@Kienda depends on what kind of third party support you're talking about. This is the biggest game in the world right now and it's console exclusive on the Switch. Many Japanese games are PS4 and Switch only. The treatment of third party developers towards Nintendo is a shameful one, even when they've been the market leader by a large margin. I'd recommend reading a web article called 'Third party wall of shame' on a site called Pietriots
@StuTwo pretty obvious what the case is with good ol' Menchi and a few others here @WiltonRoots HAHAHA. But seriously, my console is so much better than yours and if you don't like it talk to the hand.
Highest grossing game in the world right now and yet it receives hardly any attention while articles about game X or Y not coming to the Switch will get hundreds of comments. Completely unsurprising too, you won't see an article saying "Arena of Valor not coming to PS4" over on Push Square and for a good reason
@Menchi187 One thing I've noticed is that trolls come out of the woodwork only when there are "negative" news articles on the website, particularly when it comes to sales. Congratulations to GOW for selling a bit less than Tomodachi Life and to MHW for selling a bit less than Mario 64 DS. Pretty sure companies care about money more than anything but "muh trolling is third rate and I've come to the point where I moan about the sales of one week in Japan"
@Devlind sure, no doubt. But in the meantime it made more than 1.5 billion dollars in revenue and enabled the Pokémon company to post record profits since it came out
@PlywoodStick no worries I've exchanged views with some of the users before and I personally didn't feel as if we were arguing, just seeing it from a different perspective. Good thing is that even the people exasperating about it did not troll but have genuine concerns, which I hope will be alleviated when we receive further information. Apologies if I appeared overly aggressive
@PlywoodStick you correctly assumed that these were some of the posts I was responding to, alongside many others who were talking about a game made for casuals and other related condescending remarks. My response did explicitly not tag anyone who expressed such views because I didn't want to personalize it. However, I find this knee jerk reaction based on a 3 minute trailer of which half was CGI to be completely unhelpful to any discussion. We haven't seen proper gameplay or read any previews yet so like I said I am reserving judgement until then. You can think that I was attacking people. The way I see it the only thing I was attacking was this kind of reaction nothing else
@PlywoodStick you're kind of late to the party and probably didn't follow the discussion we had where people talked about where they were coming from. I also clearly explained what I meant by entitlement but I guess people don't read much on the internet these days. Do take a look at the articles with the original announcements to see what I was referring to, context is king.
@thesilverbrick I also thought of something else, if you don't count Pokken (which kinda counts but it's only got what, 20 Pokemon and was mainly a Bandai Namco game), this is the first opportunity for Game Freak to develop a proper HD Pokemon game and use this as an opportunity to get feedback for the 2019 title (not necessarily gameplay feedback but other stuff like graphics, models, etc). That's another win I think.
@Devlind it's not the different opinion that I call entitlement, it's the mentality that thinks "game x doesn't look like it was made with my preferences in mind therefore it's gonna suck/whoever will be enjoying it is a simpleton who can't hold a candle to us hardcore gamers."
@thesilverbrick I'm not denying that and obviously there would inevitably be an 8th generation sooner or later. Maybe this will suck, maybe not. All we have is a trailer, half of which was a CGI Pikachu running around so I'm reserving judgement about the actual game until I see proper footage and/or media previews. Who knows,it might be deeper than you think
@thesilverbrick my wife has followed the series and bought every Pokémon game since Red and Blue (both versions in most cases too) and she's beyond excited for this. The damage control was exactly because they knew some people would moan (because they refuse to even understand how successful Pokémon Go has been) so they preemptively reminded people that there's another game coming next year. This is not a spin-off, it's created by Game Freak and uses the moniker of Poke Monsters in Japan (where spinoffs are called Pokémon).
Really not looking forward to all the smug comments saying that this doesn't interest them due to being made with the "filthy casuals" in mind and informing us of their decision to skip it in favour of the "core" one in 2019. It's gotten old already and reeks of entitlement
@YummyHappyPills yeah I don't think we can possibly know when it was approved. I'm just gonna wait one more week and find out, but I'd bet serious money that it's coming. If the Vita got 4 FIFA games I'm sure the Switch will get more than the one, especially now that Nintendo lets EA play ball with FUT
@Mr_Pepperami they already announced Madden 19 (out August 10) and there's no reason they wouldn't announce a Switch version so I'm guessing it might be something like the Sims 4
@Mr_Pepperami the biggest indication that this is going to happen is the World Cup update. None of the last-gen versions got it and I think FIFA 18 will be the last one to be cross-gen
@YummyHappyPills The Vita got 4 FIFA's in a row. I'm sure the Switch will get more than 1, especially since it sold more than the Vita during its first three months (jk, but not really).
@X-blades not that it takes away much from your point but the Wii U lists on that website are way out of date. I think that by the end of its life it had a bit more than 150 retail games, which the Switch should exceed soon anyway
@Kimyonaakuma oh God I hope not @PanurgeJr where's he now? @WiltonRoots it's just sad that they're not even trying to be creative with the bait. At least back in the day we had the occasional creative troll, now it's just second rate stuff
@kobashi100 and everyone else, don't feed @Menchi187! It's a desperate troll trying to replace another user who has thankfully left us but so far has failed. If you keep feeding it though it might grow and come back to bite us
@kobashi100 I don't know if you read the news but PES got the licence for the entire Scottish premier league alongside 8 others:https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-05-23-pes-2019-has-nine-officially-licensed-leagues-including-the-scottish-top-flight Unless they're holding back some big surprise for E3, this doesn't bode well for any of the big ones
@kobashi100 ah got you. Yeah I used to do that in the good old PS2 games, creating teams from scratch and editing everything for whole weeks during the summer.
@Equinox Agreed, always prefered PES myself, even from the days it was called ISS.
@kobashi100 On playstation (and PC I assume) you can just import mod files that include real team names replacing all the fake ones (especially the Premier League) plus a lot of other leagues with real names and everything-including the Bundesliga. You can't do that on XBOX and I think it would be very difficult on the Switch as well.
@Agramonte yeah and if you remember Ubisoft was one of the few third parties that got not one but two (!) bundles in the horrible Wii U era, one with Zombi U (that's the one I have) and another with Just Dance 2014. The only other third parties that had their games officially bundled with the console were WB with Lego City Undercover (which was exclusive at the time), Activision with Skylanders (Trap Team and Swap Force), and Capcom with MH3 Ultimate.
@kobashi100 I really don't understand Konami though. They put out 3 (!) PES games on the 3DS with its s...y nub before they called it a day and I assume they wanted a slice of the FIFA sales which actually put out two more games after Konami stopped. Now that we finally have a handheld with proper sticks and all the necessary buttons and FIFA is making bank they don't even bother.
@Equinox the perfect opportunity would have been now, since they finally ditched last gen versions as well. Although the loss of the CL and EL licences doesn't fill me with confidence about the future of PES, I'd give my money to EA instead since they are at least bothered-for now
@gatorboi352 I don't find that weird, it's an established series and if they're making a 3rd game it means they must have sold enough before to justify it so some people will get it day 1, as it happens with every game. What's so weird about that? Go to any other site and half the comments about new game announcements are "day 1" and "preordered already".
@electrolite77 Oh trust me I know, he's a lite version of the sligeach, lessened only by the fact that he doesn't comment as often as he did. Get the bingo cards ready, E3 is upon us!
@bimmy-lee haha since you're American I would call you bro and do all the other things you mentioned! In my college days in the US I would have mooned at people in the car as well but alas, these days are gone.
@jimi bigger as in terms of percentage sales, not sizes. Every single publisher is reporting that almost half their sales are digital these days. It's your choice to buy physical and mine to buy both, if you don't like digital games don't buy them. I'll let you in on a secret too: the reason Bayo 1 came out was because it didn't exist on a Nintendo console before and surprise surprise, it had a digital version too! Thanks for the new Nintendo meme though, we'll make sure to include it to our E3 bingo cards
@jimi mate it's 2018. I understand you're fond of physical games (just to address one of your arguments) but digital games have been a thing for a decade now and they're only getting bigger, so the fact that bayonetta 1 is a digital code doesn't mean anything just because it isn't on a cartridge. Also, just repeating that it's 80 dollars for cardboard shows that your other points are not even worthy a response. there's software in there and even if you don't like it people worked to make it and people enjoy playing it. Is that whole "old Nintendo" a new meme? I can't tell what's real and what isn't here anymore
@Menchi187 you have no idea what you're talking about. There's a ton of games on these systems with game breaking bugs that wouldn't allow you to even complete them without the myriad patches.
@Menchi187 yeah just like 99% of PS4 and XBONE games where the disc is just a licence to install the game on the HDD and you need the patches to play properly. Thanks for enlightening us though

@WiltonRoots but can you write 94 WPM?

@StuTwo the problem is there is no analysis at all, just a weekly upload of the sales figures and that's it. Same with the UK charts
Re: The Mega Man Legacy Collections On Switch Debut At Number Nine In Japan
@Menchi187 I ain't mad "bro", just stating facts. I ain't the one who goes and writes essays on a sales article either

@Hughesy there's literally nothing in these statements to indicate that this will be the case. Maybe wait for the official reveal first?
Re: EA Says Fifa 19 On Switch Will Build Upon Its Custom Engine To Improve Graphics
@Orpheus79V exactly, we got FIFA 13 and then 14 and 15 came out on the Wii (!!) but not the Wii U! Oh, and the 3DS as well, lest we forget

Re: Guide: Pokémon Let's Go - Everything We Know About Let's Go Pikachu! And Let's Go Eevee! On Nintendo Switch
@BulkSlash it does count, Game Freak never developed any of the spin-offs and it says it's based on the classic series right in the beginning of the website: https://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-video-games/pokemon-lets-go-pikachu-and-pokemon-lets-go-eevee/
But some folks know better than the Pokemon Company so here we are
