Nintendo of Europe has announced that its My Nintendo brand is teaming up with LEGO VIP to offer fans new ways of exploring the growing world of Super Mario-themed LEGO.
For anyone not in the know, LEGO VIP is a free loyalty programme that offers up rewards when you shop directly from LEGO's website or stores. Once you're signed up, you can start to build points that can net you exclusive rewards and coupon codes – in plenty of ways, it's very similar to Nintendo's very own My Nintendo Rewards program.
To celebrate the partnership, Nintendo's giving away a LEGO Mario keychain on its My Nintendo website; you'll need to hand over 400 of your Platinum Points to claim one, and then simply pay shipping (those in the UK can add it to an order from the My Nintendo Store to combine shipping with other goods). Here are the links you need:
If you also use LEGO VIP, you can spend points there to receive a matching LEGO Luigi keychain and digital wallpaper.
Other My Nintendo rewards currently up for grabs are LEGO VIP points and a selection of LEGO Mario wallpapers. Again, here are the links you need:
Finally, if you're interested, you can also opt to spend your Platinum Points entering a prize draw to win a set of special gold-coloured LEGO Mario and Luigi keychains, the Adventures with Mario Starter Course, the Adventures with Luigi Starter Course, and Bowser’s Airship Expansion Set. That's not a bad prize at all!

I got both. These are neat little collectables that won't take up much space.
Neat, free Lego points! I can actually use those. Good luck to anyone who enters the contest, that airship looks stellar.
I own the airship and Lego Luigi and it is stellar!
nintendo always with the crazy shipping prices, this should be at max 2€ shipping...
@SwitchplayerJohn your kids must love it!
@ItsjustAnotherGamer Where did you see that? The Luigi one won’t even show up on the LEGO website for me. I was starting to wonder if it’s only available if you get the Mario one first?
@Markiemania95
I couldn't find it either, but then I saw a Twitter picture that showed the Luigi keychain beside the 200 My Nintendo Platinum Points reward and realized it must be sold out.
Woah, I redeemed my Lego points for some Xbox game pass when they were expiring. Does this mean I could redeem Nintendo points for Lego points and then redeem them for Xbox game pass?!
Game Pass on Switch confirmed 😂
Will these be collectable one day I wonder? I have over 800 platinum points, but I'm not sure if I should use HALF of my points on this though. Any thoughts?
I picked up my new car yesterday and this is a neat way to update my keyring.
❗I've had quite a few Platinum🥈Points for a few years so last year and this, I've spent them on stuff I don't really want but might as well considering they expire.
Oh and I did get this.
Well, I managed to get the My Nintendo one, but the Lego site... Jesus, does it suck balls apparently. The rewards refuse to load, but EVENTUALLY they did and I got a code for Luigi. Yes, a code. Apparently, you have to BUY something from the lego store, and you can use that code to add Luigi to the order for free. FUN.
I picked up the Mario one and will be saving points for Metroid Dread stuff when/if they come out.
Lego VIP points are a lot more useful to me than Nintendo points. The VIP program gives you early access to new sets, can be used to save money on purchases and frequently gives you extra bonus sets with qualifying purchases. It's a complete win/win scenario if you're into Lego at all. Unlike Nintendo's program, which usually gives you, like, wallpaper for your computer.

Hey, I got nintendo points expiring this month, so I’ll take it lol.
I was looking at Lego the other day while buying some gifts for my cousin's children, and I have to say, we're lucky.
We're lucky that video games haven't gone up in price the way Lego have. I can't believe just how massively expensive Lego is now. I'm shocked it has remained successful at the prices they sell at.
Kits that would have been 40-50 USD back in the 90s and 2000s are now nearly double that range. And there are kits well in excess of that as well. The whole range of toys seems nearly double the price it was 20 years ago. Maybe not quite double, I concede I could be misremembering, but I would remember spending that kind of money on them - as I often got gift cards for Christmas/Birthday so I could choose the sets I like.
If video games had increased like Lego have, then we're probably be spending 80-120 dollars per game right now.
Yeah...still not paying shipping for "a reward". Not much of a reward if you're still technically buying it with shipping.
i am new to Lego VIP and it seems that i need to buy anything so that i can find Luigi Keychain in their rewards program so is it back in stock or still out of stock because i don't want to buy just anything from their shop and it would be in vain in the end that i am only doing it to get the keychain ? thanks
@SwitchplayerJohn bijove. allright. but i drop the wizard. im not into magic.
I was all on board until I realized it's almost 3 inches tall and 2 inches wide. That's a big key chain!
