To mark 10 years in the business, Hertfordshire-based game publisher Rising Star Games is celebrating with events and announcements every month until the end of 2014. On 11th September, “the home of Japanese games,” is holding a sale on the 3DS for select titles, and on this rare occasion Europe appears to be getting the sweeter deal – there are a few titles that should appeal to gamers in North America, too.

Virtues last reward and beyblade are the same price in pounds but there is a 2,50 difference in Euros. Also for anyone on the fence Virtues last reward is great game. Not buying is great gaming sin.
Wha...? Why is there fewer titles for America? And why are the games available in America suck? I get that we got better prices but this is a terrible deal for us...... Why is all this unfortunate crap on Nintendo consoles happening in the Americas as of late? I'm getting sick of it.
@ColdingLight I'm assuming Rising Star don't publish as many games in the US?
Like for BIT.TRIP SAGA Aksys Games published that in the US.
@Jazzer94 You'd assume wrong. Every single one of those games are in the Americas. 'Sigh' There's no excuse for this.
@ColdingLight Actually, he is completely right. Those games may be available in the US, but they are not published by rising star games there.
@ColdingLight Realised I was wrong forgot Aksys Games was the american distributor for Rising Star Games (so they decide most likely) oh well it was cheaper to begin with so nothing lost nothing gained situation though it is a shame that the four best games aren't on sale in the US.
When it comes to eShop and VC, Europe wins almost every round. Capcom does a better job at supporting the American eShop than Nintendo of America.
Feels like Europe has been getting the better deals a lot lately. Still want a Smash Bros related sale, still hoping for the Legend of Zelda sale.
@CaviarMeths Just wondering how you came to that conclusion? Only lately we've been having good sales but actually getting new content not so great I mean we're still waiting for Shovel Knight.
@CaviarMeths your probably right , but it's likely due to the need for more promotion in Europe. In America Nintendo products sell better so they have to 'do more' to get numbers in Europe. Also I wonder if the whole club Nintendo rewards effect this? If NOA have sacrificed margin for loyalty bonuses so they don't have as much room for discounts?
@Jazzer94 Shovel Knight is self-published, so I can't speak to it, but NoA has been awful at publishing lately.
@CaviarMeths All regions make blunders though NOE are just as guilty of that take Chibi-Robo! Photo Finder comes out half a year later in the EU and cost substantially more.
Too bad !!!! I've just bought Hometown Story full price a few days ago !!!!!
Virtue’s Last Reward is highly recommended.
damn that NA list is a bunch of crap. if we got the same titles discounted as EU did i would have bought a few for sure.
@ColdingLight - Why is it you complain every time Europe gets one little better deal and pretend they always have it better?
Maybe just be happy that the prices in NA are lower to begin with and that the discounts are larger?
The Cradle of Rome 3d hard copy has a fault with it, and it is almost impossible to get past level 60.
I would find out if this has been fixed before downloading it.
Virtue’s Last Reward is tempting. I am still on the fence if I should get the vita version or 3ds version. While taking notes is better on the 3ds the save data glitch is what worrying me about that version.
@Geonjaha Because in recent years they've been getting better deals that never reach us. When it should be equal to remind us how hard it used to have been getting everyone the sane great deal. Now it just seems the tides have turned. Why can't we have both?
@SilentHunter382 The glitch only occurs in two rooms to my knowledge. If you know it exists I can't see how you would run into it.
Seriously if you own a 3ds Virtues Last Reward is an ESSENTIAL purchase. It is easily one of my top three franchises in all of videogames.
Lame......
Why dont they make some fricking wiiu games please
@ShanaUnite I would love to buy it but it's not on sale here. Can't find it in the stores anymore either. Bring the sale over here and it's as good as bought.
@ColdingLight Because they didn't publish those titles in America, so yes, that's a good excuse

@Jazzer94 No, you were right. Aksys only distributed games that Rising Star published in Europe originally. However, Rising Star also brought Japanese and American games to Europe as the publisher when the original publisher wouldn't. For example, Aksys published (not just distributed) the Bit Trip SAGA game, but Rising Star published it in Europe. Therefore Rising Star discounted the European version only.
@CaviarMeths You're right.
@CaviarMeths From what I noticed, prices are already lower in the Americas than they are in Europe. Europeans' eShop seems pointless since the physical copies are usually cheaper anyway. So how exactly is NoA a worse publisher than Europe?
@SilentHunter382
The Vita version is also on sale and is a little bit cheaper.
@mookysam Thanks for telling me this. I might go with the vita version as I have the funds for it on my PSN wallet and not on my 3ds.
Surprised that the complete version is the same price as the normal one.
.....ohohoh Europe. There are multiple games I'd get from the Europe list, sadly none from America....But that's ok because I have too many games to play anyways
Ooooh.
Nothing for me, but I'll have to start recommending Virtue's Last Reward to everyone I know who hasn't played it yet, seems like a pretty good time to pick it up.
It's a hard game to recommend because I feel obliged to add "but make sure you play 999 first" which probably puts people off a bit because it's not so easy to track down here.
It's a shame they no longer list their DS games on their site. Pang DS would make a great eShop game.
Played 999 to 100% (a.k.a. getting all the endings) and I can safely say that that game was brilliant from the least. Awesome story elements and rumours that fit right into the story, adding a great deal of freshness and diversity to it. Loved every bit, so it's easy to recommend getting Virtue's Last Reward, and for that price it's even better.
And hey guys, c'mon, I know that it's difficult to track a copy there in the States and Europe but seriously, I found some here, in Brazil, that only imports from the US, for what would be about $50. So, I bet that if you look hard enough you could find one.
@ColdingLight Because there are fewer games released in Europe on the 3DS overall and they are more expensive than in the Americas?
