Re: Koji Igarashi on the Wii U Port of Bloodstained

huxxny

as a backer, i've been slightly dissapointed by the annoucement of the delay, so i was expecting to get an NX or Steam version instead since then... i love igavania too much to wish another Mighty no9 fiasco when it comes to porting it, and ending up getting the lesser version...

when i backed the project with the WiiU version, all i really wanted was a "nintendo" version, so i'm basically fine with a switch for the NX, even tho they promised me a WiiU version... i don't care, i just want my copy, and i want it to be good, which as better chance to be if its on a better system... also i hope for the game to be successful, so i wouldn't want them to release it on an unrelevent platforms anyway...

Re: Former Sony Boss Jack Tretton Lavishes Praise On Nintendo And The Wii

huxxny

There's a reason why they keep the NX secret... i was hoping for a 3ds Player for the WiiU like they did a GB Player for the GC... maybe the NX is kinda that mixed with an upgraded WiiU that you can use the gamepad as a handheld, which would kinda be the best of both world, besides game that run on cartridge are faster and last longer than disk, so... yeah i'm optimistic, i just hope they got Solid launch titles, and that could be it for them!! ;D

Re: My Nintendo Adds More Rewards for Discounts in Europe

huxxny

@Discipledoctor not only that, but nintendo KNOWS that almost only america cares about metroid, yet, there's no sign of the samus theme... like they couldn't even give us THAT...

seriously tho, they better be "working on" updating the NOA rewards, cuz as it is right now, we're getting pretty much less choices then before, like no new discounts, not even a single digital title available to exchange... this CAN'T be it...

Re: Review: Quest of Dungeons (Wii U eShop)

huxxny

my favorite roguelike is still Dungeons of Dredmor, and even tho i've played many iterations of the genre over the years, it never came close to be as awesome...

all those roguelike and roguelite each have their own take on the genre and often they are a fresh experience that deserve to be experienced... most of the time... but very rarely are they deserving the be associated with the actual game that started it all...

not long ago we got Tallowmere, which is pretty much an action platformer that has many of the elements that defines roguelike, but was lacking in terms of diversity eventually... still, i had and still have a lot of fun with it...

now Quest of Dungeons is closer to an actual roguelike looks like, in terms of playability and mechanics, like the fact that its turn based, and like the article said, its simple and accessible, with a neat presentation, and since its a cross-buy title, you can take it on the go... (which might end up where i'll play this one the most)

i like it alot so far, its not as complexe as some good old roguelike that you can find on steam or elsewhere, but it definitly deliver if you just want a fix of classical roguelike gameplay...

i would have give it a solid 7 out of 10 more than a 8, since its a beautiful game, and seems to do everything right so far, i'm just scared that it will eventually lack the depth that this genre deserve... (here's hoping i'm wrong and it end up being a 9/10 )

if you've never played a true roguelike, i highly recommend it, but if you're already a fan of games like Dungeons of Dredmor, unless you're looking for a lite equivalent on the wiiu with cute graphix, meh, idk, maybe you can skip it...

hope this will help some or you

Re: Poll: What Are Your Most Anticipated Wii U and 3DS Games For the Rest of 2016?

huxxny

All i can think right now is: WHENNNNNNNN??????
i really, REALLY want to play SteamWorld Heist in HD, but since i live in NoA...

Other than that, shantae, forma8 and antipole are the games i'm waiting for the most, but hollow knight, stardew valley and super destronaut 2 are close 2nd...

oh and i already own severed so there that for my 3ds...

Re: UK Retailer Tesco Adds Nintendo NX Order Page With £349.99 Price

huxxny

@jimi imho, the main reason the WiiU didn't do well was poor marketing, lack of support from 3rd party dev and bad press... and the last one is not mention often, but it sure played a big role in its demise, since even today, when most media speak about the current generation of console, they only mention xbone and ps4 which give you an idea of how much its mocked and ignored by the press...

Re: UK Retailer Tesco Adds Nintendo NX Order Page With £349.99 Price

huxxny

@jimi well, iirc, it was still "relatively" affordable, since the other console were likee 499$ or more... and once again, taking the inflation in considaration, the old NES and SNES were not that affordable, 200$ in the 80' was considerably way more money than 200$ today... so yeah, the WiiU didn't cost that much in perspective!!

Re: Nintendo Download: 29th September (Europe)

huxxny

@SLIGEACH_EIRE ok, to clarify, THIS IS NOT day one dlc, the game has been out for a while now, this is only "day1" of the WiiU version being available... SWH was a beautiful and solid game way before the release of The Outsider's dlc and the fact that it is available has NOTHING to do with the phenomenon called "day one dlc" it is utterly wrong to even make a comparaison...

if you wanted to make a ligitimate complain you could have highlighted the fact that it would have been great for SWH to be a cross-buy software, or that, at the very least, the ppl who already possess the game should have a discount for the WiiU version... instead of making up some fallacy about day 1 dlc...

Re: Nintendo Download: 29th September (Europe)

huxxny

gdi, my wallet is gonna take a beating this week... SWH, FAST, Soul Axiom and Quest of Dungeons... all at once?! why?! D:
can't wait to finally play Heist in HD and try the new tracks for FAST tho!! xD

Re: Rumour: NX Entering Trial Production At Foxconn, Annual Output Pegged At 10 Million

huxxny

@ericwithcheese2 look, i'm sorry but i'm reading the same article and it doesn't say much, tho it imply, ONCE AGAIN, (if you read between the lines) that a reveal is possibly near, which IN ITSELF in NOT news...

i mean, pardon my lack of enthusiasm when another rumor hint vaguely at an NX announcement from nintendo, but completly agree with ur post where you say: «I'm personal thrilled at this news. I'll take an article like this over a talking head being vague about how "incredible" it is anyway.», i just wish i was capable of being this excited like this, but like you said, i'm just numb to it, jaded, "blasé" being a french word but expressing it best... enought hype for me already...

all i'm asking is that we talk about the NX when we actually know what we're talking about... and like many have said, i kinda naively hope too that they simply call it the NX for real, i'm used to it now, and its a good name, way better than Wii U...

Re: Ubisoft CEO: "Nintendo Has Learned from the Wii U"

huxxny

@gcunit yep, pretty much said nothing, this whole thread pretty much says nothing, except that we are all (for the most part at least for what i can see) tired of waiting for the NX reveal... and the sad truth is, we might have to wait a bit longer if nothing is announced this october... -_-

Re: Review: Citadale (Wii U eShop)

huxxny

so i watched some gameplay i could found on youtube, and it sure look kinda mediocre, not to mention some sprites and sound fx are clearly "borrowed" from the original franchise... still, unless its overcosted, i'm gonna give this one a try, my love for Castlevania and, well, lets just call it my morbid curiosity, are gonna have the best of me and my wallet once again!! xD

man do i wish they finally release the DS Castlevania at some point, (which i haven't played yet) or at least Rondo from the TG16 (i have it on wii vc, but save states are really neat for practice) !!

Re: Nintendo Download: 22nd September (North America)

huxxny

Severed, Laser Blaster, (i was waiting for those 2) Dual Core, and possibly The Amazing Spiderman 2 while they are on discount... on 3ds, Noah's Cradle, the free sonic theme and i'll add River City TR on my wish list...
Still, where's Pokémon Snap?!

Re: Nintendo is Now 127 Years Old

huxxny

would be great if they release a cards game based off the hanafuda playing cards, or, idk, the pokémon tcg as a freeware for the wiiu... i know, i'm dreaming, but still, the pokémon tcg on wiiu would be a great success, i,m pretty sure...
happy birthday big n, to 127 more years of innovations and success!! ;D

Re: Nintendo NX Is "Fantastic" And "Something New", Says Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot

huxxny

@Samurai_Goroh got NFS on VC not long after i bought my wiiu since i wanted a good racing game... critics and other users on miiverse for exemple say its great, but if you're a fan of the old NFS and like to, idk, use MANUEL transmission for exemple, or play using the bumper view (its too low you won't see where ur going if you use it...) forget about this one, i mean its not a bad game, its just not a good racing experience if you a veteran of the series or of good old racing simulation game of the likes of gran turismo 1 & 2... i picked it up again not long ago, and i had some fun with it, but its too arcady for me...

Re: Nintendo NX Is "Fantastic" And "Something New", Says Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot

huxxny

@Mogster hey, i'm just saying i,m geting jaded, tired of all those speculations, i'm not telling NL to stop writing articles or anything, its just my opinion, i'm sorry if you take it too negatively or seriously or something, like, wow...

besides, there's plenty of articles here that have nothing to do with the NX or its supposedly upcoming reveal, just look around, they have enough to talk about... and i already said i'm sorry for my lack of excitement in my original comment, so... xD

Re: Nintendo NX Is "Fantastic" And "Something New", Says Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot

huxxny

i'm so tired of speculations and theories/rumors about the NX, can't we just talk about it once its been revealed officially, in a direct or something, hopefully soon (apparently), but just, please, stop already... -_-

we have a fairly good idea of what's its gonna be, still ppl will be dissapointed and other will be oddly surprised when its finally revealed for real, but until then, what's the point...?!

i'm sorry, i'm just "blasé" when it comes to the NX overhyped train...

Re: Editorial: Losing It All - When a Wii U's External Hard Drive Dies

huxxny

@SKTTR omg, that's terrible, i didn't know about that stupid 300 games limit, and i might very soon hit it...

also, @JaxonH i must say ur not the 1st one i heard saying seagate are terrible, but so far i was lucky enough to never have any trouble with mine... let's just hope it stay that way...

Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns Swings to the North American Wii U VC This Week

huxxny

already have it on disk and on 3ds tx to club nintendo, but i might eventually get it on VC just for convenience sake so that i have it side by side with the rest of the kong's... besides, my father like it alot and i already gave him my wii and my old physical copies of the mario galaxy games, so he's gonna be happy to have this one to add to his collection...!! ;D

Re: Random: The First Skunk Bundle is Free on the North American eShop Right Now

huxxny

man how cheesy is this voice in the trailer? haha xD

yeah those looks terrible, but somehow they look better than some crap i actually paid money for from RCMADIAX and the such, so i might actually try them, and besides i have a special folder on my wiiu where i put all those games call TRASH, its like a horror museum that i keep just to remind me of how terrible some shovelware are and to show my friends when they come by... ;D

also i found it funny how everyone is like «i took the 40 gold coins but stop the download before it got to far»... yeah, like you are litterally scare that this bundle is gonna stink out of ur wiiu, or that it's like a virus or something... -_-

come on guys, those games are for free, ur not gonna die if you try them, you might actually have fun (probably not) or at least have a good laugh of how terrible they are, and have a funny story to tell later... ;D

Re: Editorial: Losing It All - When a Wii U's External Hard Drive Dies

huxxny

i'm using a 2TB External Hard Drive from Seagate like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Expansion-3-5-Inch-External-STBV2000100/dp/B00834SJS0

never had any problems (and hoping it stay that way) except that some indie games are not 100% fully optimised to work while stored on HDD since some glitches or crashes may occur while playing them, with such titles as Gunman Clive HD Collection, The Fall, and probably plenty more (i have a huge backlog so i haven't tested all the indies i have yet) but it recently happen again with a twin stick shooter, Tachyon Project, and since i put it on the internal system memory it haven't crash yet (now i'm not saying that was the problem, but i assume it was)... apparently some game can't stand the very, extremely small delay that the transfer of data from the HDD can cause...

now this is not a huge issue but since no one else mention it, i thought i would share the info... ;D

oh and yeah, i agree, its sucks that nintendo is using old technology, but clouds are costly and i like my free online experience i'm having so far, so i guess its a matter of choosing the better or worst of 2 evils, and even if the NX's data system is outdated, it would be sad and shameful, but not unexpected from them... if you ask me, they better have an awfully impressive library if they want to sell any units, cuz even old time fans like me who only had a playstation once and only nintendo console for the past 30y, are getting bored and jaded at this point...

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Now Battles for Our Time, Not Just Loyalty

huxxny

incredibly huge backlog is a thing, and more than ever, games really do sell console, since the only reason why i would be interested to get the NX so far is if they offer me something that i REALLY want such as a new Metroid Prime, F-Zero or some awesome Exclusives, like unique AAA titles only available on there...

i mean, i bought my WiiU for Mario Kart, Zelda and hopefully a new Metroid or F-Zero... so far i only enjoyed Mario Kart 8... and don't get me wrong, i love my WiiU, even more so than most of my other consoles... i'm just dissapointed that the games i bought the console for never came to be a thing... and when LoZ BotW finally launch on both WiiU and NX... unless the NX is incredibly appealing and offer something unique that i feel like "i must experience that now"... i don't see any reason so buy it near launch...

My only hope for the NX is for it to have the best launch titles possible, which they seems to be working on since they stop releasing anything new for the WiiU, sitting on those new titles for the release of the NX, so maybe we'll be interested in considering this new platform...

Re: Nintendo Download: 15th September (North America)

huxxny

@keresmatic no, u only get a 50% discount if you own of the 2 version, so the 1st is 9$ and the 2nd is 4.50$... i'm tempted to get the wiiu version, but it would have been an instant buy if it was crossbuy...

i'm picking Grand Prix RnR for sure, still thinking about Naitu Love, tho i've already picked up Explody Bomb for 0.01$ which wasn't mention in the article, but it does look like fairly awful game, even for 1cent... xD
mainwhile i'm also considering Master Reboot and Tachyon Project from the discount list, those looks promessing...

now on 3ds, nothing really interesting for me, or that i didn't own already, so maybe naitu love if i get it on wiiu, but just maybe...

Re: Poll: The GameCube is 15 Years Old - Pick Your Favourite Games

huxxny

i bought the GC the day Metroid Prime launched, came back home with it and F-Zero GX... forgot i needed a memory card... played the hell out of those 2 games for the rest of the day up until very late in the morning, and went back the next day to get a memory card... still to this day, those are 2 of my fav games of all times!! ;D

Re: Grand Prix Rock 'N Racing Gets Close to the Finish Line on Wii U

huxxny

@samuelvictor the same happen to me, i ended up buying both and being pretty dissapointed at first, but once you give them a chance and understand that the cars control way more realisticaly than the original off-road, the games are quite enjoyable imho... then again, i'm not saying those games are amazing, but driving while keeping in mind that the physics are kinda realistic, letting go of the gaz here and there, using the brakes at the right moment and it almost work like a charm, at least for me...

i'm definitly buying this one, maybe not day one, will depend on the pricing and if there something new in the eshop that look more convincing...

@spizzamarozzi i've seen that TNT Racers a couple of time and come close to buy it everytime some next time, i'll give it a shot!!

Re: Review: Tallowmere (Wii U eShop)

huxxny

@Pahvi yeah, when there's procedurally generated contents and permadeath the general public usually call it roguelike, but i think the appropriate term is roguelite when its not turn-based and that you still keep some progression like achievements!

Games like Dungeons of Dredmor or Sword of the Stars: The Pit on steam are more "Like" the original Rogue, but modern indie studios often opt for a more "Lite" approche hence the slight difference in nomenclature...
