The title of this article is a bit confusing, somewhat misleading even. It essentially implies that the internet got the studio to reverse or otherwise change their direction. Which they haven't.

So that actually speaks to my point. All their eggs are in one basket now (3DS isn't a real player for them any more). They have to essentially hit home runs on everything. Now, the good news is that they currently are. This momentum must be sustained.

Are you sure you aren't just angry at the prospects of them actually being true? Did you day 1 buy a Switch and would feel slighted if the rumors became true?

@thesilverbrick I'd imagine the eventual Pro model will be more inline with the PS4 Pro, in that, all games are supported across both platforms with a few graphical/performance adjustments.

The biggest thing that stands out here is the sheer drop off of software numbers from Wii/DS era to Wii U/3DS era.

Nintendo has to keep Switch at 2017 numbers or they'll be right back to a Wii U + 3DS era again.

Speaking of which, because of this article I went onto the Xbox store last night, discovered and promptly purchased RF2 (original xbox version) for $2.24 lol

Even better, it's apparently One X Enhanced? So it runs at 4k and 60 fps which is kind of hilarious and awesome.

Something Mario Maker showed me very quickly was that I have very little desire to actually construct my own custom Mario levels to play in. Loved the level sharing mode though because I played the crap out of other people's creations.

One dude on there even made an entire game's worth of levels, like 9 worlds.

This is random. But like @Indominus_B said, reminds me of Red Faction 2 on GCN which I probably sunk more hours in than any xbox fan did with Halo at the time.

I would run 4 player MP on a 27" screen with bots and it would be a mad house. I think there was also some anti-gravity or low gravity map?

All that said, I don't think this game was anything like RF2 or the original for that matter. Isn't it also a 3rd person view?

@dystome I wouldn't go so far as to say it's oddly under-represented. There's a whole litany of genres under-represented on Nintendo consoles, every generation.

In fact, I think the GCN was the last console to largely mirror the genre output of its competitors. Wii was close, but had too many "spin off" versions of games as opposed to carbon copies.

I'd sure hope they were "winning" it, considering it's all Switch has going for it any more these days, in between sparse 1st party title releases. And no, generation old AAA remakes do not count.

The switch pro needs to hurry up and release so more titles like DOOM can come to the system.

Just like others have pontificated, probably coming to the switch pro... thing.

The Switch "Pro" just needs to happen. It's the nature of technology and the video game industry anymore. The current iteration of switch cannot last for much longer and remain competitive and desirable (either this, or they need to drastically reduce the asking price).

The lite version of switch being proposed, may not even be called a "switch" at all tbh.

@jobvd it really signified the beginning of the end for Nintendo, in terms of being the industry leader. It kicked off what eventually would become Nintendo's transition into the "niche" crowd, looking to move into a different lane from its competitors (especially after the GCN failed) with the likes of Wii and Switch.

So glad I went over to another console this generation. Nintendo just seems to be stuck in 3rd gear. My tastes have evolved.
