Re: Miyamoto Confirms Next Wii U System Update Is Already In Development

hypercoyote

1) Cross-platform purchases (ie, buy the game, but get it on both 3DS and WiiU)
2) In relation to the above, credit for any games you have on both systems.
3) Folders on the home screen (like the 3DS allows you to create)
4) Credit for any games that are lost when merging two eShop accounts that have purchased the same game (currently the one copy of the game just disappears).

Bonus) An awesome capability would be the ability to let others "borrow" your games. For 24 hours you can let someone play the same game you own given the condition that you can't play it during that same time period. It'd be a great way to let people try something new that doesn't necessarily have a demo available. This would only apply to digital content, of course.

Re: Christian First-Person Shooter Super Noah's Ark 3D Is Sailing Back To The SNES

@Damo @Yorumi Given your explanation, then I did come to the wrong conclusion. The only reason is, that statement parallels one of the most common insults slung at Christians which is that they are 'stuck in the past', 'following an oudated book', etc. Forgive me for taking it that way, but given that it's a fairly common slur, I don't think it was as much of a stretch as it's being made out to be. But I don't think anyone is arguing that the games this company makes are garbage.

@DerrickC Naw, I don't think I've ever played one I considered a good game. The thing is, they could be really clever. Unlike the normal hack and slash where you rely entirely on your own experience and resources, at some points in the game you should come to an enemy that is absolutely impossible to beat, and you suddenly realize it's because you forgot to seek God before the battle. It'd take a lot of planning out and a lot of innovative ideas, but I think there's enough source material there to come up with some pretty epic games. But like I said, you still need some talented developers to make it happen. And most of those developers are only looking to work for money and not for the Master.

@Prof_Elvin_Gadd I don't think anyone was defending the company, but that's pretty funny. It wouldn't be the first time someone tried to do something shady in the name of religion.

@Yorumi lol, well, they do set themselves up as a lightning rod, though the comments in the article were reaching deeper than the company itself. But I agree, there's room for some great Kingdom-centered games on the market. It's just a matter of talented people willing to come together for the sake of Christ and not profit, because the odds are, they are not going to sell like Call of Duty no matter how good they are (though who am I to limit God?).

Re: SpillPass-Pi Could be a Clever Workaround for All The StreetPass Hits You Need

hypercoyote

I'm surprised to see this reported on here too. I take advantage of the "HomePass" due to the fact that it's not really feasible to make multiple trips to McDonald's or the AT&T store (only two places in my town) to get the hits I need to do anything in my games. But I feel it falls in a grey area as I'm sure the point of partnering with those places was increased traffic to their establishments.

Re: Wii Sports Club Will Download Automatically With SpotPass

hypercoyote

@wombatkidd Sorry, did I ever make a claim that I had total knowledge of the workings of SpotPass? I don't believe I ever made that claim, in fact I believe I established that I didn't. What @BrightBeing said and what @BrightBeing meant are two totally different things. It would be obvious to someone who has knowledge of that fact, not at all obvious to someone who doesn't. I can see that this conversation is very important to you though, so I will concede and allow you have the victory. You Win!!

Re: Wii Sports Club Will Download Automatically With SpotPass

hypercoyote

@wombatkidd It appears, from what you wrote, that you didn't read both of the posts I was responding to. The response you are referring to was to someone who was saying I should turn off SpotPass entirely (not just software updates, which I was unaware was a separate setting until @AVahne posted a helpful response). Obviously that (turning off SpotPass altogether) is a sledgehammer approach to the problem, hence my response. So yes, what you have stated is absolutely true and makes perfect sense. However, the sarcastic joke is lost since that's not what I was saying at all and you really just look silly now. But good try.

Re: Wii Sports Club Will Download Automatically With SpotPass

hypercoyote

@AVahne Okay, I didn't realize they segmented out the updates you receive on SpotPass, that's different then. Though I do still think that's a really large update to push.

@BrightBeing That's not really a feasible solution, now is it? That's like saying someone should disable their email because they don't like SPAM or cut off their cable service because they don't like adverts.

Re: Ubisoft Explains Wii U Watch_Dogs Visuals as "In Between" Current and Next-Gen

hypercoyote

Man, I'm disappointed to hear there's not really any extra Gamepad features, the Wii U really could add a lot to this game. If that's the case, I would most likely end up getting the PS4 version to be real and get the better graphics. I want to show the WiiU version love but it seems like a downgrade to me. The games that will shine on the Wii U will be games designed FOR the Wii U, not ported to it.

Re: DuckTales: Remastered Coming to Retail on Wii U in North America

hypercoyote

Awesome, glad I waited to get it now! Glad to see another game offering a retail option for a slightly higher premium. I think it sends a good message that yes, there are people who still want physical copies. If money savings is the reason for digital only, follow this trend and add a little bit into the price!
