Re: Review: Yoshi Touch & Go (Wii U eShop / DS)

@Dave you've missed an important point about the game: the gameplay is dynamic! The better you play the more challenging the game becomes.

Try it by playing and not collecting any coins in the initial falling from the sky section - play badly. Then try again and play well, looping enemies and collecting coins. The difference is obvious - Yoshi even changes colour! Enemy layout is different and number of eggs you can carry also changes. The are at least 10 different Yoshi colours and related difficulty/enemy layouts.

I'm not sure how you missed this, but you seem to have if you're talking about lack of variety.

Please let us know your thoughts after trying this out.

Is this an April Fool review score?

I played a dozen or so levels of the JP release and it's great. Understated, but polished with a perfected difficulty curve.

Looking forward to playing it to completion in English.

Re: Review: Kuru Kuru Kururin (Wii U eShop / Game Boy Advance)

Love this game. Bought it with a GBA in release day.

Years later I took the two GBA games on holiday one year to Corfu, just to give me something to do whilst sunbathing. Possibly one of the greatest gaming decisions I’ve ever made. I sat for a few hours every day on the beach for the whole week we were away and managed to 100% both games . Even so, completing all levels perfectly - without teasing damage - and breaking all records remains one of my greatest gaming achievements to date. Though I think I drew the line at the secret, super-difficult levels that were unlocked for doing so.

For me this is a 9/10 game.

The two sequels are 10/10 games, simply because they added the ability to also adjust the speed of rotation.

PS: I'm currently trying to 100% the GameCube game Kururin Squash! Using Nintendont in Wii mode on my Wii U.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Update & DLC Scheduled for 27th August

Seems like a great update! So happy they have been listening.

Remaining gripes for me:

  • no manual switch between cameras or players in MKTV replay mode
  • should be easier to play with friends than waiting for spaces in a room. ie. start room with friends and then wait for random people to fill it
  • an option to say you are happy to wait to join a friend ASAP, rather than it just saying "you are unable to join" and you have to keep trying manually when you think their race has finished
  • no way to see which time trials you have beaten without going into each one
  • no expert ghosts

game/rebalancing:

  • address item distribution
  • remove fire hopping
  • allow jump/tricks whilst drifting (this was in MKWii)
  • green shells should make more noise
  • limited character/vehicle combos compared to MK7 (hopefully the Mercedes cars are not just reskins of existing cars)

@TheRealThanos @MeddlingIdiot @SKTTR around this time last year I played Excite Truck from start to finish (including Diamond Cup) in a weekend. Much easier than my first time, I suspect due to being far more familiar with the wiimote.

Would love a Wii U version.

Excite Bots was good, but a bit too crazy for me. I also love Mario Kart Wii.
