I just played the beginning and the controls are just standard first person? Does the reviewer not like first person games in general? So far the game looks beautiful, I understand there was a day one patch so that might be why the review was different from my experience. I understand it’s not on par with ps5, but I’m incredibly enthusiastic so far. Performance is better than a lot of switch titles.
I hope it’s not that the later levels suddenly have a huge drop in quality. Also with the 3hrs added play time In the dlc that makes 9hrs for 19€… I beat Zelda links awakening in 10-12hrs for 50€
I still think people calling .exe and .apk apps are a bit crazy, the mac ecosystems call software “applications” and thus uses .app so apps make sense, just as that windows calls it programs which makes no sense at all for their . “executables” 😅
Its always so annoying when they release a newer version and stop supporting the original, it usually means the next iOS update you’d have to purchase the newer version…
@Vyacheslav333 i really don’t notice lag, we might be talking milliseconds but certainly nothing more than 1/3 second for me (probably way less even) also I don’t have special high quality Bluetooth headphones or anything, just AirPods 3. So do you have a lot of interference where you are? Edit: also, do you have your switch nearby? I had noticed lag when my switch is at distance, but I only use headphones when on the train in handheld tbh. Maybe you have issues because of Bluetooth controllers?
I'm interested. Even if it runs poorly I would like to see how it runs on switch and what tricks they used to get it running. Also The Witcher was great to play on my 40 minute train rides to work, I can see this one taking its place
@nessisonett only if they re drew all art, 3d assets in their own signature style recomposed the music with their own arrangements etc. The images don’t look promising in that regard. Actually they say they don’t use any assets… which is a bit weird… did they actually redraw all pixel art pixel by pixel? Because then it’s still copying…
Besides the bigger screen I think the trailer might cause epilepsy! what a shocking trailer
Edit: the video on their indigogo is way more pleasant; odd that it seems to require an external power source... Why not just include a (replaceable) battery... These wires make the device look like the "portable" gamecubes/playstation x's from the old times
@Ponyo404 have you bought the game? IMO it doesn’t look that bad in handheld at all. The underlying games are also still great. The FPS is the main issue here. I’m not defending my purchase, I bought 6 other games this week and I’m still playing gta because I’m having a great time.
honestly I enjoyed playing through 3, almost finished it on switch.
I understood vice city and San Andreas play better on switch. I'm starting to get the feeling that crapping on the trilogy is an easy click for most YouTubers... The glitches are everywhere, but it gave me memories from weird and funny glitches on PS2. The performance is terrible, but that's true on all versions sadly, so the switch is between 20-30fps and xx and ps5 are between 25-60... Not unexpected. I do hope they find a solution for the fps dips.
Its weird I have a screencapture of the version numbers of the trilogy games at launch. Initially 3 launched already on 1.02 and it has no updates or anything currently… vice city launched at 1.03 and San andreas at 1.02. So was this patch already available at launch for switch users?
I’ve been playing GTA 3 and while it does have some low fps situations, I am really enjoying it so far. I haven’t encountered any of the rain glitches after 5+Hrs of gameplay, it doesn’t get as dense as in videos I’ve seen and I haven’t noticed the awful looking Z depth errors. I do hope for those affected that the patch will launch sooner rather than later, I hope it also manages to improve on the fps dips
@Blooper987 sorry I didn't know, I thought the character looked like a guy imo. I did not mean to misgender or anything to do harm.
@Sparkwave Well she could've used a camera to actually show the funny stuff going on in stead of only suggesting it by using a gif which doesn't seem to follow her actual motion...
@sketchturner I think the 20€ NSO price increase is reasonable, it also lets you play the AC DLC. And finally EU seems to get a more fair pricing as well (EU’s 46$ Next to USA’s 50$) compared to previously direct $>€ ratios.
@nukatha the mobile versions were the only remasters with upgraded shaders, reflective glass/cars and textures. Also they supported the HD screens. What more would you like of the switch versions? I’m just hoping it will be priced lower 9x3=27, about 20 would be a fair pricepoint
Its nice how the split pad pro still fits the oled switch, it doesn’t feature rumble but it’s fit seems better than any grip out there. I’d like to have a flip grip at some point as well… maybe wait for the next gen switch to be sure
I thought this game didn’t run too well on Apple Arcade… so I’m not too confident about a switch version, but who knows. I’ll wait for the videos to decide
I’d love a rerelease of 1-3 or something! Loved the original games… maybe the rights of those games are in a weird situation… they’re not rereleased anywhere
I really want this game, but the mediapartner of the dev on Reddit wrote that what they said before the ubi forward presentation was not set in stone yet. @Thomas Whitehead Have you confirmed this with the devs? That would be amazing
With all railway stations in the Netherlands functioning as Nintendo zone access points with the street pass relay function enabled, I used to be able to get two full loads of streetpass on the way to work and two in the way back. Those were the days… loved racing the ghosts in Mario kart
I have two 400gb micro as cards and I’m waiting for the 1tb to dive under 100€ I keep my games downloaded so they’re always ready to go whenever I really want to play something
I have over 170+ games and I love hopping between them (switching ). I swap SD cards every few months, but I wouldn’t swap an sd card to play a specific game. If I had physical games I would be stuck with just the one 😅
I never thought sonic was hard… maybe the first game but those after are easier. Especially the 3D games are playing themselves as others already said…
Everyone should understand these aren’t just mobile games, a lot of them are designed for desktop/laptop or appletv+controller and are not suited for mobile at all… I used to play shantae and the seven deadly sirens with my switch pro controller through my mac… ended up buying it on switch as well because it’s great!
Also games like mini motorways are amazing and I can’t wait for it to release on switch… I just don’t want to pay over 10-15€ for it
Europe has pretty stable internet without data cap, I have two 400gb micro sd cards which are full. I hate it when I have to swap between both for a certain game... Can't imagine the struggle having to deal with more than three physical cartridges, do people actually take all their cartridges with them with the risk of losing them on a bus?... currently ring fit is the only physical for me
I loved picking up all the miis at the Nintendo zone relay points at the railway stations. I could get about 20 miis a day and also noticed I encountered a lot of regulars . It was fun to actually meet these people in super Mario 3d land, animal crossing etc… now having to create all these soulless miis myself feels empty. They’re not the respected miis created by other gamers
@Slowdive you can however transfer the data to a external device through a third medium, this also opens the potential for preservation through emulation when all the other options are gone. And don’t forget when Nintendo inevitably releases a new system that doesn’t support switch cartridges but does allow to redownload certain games through the new eshop or take them directly to another system through the micro sd. I see the addition (micro) sd on wii systems amd further on as an amazing feature that should not be overlooked.
Edit: I mean, the switches architecture allows for upgrades quite easily, almost like a smartphone. But at some point the switch cartridges might reach the end of their potential. Digital makes the switch to a system that drops back compat for the cartridges a lot less painful for gamers. Those who bought the physical can then still play those games the way they were intended on switch. the digital plebs like me can play them on the newer hardware
also for preservation digital is a huge benefit, its much easier to preserve data from an sd card instead of only having proprietary hardware. Nintendo always has been amazing with supporting SD instead of specific nintendo cards (looking at you Sony)
I really like the game, but the graphics on switch kind of put me of. I would have loved to have this one on the go, now I just hope for that switch pro to come along and this game to have been programmed to intelligently to scale to the specs of the system.
So are they basically afraid of Epic? I imagine Epic having almost a monopoly on gaming engines for third party software. If Epic doesn't like you, they might just stop supporting your platform which could have awful consequenses... especially for gaming platforms who are becoming more and more dependent of Epic. In the long run Sony/Nintendo etc might fear that Epic wants to put their gamestore on their systems as well. Maybe I'm overthinking but Epic is doing a great job cementing its future
I have an Apple TV which has access to great games, most of them were included for free with Arcade. They also work on my phone and iPad. Yet I still end up buying those same games for switch because I just don't enjoy them on these platforms... I stopped my subscription of Arcade last month and I don't miss it at all. Android obviously gets the same (or maybe even more) console game releases as iOS. but still it doesn't give the platform that game feeling
My subscription expires September so I will buy the year extension now. The main discount is the 100€ 2 game vouchers obviously, that covers the 20€ cost
