On a serious note, cross-play is the future. If Sony wants to remain in the stone age that's their prerogative. The market will leave them behind anyway

The bigger issue is how mismanaged internal SE studios are. Between this, KH 3, FF VII remake and the still in development expansions for FF XIV and XV, one has to wonder how they consistently mess up timeframes and development times

@Hughesy I know it's on a custom engine and I gave you an example of a game that runs on different engines (with one version running on the cloud) and featuring cross-play. But of course that doesn't suit your argument so you haven't addressed it

@Sanangelo89 I mean he can repeat it a thousand times, that still wouldn't be what EA said. So unless he's working on the game's netcode and knows exactly what's happening with FIFA 19, I'll take EA's word over some random on the internet.

@Hughesy not even close. There's been games (like DQ 10) with cross-play between the original Wii, the 3DS and the PS4. FIFA 19 would be a piece of cake compared to that

@KingdomHeartsFan the team that made it has always been focused on casual games, some of the same people made 1-2 Switch. There's always teams within Nintendo making these type of games, it's nothing new

@mobor what are you even talking about? The regular n3DS is not produced anymore but all other versions are. Plenty here in the UK and many other European countries

I do believe that Microsoft will try one more time since Phil said that the next Xbox is already in development but yeah they might ditch the concept sometime in the future. What corporate apologists don't understand is that openness across platforms is the future. There was a time when Ms office wasn't available for Macs, just to use one example. Now it's available on everything, Windows, Mac, Android, you name it. Exclusives will always have a place for sure, as the case of Netflix Vs Amazon shows, but there's not a single reason something like FIFA (or Fortnite or Minecraft and so on) is not available for everyone to cross-play if they so wish. Closed platforms are a thing of the past, and Sony better get on with the times

Love how corporate apologists are all like "but 80 million consoles sold" "killer exclusive lineup" blah blah blah as if they will see any of that money or gain anything by defending Sony. Every era has its useful idiots. This is one where they don't even get paid for it

@NinjaSyao totally agree on Bandai Namco as well as Capcom, they got what they deserved. But some of the others deserved better

@frogopus yeah alongside some of the others like that new game from GungHo and Arena of Valor. That was too fast and I don't really understand the rush, nobody is making them have the direct just for 45 minutes, half of which will be spent on Smash. Make it an hour and spend some time talking about all these games

Looks amazing, I just wish it wasn't included in a highlight reel with another 15 games that were given around 10 seconds each. Terrible format, hope they never do this again

That's the install base now, not when MH3 or 4 or the other variations came out. And nobody even mentioned MHW before the troll brought it up, how is this relevant to this week's charts?

@SmaggTheSmug minus the fact that some of these have never been on PC, consoles are by default closed ecosystems and obviously PC will always be better for performance. However, many of us don't play on PC and this is not about PC Vs console anyway so I don't see the relevance of your point.

@WiltonRoots no frostbite no buy Nintendo, get your stuff together. I enjoyed the 3DS Mario Tennis quite a bit, but Ultra Smash was trash. Thankfully this one seems like there's been actual effort behind it
