicate" their console, especially because the price for the hardware is way too much. So in order to sell me overpriced hardware, they need to convince me with something - in a creative way - but already the UI is laughable because it should be the first "woooooah" effect when I see it for the first time knowing I just bought some overpriced gagdet. The creative way could have been supported with innovative apps making use of the console in more ways than just gaming (as people tend to turn their smartphones into everything)... the list is endless... and next thing you know, Nintendo Switch games will be compared to Android-Versions of AAA Titles but not the real ones themselves. After all, technology goes fast and competition has more air left to breath.
Still a long way for the next game to show off the systems capabilities...but yea, I hope it wont be like on the Wii U, waiting 6months periods for the next "Nintendo release" cause most third party companies are busy counting their money made on the PS4/Xbox.
One thing we can learn from this, one way or another - get ready for a flood of second-hand scratched switches coming to ebay, your trade-in shop of choice, your local fleamarket and craigslist.
Then, most likely, Nintendo will soon release a second batch of switches without this flaw and there will be a "1st gen" & "2nd gen" console price-difference created within the span of 3 months.
I was thinking.. didnt they have this ambassador program back then, when everyone got angry about feeling ripped-off due to a big 3DS price drop? They should do this for "1st gen scratched" clients here.
@PlywoodStick Cant argue with much in that, as it stands it just means its hard to compare both specs directly - but im always referring just to raw power and thats half to me by specs. Its similar to the logic of the desktop and mobile versions of graphiccards, its just not the same league.
Speaking of GTA5 optimized for PS4. You should check out the PS3 version of it I wonder if the switch would be able to do it.
Lastly, speaking of RAM, the samsung chips in the switch are exactly the same samsung is using for their galaxy mobile phones - which are optimized for mobile use and have again a lower power consumption.
@PlywoodStick I wont go into every sentence of it because I believe there is a misunderstanding of processing power and I fully agree the specs are not comparable due to the nature of the consoles, but the point from the start was still the power of it and its still virtually half because all the "overlocked" stuff you mix up to be underpowered compared to "modern processors". I assume you know that this "X1" is also used for Nvidias Shield ANDROID console... thats a hint.
And if you want to continue technically, the X1 is based on the OLD Maxwell architecture, the Geforce 900 series... while if the switch would want to have any chance at all, they would have needed to integrate the real new one which is based on the Geforce 1000 series.
They also use slower ram ... there was an example on some zelda article to show how much power already the Switch needs to use to push Zelda from 720p to 900p and thus creating some choppy situations...you can use this as a benchmark for a crystal clear 60fps 1080p GTA5 on the ps4 ....and i agree they beat the Vita, they finally did, cause the Vita was released in 2011
So following that, their next console will touch the surface of the PS4.
That could be interesting to you. I know the mention they Xbox in this comparison, but anyway, same league and thats what its said about nvidia x1:
"Nvidia's GPU technology is more power-efficient, but it stands to reason that a mobile device (which typically operate with a 5-10W power budget) won't be in the same league."
@Koapa I think what some people overlook is the "complexity" of the issue itself. Probably Stevie Wonder would have noticed it after few days of use himself by feeling the scratches on the screen.
How exactly would you imagine them to have "tested it other way" than "people use it"? Like I would like to imagine that .. its a mobile handheld with a docking-station, and people dock it in their docking station and the issue is coming by docking it into the docking station. Nintendo didnt invent the docking station and virtually everyone has used one or seen one before.
The Joy-Con-Fix "advice" by Nintendo was funny enough, so you mean they would really try now to teach people how to use their docking-station as well?
They should rather just stop this comedy and say "Ok guys, listen, we know there have been some launch issues, sorry for that, let us assure you we will take care of the scratches and consider the bluetooth/wifi issues to be sorted with the next patch" ..but if they now come with another smart advice, people should just return it as "broken" and demand a proper unit or refund. Its only way they will learn.
"Have you invested in a screen protector, or will you be following Westlin's guide and "fixing" the dock?"
Perhaps you should send this article to Nintendo and they could spare another 2cents for each unit in their upcoming production run and include that already?
@Anti-Matter Almost near PS4? Perhaps to illustrate for people what they actually have:
Its perhaps half of the power of the PS4 (which is 199 euro now) and another dimension apart from the PS4 Pro.
Of course its about "optimizing" things, but thats why most third-party companies dont care, it takes way too much time to port an intensive game same way to the switch due to its specs as it was with the Wii U.
Anyway you put it, it makes Nintendos statement look funny claiming they couldnt include 1-2-switch in a bundle due to "price costs" ... based on the hardware compared to the 199 euro ps4, the switch should be 99 Euro.
@OptometristLime True, because Gamespot, Eurogamer, IGN so forth are just 1-man-shows biased paid reviews and they all engage in some sort of conspiracy together.
And then on top, its really hard to follow all these letters and connect them into words, imaging the text in the head for a point, articles have alot of text. Especially when the letters are small and the brain doubts it could all fit inside ....
The worst quality of source must be also coming straight from the developer, who following your logic, has a desire to sabotage its own game by stating publicly there are issues. Thats genius.
@Jeronan @Reoryn @Monkeyofthefunk This is impossible and most likely you all didnt fully follow the updated instructions.
So, push away your aquarium, remove all metal objects from your place, avoid all kinds of wires and cords and make sure to mark a "Switch Area" three to four feet in which NO another wireless device interfere - ANY whatsoever. Perhaps, buy a huge glas-cage and set it up inside your room, put the switch inside and add motion-detector sensors into your room that go off when anyone gets close to it (3-4 feet). To boost your left Joycon to nearly 60% strenght, you can also consider buying an industral signal-blocker to elimate all frequences in your room (like they ones they use at the north korean border). When you want to aim for the stars, then remove your Microwave from your appartment and avoid eating meat on wednesday, that should boost the strenght up to 70% (only when it doesnt rain outside - cause then we are down to 40% again) Always remember, perhaps put a post-it note on the glas-cage, stay clear of all USB 3.0-compatible devices such as hard drives, thumb drives, LAN adapters, LED candles, Mini-Fridges, Keyboards, Mouses. Yes the switch has a USB 3.0 port, but please pretend it doesnt.
In most cases it will be enough to move everything to four feet away from the Nintendo Switch console and/or Joy-Con controllers. However, if you continue to experience this issue, please power off the Nintendo Switch console.
@Deeboy423 "I got stupid drunk just because i was counting on playing BOTW. There is food all over the walls and I have a feeling it isn’t because i was happy."
Just out of curiosity,
So, you prepared for Zelda by drinking? Sounds like a secret cheat code. How much do I need to drink to unlock the superior gaming experience? If I should get stupid drunk and pass out playing, then waking up the next day with a big hangover - do you recommend to stop for a day or is there a stupid amount of painkillers recommendable to continue or perhaps a mix of both?
You mention the "food on the walls" and "a feeling you werent happy" - do I understand right, you got so stupid drunk, you kind of freaked out throwing food around your place and then passing out ....waking up to a trashed room with a blackout puzzling together what happened the day the switch was supposed to arrive?
I kind of like the concept - it could prove helpful for others who already received the switch and struggle with "little issues".
"GameSpot reached out to Nintendo once again following the update's release today and has still not received any comment regarding its stance on the issues."
Perhaps you could reach out to Gamespot and the others following that magic update and make them understand via some jedi trick that "a small handful of people HAD issues.. never proven in the first place.. and anyway, ZERO issues whatsoever AFTER day 1 magic update"
Speaking of "hilarious" stuff, that video regarding the cryptonite kickstand should keep you laughing:
@NEStalgia I realize youre replying for the sake of just writing something but in the interest of anyone else reading this, why dont you also try to convince the rest of the world and edit the wikipedia entry where the switch is categorized as 8th generation:
@NEStalgia "Do we all realize that Nintendo just launched the 9th Gen today, Sony and Microsoft are YEARS away from a 9th gen system (Pro & Scorpio aren't 9th gen, they're clock bumps on their same 8th gen platforms, running the same games, like N3DS, or so they say). And do we all realize nobody has said "next gen" yet?"
Just to correct the mistake above, they did not release a 9th generation console...same reason why NO (major) media even speaks of a "generation leap" ... if you consider the scorpio and pro to be "upgrades" , then sorry, what is this nvidea processor compared to the Wii U? U actually understand the processing power? You have an overpowered tablet.. the Wii U, technically, will even beat the switch at this stage. Show me how you think this is supposed to be 9th generation? I might be wrong but when was FULL HD introduced? 10 years ago? Ah right, in Nintendo-Land, it was in 2020 cause not even the switch can do it with their launch game.
9th generation is funny.. i would say, they dont play in that league anymore.. they arrived somewhere close to the 8th..but not there yet
@MrRJ That was a good post and essentially I believe it reflects what true Nintendo fans are...I got my Nintendo in the 80s.. i think 88 or something.
The N64 was probably the last true great console they did in regards to keeping up with gaming.. the rest of their experiments are fine and worked but never managed to keep the fans.. they "switch" (ho ho) easily when bored.. and thats the case since the gamecube.. the third party support is very important, and as much as people like zelda & mario, they wont spend so much money just to play this and not be able to play anything that the "major" competition worldwide is offering
On top, you add todays social behaviour, online, and interaction of it... and you cant help but feeling Nintendo is trying to do some sort of "Hardcore renegade program" resurrecting everyone who remembers nintendo... but it works only until u see the price and whats offered.. and u move on. Nintendo has become a joke.. this is called a "hybrid" console.. wow.. i can go "outside" and play.. only missing is EVERYTHING that people use and do today.. i have more features to "connect" and "interact" by playing SNAKE on some 10 year old smartphone. Thats the whole issue... doesnt matter how great their games are.. nobody will play them (today - majority) in some junkie way where u spend 12 hours straight with NO connection. U cant even put away ur smartphone when playing upon hearing a noise... this Nintendo is like ... they became retro, and retro is not "todays reality".. its a gimmick... it has been a very bad business move.. and i guess in 2 days (perhaps already tomorrow?) we see the first stats... they look "great"
Hahahah...this is the best ever....this would work in some sort of jehova clan...i cant start commenting on this propaganda article ("yea..is all great..dont worry...move ur hand 90 degrees left when u get up from the couch")
Rest in Piece and sorry for everyone losing money...its like gambling or the stock market...hype couldnt push the poor hardware...and this above is a beyond grasp attitude but fits well for nintendos future....wont be any more hardware issues...
330 ...with nothing and yea, suck it up...move ur hands right and pay up
Very strange review indeed, reminds me more of the text at the back of the gamebox but, perhaps its worth noting that the developer of that game already noticed some issues (by first day reports of users) with it that (miraculously) nobody at Nintendo Life noticed... weird.. hum.. anyway here it is:
"Konami issued a statement about the Super Bomberman R lag, recommending that for battle mode, players don’t use the Joy-Con Grip, but rather change to Handheld Mode or detach the Joy-Con controllers for Tabletop Mode."
Yes, Next-Gen consoles cant handle demanding games like Bomberman anymore, hence:
"we can finally put the Sega Saturn version with its cable-tangling multitap accessory in the cupboard. Support for Switch Pro Controller as well as single and dual Joy-Con play"
No, we cant, and yea, i prefer a 100ft cable stuck to 3 adapters and some multitaps instead of a broken "wireless" connection. Your mentioned "support" for single and dual Joy-Con-play is a (unintended) lie ... so why not actually write the review after testing the game?
Just already by googling "Bomberman Switch Joy Con" you will find plently of videos demonstrating the problems... but no, in the laboratory of NL.. it was "perfectly" smooth and let me repeat again, they dont see any issues with it cause its just a "minor" glitch ... so wait until Link jumps out of the window when your controller detaches.
And no, I dont play 1m away from my 55 inch screen to keep a stable connection.
My theory is: Nintendo went to Konami asking
"Hey, listen, you got any game coming up.. like nothing too fancy.. something you can port very quickly on our new console?" ..
and Konami answered ..
"Sure, we do, we got this nice upcoming android game .. a port of Bomberman .. we will charge 9.99 for it in the google store soon...care to join?"
But Nintendo had other plans
"No No, that wont be necessary, we do like this, we make it 50, we split half half.. but you got only like 4 weeks left and we have virtually nothing, so dont worry, it will be a hit, cause theres nothing else to buy"
Konami looked puzzled but didnt care much as it was a sure-money deal for them..
"Hmm.. yea, well, 4 weeks, eh? .. not sure our touchcontrols will port fine for your lego pads ... but we will try.. you got the pro controller out, right? So worst case, some complain and we issue some apology"
Nintendo didnt seem worried about that
"Nah, come on, we take care of that.. we got Plantinum points to make up.. and on top, everybody loves free wallpapers"
Konami went on to shake hands and voila ... BOMBERMAN SWITCH
A little heads up for all interested, the "Day-One" update has been rolled out .. and guess what?
There is NO change or "improvement" to the disconnects (especially the left controller) and Nintendo has been contacted already by alot of review sites (e.g. eurogamer) for statement - but they stay silent.
You can also contact their customer support - but you wont receive any answer to it (if you actually did, please post it).
So - seems they are preparing some kind of announcement but considering the way they are acting, Im guessing they will have to offer some sort of exchange deal for everyone insisting on proper functionality as this wont go undetected in the world of journalism.
If it would be purely a software issue at this stage, it would have been fixed with that patch (or they are really that slow and bad to react.. which is kind of hard to believe in todays economy)
Anyway, meanwhile while waiting on Nintendo to actually deliver what people paid for, you can go through the wave of "celebration" after the first-day-patch:
@akaDv8R Actually it wasnt, it was 249 and 299 - while the 299 version has 3G along with Wifi - a feature that allows true mobility.
But the thing is, it was in 2011, 6 years ago and had among other things (like bundled games via download codes):
Dual touch pads, dual cameras, an OLED screen, GPS, six-axis motion sensors and a three-axis electronic compass.
6 years ago, so 6 years later we get a plastic screen, no cameras and 1-2-switch for a higher price.
Your controller example is, for me, without any substance because you fail to mention that Sony and Microsoft both bundle a really good controller (especially the PS4 one) which is exactly on par with the pro controller and on top even with more features while you get these 2 lego "joy cons" ... theres nobody who loses money when buying the ps or xbox, cause the (pro) controller is included .. its the other way round where u get ripped off
Ok .. i just played 1-2-Switch ... this is a parody of a retail game. The price was mentioned quite a few times, its insulting, its really true... try this for yourself and let me recommend you especially the "Dice Game" (honestly, this could have been done on a 20euro chinese wii knock off console...and among the 28 games I saw already 2 dice games .. lack of effort?),...then, i forgot the name, the game where u have to guess how many balls are in a box .... hahah.. there are kids who enjoy that? Its even confusing what its supposed to be, like, are you "playing" something? Its less than a DEMO ... how long it took to make that? A bunch of low-budget kickstarters can do that on android.
I didnt try all the mini-games, simply cause I got fed up with it... whats the "fun" of the Zen "game" ? I mean this is supposed to be relaxing? That is ABYSMAL ...
But does it get any worse? Yes, try the "treasure chest game" , amazing stuff.. basically, you just shake the controller.. thats all and thats ALL .. i mean THERES NOTHING MORE.. you shake the controller.. wow
Ok - and heres where i gave up, where i said "f k it .. waste of time" ... the "Quick Draw" game .. this is a slap in the face of everyone who believed to be experiencing something "new".. THIS is essentially a stripped-down, zero-action, zero-fun, nintendo 8-bit light zapper rip-off .. and not even good at it. But it gets better... among the 28 "individual" mini-games, I also found another variation of this draw game.. its the SAME with a minor adjustment.
Essentially the marketing here is like those 99-in-1 game packs where you have like 5 games spread in 99.
Bottom line, Nintendo-Land is a real game and this is less than a tech-demo .. its actually insulting as it makes you feel it doesnt add anything to what you had already with the first wii.
Yes, I didnt try all the mini games, but theres no more point to it ... perhaps fun for one night when someone else pays for it and brings it over... but there is ZERO replay value in any of that.
Ok - and if you really want to throw your switch against the wall in anger because you just spend 50 for 1-2-Money-Burned ... try the "Soda Shake" game.. it will leave you speechless.. and yes, think of the Wii released 11 years ago.. . i would even say most of these games are some "outtakes", "left-overs" from the FIRST wii period.... soda shake proves that.
You just cant release that stuff today.... I mean, lets say among every 10 fanboys there is always one hardcore one who loves it.. and then 2 perhaps say "ok fine"... the problem with these mini-games is more like, you wont find any random group of people enjoying to play crap like "Zen" or "Soda Shake" ... after 2min they go back to playing Fifa2017.
On the 3DS you will release the Mario Sports game... you dont think that kind of stuff would make more sense for the switch then this 2006-era tech demo? Even the Mario game running at 360p resolution with half-assed added motion controls would beat this in the fun factor.
Creme de la creme ... Shovel Knight ... 7 euro NeoGeo titles .. and mobile style nvidia stuff... not bad. Weird, I just tried Neo Geo games on a used 50$ nexus tablet... wow, even works with better resolution but i surely miss the outstanding added online features.
Just to be fair, because Nintendo Life seems to make reviews after 5 minutes of "testing" .. anyway for whoever cares:
The Switch outputs at a maximum of 1080p, with options for 720p and 480p in there too. However, even while docked to a TV, the UI still renders at 720p. When connected to a screen, all the graphics, text, and even the Mii Maker app upscale from 720p to whatever resolution you have set as your output. That's really quite a shame. For the sake of keeping things simple, Switch's front-end seems to keep the native 720p layout used in portable mode, all of which means a less clear image on 1080p or 4K sets. In fact, 4K users will go through two sets of resizing - an internal upscale to 1080p, then the display's bump to ultra HD.
@Jeremyjones12992 hahah I sure do ... else would fall asleep at work .. anyway, that above was my after-work-drink-statement.. and i FULLY stand behind it.. on top, I could even go on, but I want to wait for the sales numbers and "average joe" reviews ...gonna be fun.
One hint: When 1-2-Switch scores 6 OUT OF 10 on "NINTENDO Life", its like a 2 out of 10 in reality... so lets see (and yes, Zelda is a great game, i like it too.. but why buy a console for it)

Ok, i get it, thats the point, if you are happy with your flood of mobile ports, cause it will be anyway the same ,thats why also this company is constantly in decline. Lets see if your arguments will manage to push the console to 4mio this year ...
Re: Review: VOEZ (Switch eShop)
@ricklongo do you actually have any sort of arguments? Nice ignoring everything.. look at your words, nonstop, no substance.
So I wont start the kindergarden fight over your tirade, but I hope your postings are still around when Nintendo reports some "issues" with its switch future.
The only thing thats sad, to use your words, is that people pretend to care so much, like hugging trees to stop wars, and im sure like kids they have a good intention.. but as i said, and i stand to it, history repeats itself and you just fuel it.
Re: Review: VOEZ (Switch eShop)
@buildz Please explain what? "Same marketing they told" .. wasnt hard, was it. You werent around when the Wii U was assaulted with cheap digital games? Come on, now suddenly the Wii U and all the mistakes are not visible here? Its like the same continuation, you have your tablet mobile Wii praising these digital stuff until nobody cares
Yes, tell it also the others ... tell them they will get mobile based ports on their 300quid console. Thats the point .... wont be any painful 4 years, just keep up the support and we cut it in half.
Re: Review: VOEZ (Switch eShop)
@buildz Yea same they told the happy Wii U clients back then .. just relax, buy more android ports.
Oh and no, if nobody cares about the user scores around here, then how much are the paid ones worth.. funny
Re: Review: VOEZ (Switch eShop)
Re: Review: VOEZ (Switch eShop)
Re: Review: VOEZ (Switch eShop)
@ricklongo No it doesnt, same way not many reviews on here state anything. Wow, 8 out of 10 ... again... for an android mobile port for 20 quid on a brand new "next generation" 300 quid console... yep.
Cant wait for the Mobile FIfa 2018 - will be 9 out of 10 and 29.95$.
You do realise you are digging your own console grave by supporting this? If they make money with this, wohoooo.. why should anyone else bother to port anything than android stuff. I mean its 8 out of 10 with zero effort.
Re: Feature: Ten Useful and Fun Little Details to Know About Nintendo Switch
You Have Two Theme Options if You Look Hard Enough
"By default you have the 'Basic White' theme, which is bright enough to make our TV creak on its wall hinges, for some reason. If you go into System Settings and scroll down to 'Themes' though, you can change it to 'Basic Black'".
I mean, read it loud without laughing .. or better yet, read it to someone looking for a new console...I wouldnt really even mention this stuff as a "details to know". Question would be more like, why they dont allow just to chose a wallpaper or more than 2 colors.
Re: Review: VOEZ (Switch eShop)
lol... here we go, the first Android game rivalty for the Nintendo Shield, sorry Switch:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rayark.valkyrie&hl=en
Now, why would you pay 19 quid, after you spend like 300quid on your console, to play this? I would guess you can find a used smartphone for 19 and install it on it.
Anyway, its a fun game on ANDROID ....on Switch . .please. Next up is then the "mobile port" of FIfa 2018
Re: Nintendo Confirms Switch Save Data Is Tied To The Console And Cannot Be Transferred
Re: Nintendo Confirms Switch Save Data Is Tied To The Console And Cannot Be Transferred
@JamesR @audiobrainiac Not confident it will happen anytime soon when their "latest" update is:
and
And the attached "Game Data" is meant for this for the time being:
Not saying its not happening in the future, but there is zero sign whatssoever from Nintendo. I would rather think its a source of income.
Re: Nintendo Confirms Switch Save Data Is Tied To The Console And Cannot Be Transferred
"The news that it's not possible to transfer data to another Switch system is a blow"
What Nintendo news isnt lately?
Fits well with the gigantic default storage solution.
Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch Dock Scratching Your Screen? Try This DIY Fix
Re: GameStop Describes Nintendo Switch Launch as "One of the Strongest" in Recent Years
Speaking of the "one of the strongest launches":
"Speaking to retailers this morning, Nintendo Switch has sold around 80,000 units in the UK during its opening weekend.
That's double the number of Wii U consoles that were sold during its opening weekend (40,000 back in late 2013).
It's not as high as 3DS' debut, which was 113,000 according to Nintendo. Nor does it come close to the PS4 launch (250,000) or the Xbox One launch (150,000)."
Re: Nintendo Switch With Dead Pixels? It's Not A Defect, Claims Nintendo
Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch Dock Scratching Your Screen? Try This DIY Fix
@SanderEvers Thats some good advice. I just hope Nintendo doesnt start producing toilets anytime soon ... just missing steps
6. Carefully stand up and slowly turn around 180 degrees
7. Align your hands ready to clap. Do not start clapping just yet.
8. Start clapping and slowly repeating "Please no scratch"
In case of a scratch.
1. Put your switch back into the box
2. Look for your receipt/bill
3. No matter what, most should be still covered with a simple "money back guarantee" considering it was released 3 days ago.
4. Return it and demand a new set or a full refund. Declare it as broken in worst case scenario (just add the JoyCon issues along when needed)
Problem solved & Repeat until Nintendo fixes it
Re: GameStop Describes Nintendo Switch Launch as "One of the Strongest" in Recent Years
@HollowGrapeJ Actually, Dualshock 4 Controllers are 45$ currently on amazon - and the MRSP was always 59.99$ (black one)
Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch Dock Scratching Your Screen? Try This DIY Fix

Re: This Epic Nintendo Switch Teardown Isn't For The Faint Of Heart
@stevenw45 "right now i am working on a new battery technology to make a battery last forever. (with two exceptions) i finally got it working, but now i need to hire a few people to help me find a way to make it smaller than a large brick."
Thats some sort of typo? your perpetuum mobile battery I mean.
You might want to contact NASA or Nintendo, im sure both will pay you any amount desired for the "forever lasting battery".... perhaps Elon Musk would throw in another billion.
Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch Dock Scratching Your Screen? Try This DIY Fix
@The__Goomba it happened but how much truth there is, no idea. I would assume its due to cheap material and/or cheap material to make it stick.
https://imgur.com/a/BdGUQ
The Switch heats up to around 50degrees in docked mode, so that should be considered when using any kind of screen protection. In mobile modus, it can get to around 40 (when playing e.g. Zelda or intensive games). All this can still change in many ways as the hardware hasnt been pushed to its limits yet.
Its differs from an average tablets (of today not years ago) which would be around 25 perhaps. So, if you buy some average cheap tablet protection, I would assume it could be the reason for melting.
Im pretty sure Nintendo knows all this, because now they are charging 28$ for a "premium" (officially licensed) protection filter (with minor success according to reviews)
https://www.amazon.com/Officially-Licensed-Premium-Protective-Filter-Nintendo/dp/B01NCX8UUG/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1488766335&sr=8-8&keywords=nintendo+switch+protection

I guess Stevie Wonder is back at Nintendo handing out all these contracts to low-budget companies hidding behind the Nintendo logo.
Re: This Epic Nintendo Switch Teardown Isn't For The Faint Of Heart
Wow, we finally solved the mystery of the broken Joy-Cons
Im sorry but my 8-bit controller works fine since day one over 25 years ago
Re: Hardware Review: Nintendo Switch: Nintendo's Most Important Console Yet
Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch Dock Scratching Your Screen? Try This DIY Fix
Re: Hardware Review: Nintendo Switch: Nintendo's Most Important Console Yet
Re: Hardware Review: Nintendo Switch: Nintendo's Most Important Console Yet
They also use slower ram ... there was an example on some zelda article to show how much power already the Switch needs to use to push Zelda from 720p to 900p and thus creating some choppy situations...you can use this as a benchmark for a crystal clear 60fps 1080p GTA5 on the ps4 ....and i agree they beat the Vita, they finally did, cause the Vita was released in 2011
So following that, their next console will touch the surface of the PS4.
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2016-nintendo-switch-spec-analysis
Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch Dock Scratching Your Screen? Try This DIY Fix
Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch Dock Scratching Your Screen? Try This DIY Fix
"Have you invested in a screen protector, or will you be following Westlin's guide and "fixing" the dock?"
Perhaps you should send this article to Nintendo and they could spare another 2cents for each unit in their upcoming production run and include that already?
Re: Hardware Review: Nintendo Switch: Nintendo's Most Important Console Yet
Re: Review: Super Bomberman R (Switch)
@pandarino Adjusted now:
Re: Review: Super Bomberman R (Switch)
@OptometristLime You want a summary because its too much to read for yourself? Thats some comedy stand-up routine youre pulling here?
Re: Review: Super Bomberman R (Switch)
@OptometristLime True, because Gamespot, Eurogamer, IGN so forth are just 1-man-shows biased paid reviews and they all engage in some sort of conspiracy together.
And then on top, its really hard to follow all these letters and connect them into words, imaging the text in the head for a point, articles have alot of text. Especially when the letters are small and the brain doubts it could all fit inside ....
The worst quality of source must be also coming straight from the developer, who following your logic, has a desire to sabotage its own game by stating publicly there are issues. Thats genius.
Re: Nintendo Provides Official Advice for Switch Joy-Con Connection Issues
When you want to aim for the stars, then remove your Microwave from your appartment and avoid eating meat on wednesday, that should boost the strenght up to 70% (only when it doesnt rain outside - cause then we are down to 40% again)
Always remember, perhaps put a post-it note on the glas-cage, stay clear of all USB 3.0-compatible devices such as hard drives, thumb drives, LAN adapters, LED candles, Mini-Fridges, Keyboards, Mouses.
Yes the switch has a USB 3.0 port, but please pretend it doesnt.
In most cases it will be enough to move everything to four feet away from the Nintendo Switch console and/or Joy-Con controllers. However, if you continue to experience this issue, please power off the Nintendo Switch console.
Re: Delivery Issues Spoil Nintendo Switch Launch Day for Unlucky UK Buyers
Re: Delivery Issues Spoil Nintendo Switch Launch Day for Unlucky UK Buyers
What happened to that amazing Gameseek offer that everyone was raving about some weeks ago?
Anyone on here has send his picture yet?
Re: Review: Super Bomberman R (Switch)
@MadAdam81 I like that "everybody with a brain" statement.. .anyway, there seems to be a worldwide conspiracy claiming otherwise:
http://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-switch-day-one-updates-effect-on-joy-con-/1100-6448378/
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2017-switch-joy-cons-tested-are-there-really-de-sync-issues

Speaking of the "most important console yet", if you thought the current issues are bad enough:
http://www.polygon.com/2017/3/3/14805574/nintendo-switch-hardware-issues-screen
Some were more lucky and received at least error-codes .. seems Nintendo is replacing these consoles. Will be interesting.

Re: Hardware Review: Nintendo Switch: Nintendo's Most Important Console Yet
@NEStalgia I realize youre replying for the sake of just writing something but in the interest of anyone else reading this, why dont you also try to convince the rest of the world and edit the wikipedia entry where the switch is categorized as 8th generation:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game_console
Ah right, the 9th is not even as a category mentioned, why not?
Re: Hardware Review: Nintendo Switch: Nintendo's Most Important Console Yet
Re: Hardware Review: Nintendo Switch: Nintendo's Most Important Console Yet
U cant even put away ur smartphone when playing upon hearing a noise... this Nintendo is like ... they became retro, and retro is not "todays reality".. its a gimmick... it has been a very bad business move.. and i guess in 2 days (perhaps already tomorrow?) we see the first stats... they look "great"
Re: Nintendo Provides Official Advice for Switch Joy-Con Connection Issues
Hahahah...this is the best ever....this would work in some sort of jehova clan...i cant start commenting on this propaganda article ("yea..is all great..dont worry...move ur hand 90 degrees left when u get up from the couch")
Rest in Piece and sorry for everyone losing money...its like gambling or the stock market...hype couldnt push the poor hardware...and this above is a beyond grasp attitude but fits well for nintendos future....wont be any more hardware issues...
330 ...with nothing and yea, suck it up...move ur hands right and pay up
Re: Review: Super Bomberman R (Switch)
Re: Hardware Review: Nintendo Switch: Nintendo's Most Important Console Yet
Anyway, meanwhile while waiting on Nintendo to actually deliver what people paid for, you can go through the wave of "celebration" after the first-day-patch:
http://kotaku.com/switch-owners-are-still-reporting-joy-con-connectivity-1792928040
Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch Launch Day Shopping List: Micro SD Cards, Controllers And Accessories
Your controller example is, for me, without any substance because you fail to mention that Sony and Microsoft both bundle a really good controller (especially the PS4 one) which is exactly on par with the pro controller and on top even with more features while you get these 2 lego "joy cons" ... theres nobody who loses money when buying the ps or xbox, cause the (pro) controller is included .. its the other way round where u get ripped off
Re: Review: 1-2-Switch (Switch)
Ok .. i just played 1-2-Switch ... this is a parody of a retail game.
Re: The Launch Line-Up on the European Nintendo Switch eShop
Creme de la creme ... Shovel Knight ... 7 euro NeoGeo titles .. and mobile style nvidia stuff... not bad. Weird, I just tried Neo Geo games on a used 50$ nexus tablet... wow, even works with better resolution but i surely miss the outstanding added online features.
Re: Hardware Review: Nintendo Switch: Nintendo's Most Important Console Yet
Plug & Play 2017, Cheerio everyone

@PlywoodStick Obviously, as usual lately, the answer is a "No"

Im surprised they didnt limit the USB to v1.0
Re: Hardware Review: Nintendo Switch: Nintendo's Most Important Console Yet
@Jeremyjones12992 hahah I sure do ... else would fall asleep at work .. anyway, that above was my after-work-drink-statement.. and i FULLY stand behind it.. on top, I could even go on, but I want to wait for the sales numbers and "average joe" reviews ...gonna be fun.
One hint: When 1-2-Switch scores 6 OUT OF 10 on "NINTENDO Life", its like a 2 out of 10 in reality... so lets see (and yes, Zelda is a great game, i like it too.. but why buy a console for it)
