Re: Review: Bugsnax - A Charming Idea That Struggles In Execution

ferryb001

I just played the beginning and the controls are just standard first person? Does the reviewer not like first person games in general? So far the game looks beautiful, I understand there was a day one patch so that might be why the review was different from my experience. I understand it’s not on par with ps5, but I’m incredibly enthusiastic so far. Performance is better than a lot of switch titles.

I hope it’s not that the later levels suddenly have a huge drop in quality. Also with the 3hrs added play time In the dlc that makes 9hrs for 19€… I beat Zelda links awakening in 10-12hrs for 50€

Re: Bluetooth Audio Volume Gets A Welcome Boost In Switch System Update 14.0.0

ferryb001

@Vyacheslav333 i really don’t notice lag, we might be talking milliseconds but certainly nothing more than 1/3 second for me (probably way less even) also I don’t have special high quality Bluetooth headphones or anything, just AirPods 3. So do you have a lot of interference where you are? Edit: also, do you have your switch nearby? I had noticed lag when my switch is at distance, but I only use headphones when on the train in handheld tbh. Maybe you have issues because of Bluetooth controllers?

Re: This Unofficial Zelda PC Port Is About '90% Complete', Say Devs

ferryb001

@nessisonett only if they re drew all art, 3d assets in their own signature style recomposed the music with their own arrangements etc. The images don’t look promising in that regard. Actually they say they don’t use any assets… which is a bit weird… did they actually redraw all pixel art pixel by pixel? Because then it’s still copying…

Re: Digital Foundry Continues GTA Trilogy Analysis, Sets Switch As 'Bottom Tier' Version

ferryb001

honestly I enjoyed playing through 3, almost finished it on switch.

I understood vice city and San Andreas play better on switch. I'm starting to get the feeling that crapping on the trilogy is an easy click for most YouTubers... The glitches are everywhere, but it gave me memories from weird and funny glitches on PS2. The performance is terrible, but that's true on all versions sadly, so the switch is between 20-30fps and xx and ps5 are between 25-60... Not unexpected. I do hope they find a solution for the fps dips.

Re: Modders Have Already "Fixed" Some Rain Issues In The Grand Theft Auto Trilogy

ferryb001

I’ve been playing GTA 3 and while it does have some low fps situations, I am really enjoying it so far. I haven’t encountered any of the rain glitches after 5+Hrs of gameplay, it doesn’t get as dense as in videos I’ve seen and I haven’t noticed the awful looking Z depth errors. I do hope for those affected that the patch will launch sooner rather than later, I hope it also manages to improve on the fps dips

Re: Yes, The Nintendo 64 Controller For Switch Has Rumble

ferryb001

@sketchturner I think the 20€ NSO price increase is reasonable, it also lets you play the AC DLC. And finally EU seems to get a more fair pricing as well (EU’s 46$ Next to USA’s 50$) compared to previously direct $>€ ratios.

I preordered my N64 gamepad, can’t wait!

Re: Talking Point: What's That One Switch Game You Can't Bring Yourself To Delete?

ferryb001

I have two 400gb micro as cards and I’m waiting for the 1tb to dive under 100€ I keep my games downloaded so they’re always ready to go whenever I really want to play something

I have over 170+ games and I love hopping between them (switching ). I swap SD cards every few months, but I wouldn’t swap an sd card to play a specific game. If I had physical games I would be stuck with just the one 😅

Re: Talking Point: Do You Want To See More Apple Arcade Games On Switch?

ferryb001

Everyone should understand these aren’t just mobile games, a lot of them are designed for desktop/laptop or appletv+controller and are not suited for mobile at all… I used to play shantae and the seven deadly sirens with my switch pro controller through my mac… ended up buying it on switch as well because it’s great!
Also games like mini motorways are amazing and I can’t wait for it to release on switch… I just don’t want to pay over 10-15€ for it

Re: It Seems Game Builder Garage Will Only Be Available On The eShop In Europe

ferryb001

Europe has pretty stable internet without data cap, I have two 400gb micro sd cards which are full. I hate it when I have to swap between both for a certain game... Can't imagine the struggle having to deal with more than three physical cartridges, do people actually take all their cartridges with them with the risk of losing them on a bus?... currently ring fit is the only physical for me

Re: Nintendo Realises It Needs A 'How To Create A Mii' Video For Switch

ferryb001

I loved picking up all the miis at the Nintendo zone relay points at the railway stations. I could get about 20 miis a day and also noticed I encountered a lot of regulars . It was fun to actually meet these people in super Mario 3d land, animal crossing etc… now having to create all these soulless miis myself feels empty. They’re not the respected miis created by other gamers

Re: Nintendo eShop Growth Continues With Massive Increase To Digital Sales

ferryb001

@Slowdive you can however transfer the data to a external device through a third medium, this also opens the potential for preservation through emulation when all the other options are gone. And don’t forget when Nintendo inevitably releases a new system that doesn’t support switch cartridges but does allow to redownload certain games through the new eshop or take them directly to another system through the micro sd. I see the addition (micro) sd on wii systems amd further on as an amazing feature that should not be overlooked.

Edit: I mean, the switches architecture allows for upgrades quite easily, almost like a smartphone. But at some point the switch cartridges might reach the end of their potential. Digital makes the switch to a system that drops back compat for the cartridges a lot less painful for gamers. Those who bought the physical can then still play those games the way they were intended on switch. the digital plebs like me can play them on the newer hardware

Re: Railway Empire Is Expanding With New Japan DLC

ferryb001

I really like the game, but the graphics on switch kind of put me of. I would have loved to have this one on the go, now I just hope for that switch pro to come along and this game to have been programmed to intelligently to scale to the specs of the system.

Re: Epic Secures $1 Billion In Funding, With Sony Investing Another $200 Million

ferryb001

So are they basically afraid of Epic? I imagine Epic having almost a monopoly on gaming engines for third party software. If Epic doesn't like you, they might just stop supporting your platform which could have awful consequenses... especially for gaming platforms who are becoming more and more dependent of Epic. In the long run Sony/Nintendo etc might fear that Epic wants to put their gamestore on their systems as well. Maybe I'm overthinking but Epic is doing a great job cementing its future

Re: Qualcomm Is Reportedly Working On A "Knockoff" Switch, Powered By Android

ferryb001

I have an Apple TV which has access to great games, most of them were included for free with Arcade. They also work on my phone and iPad. Yet I still end up buying those same games for switch because I just don't enjoy them on these platforms... I stopped my subscription of Arcade last month and I don't miss it at all. Android obviously gets the same (or maybe even more) console game releases as iOS. but still it doesn't give the platform that game feeling
