Re: Nintendo Download: 11th March (Europe)

ferryb001

Really angry about the 60$ price of crash in Europe especially in relation to the 39$ price in the US... I did buy it because I have a week off the coming week... sadly I’m at the point in life where time is more valuable than money because the pricing is awful

Re: Epic Games Buys Mediatonic, The Studio Behind Fall Guys

ferryb001

@Paddle1 epic has enough money to have their own payment methods so they wanted to avoid the AppStore. Apple wants a level playing field, forcing everyone to sell through the same route. Though that does lead to a lot of profit for Apple as well it also brought equality in the app/game dev market so that smaller developers actually make a shot at selling their games with the AppStore serving kind of as their publisher. Epic actually pretended to stand up for the smaller developers, with the goal to make the money from smaller devs themselves (making it a percent cheaper for the smaller devs, yay)

Its a messy fight which either way will end up not changing anything for us/smaller devs. Just for epic. Also epic might have less strict rules for their apps, potentially opening possibilities for apps to appear with harmful code or Unstable performance, something Apple has been guarding tightly since the AppStore launched

So why does everything take so long to load in this version of minecraft, I always need to turn on airplane mode to get into a world and I cannot see half my packs when in airplane mode... 4j’s minecraft however works so quickly, I don’t understand what they messed up with this game

Re: RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition Might Be Coming To Nintendo Switch

ferryb001

Making Swimming pools zoos and Rollercoasters 3 was amazing. 1 and 2 are currently mainly handled by Atari, which is the company that also gave us rollercoaster touch, for switch and other microtransaction ridden games. Frontier however is the awesome dev who still makes great tycoon games. I have 3 on iOS but it’s not the complete edition, I will probably double dip although I expect this one to be over the 9,99 App Store price.

Re: Guide: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For September And October 2020

ferryb001

@Cyberbotv2 to me (having big hands) they improve my enjoyment massively. They only work in portable mode and ergonomically really they do feel like a portable and split up version of the pro controller. The texture feels more plasticky but the good durable kind.

They don’t have batteries which makes your switch super light as well, which I didn’t expect to enjoy that much but I do! Also the turbo buttons are great for crafting in animal crossing and chatty villagers.

Downsides were: my Zr trigger used to make a squeeky noise, but since a few weeks it stopped doing that, so I guess problem solved.

Re: Feature: Keeping It Physical In A Digital Age

ferryb001

I’m kind of annoyed by the price bump physical games give to digital. Many games are expensive because the physical stores need to be satisfied... sonic forces goes for 40€ usually, I can only understand because that would be the physical price. I’d gladly pay for my games, but I really don’t care about physical stores.

Re: Nintendo President Apologises For Joy-Con Drift, Can't Comment Further Due To Ongoing Lawsuit

ferryb001

I just returned my pair of joycon right before the 2 year EU mark. I got them fixed originally during the 1 year manufacturers warranty but after getting them back they started drifting after a while again and I figured it to be too late. Then I remembered about the 2 year consumer warranty and was in luck (I had 7 days left xD) so I got the 80 euro refunded by the store

My old pro controllers stick also is messed up (doesn’t go up all the way anymore even after recalibration). But that one is about 3 years so I just bought a new one of the 80€ refund

Strangely my original (Launch unit) black left joycon drifts only very slightly but not anything nearly as bad as the one I bought later...

Edit:
Nintendo of Europe doesn’t offer the free out of warranty repairs the US has because we have consumer warranty, if you get any problem with them return them to the store, that way Nintendo also finds out this is a serious problem

Re: Colors Live's SonarPen Is Seriously Smart, Here's How It Uses Audio To Make Pressure-Sensitive Art

ferryb001

@DevlinMandrake well Wacom Cintiq is priced around 640€ and also requires a desktop attached to it. I’m trying to say that I also use to have cheaper Wacom tablets (without display) and generally only used them for a few months before deciding I wanted something of a higher quality and with less restrictions.

But hey, the pen being 36€ and including the software is a great deal, colors has always been amazing software and is probably fun for a bit to play around with . @westman98 You can try the sonarpen today as well if you like the tech: https://www.sonarpen.com/

Re: Colors Live's SonarPen Is Seriously Smart, Here's How It Uses Audio To Make Pressure-Sensitive Art

ferryb001

I Know it’s a lot more expensive, but if you’re really planning on digitally drawing I’d just skip these kind of investments and get an ipad, some are around 350, 300 when on sale even and the Apple Pencil is just great on them.

But if you have kids this might be fun... but repetitively stroking the screen probably requires the use of a screenprotector which is glass

Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 10.0.2 Is Now Live

ferryb001

I received my third controller yesterday, tried it with the new update, still drifting. Called Nintendo, they said they’re not aware of any issues. Receiving a 4th one today and I hope it doesn’t drift either... strangely my old pro controller has never drifted... this might be a bad batch of controllers because 3 bad ones in a row should be impossible

Recalibration did nothing also on the 10.2 update

Re: Japanese Charts: Nintendo Switch Sales Plummet As Shipments Get Put On Hold

@RileyR I was just pointing out that this person was turning a normal news story into a platform for false news, just shouting things like “a virus like the flu” might not be harmful to intelligent people like you and me. However sadly many people could start thinking this is a truth if they see it everywhere. False or unbacked information is one of the greatest dangers in this time, so please don’t be like China Or the US and just start repeating quotes without scientific backing like some of their puppet presidents do
