So it's really just a suped up, greatest hits game? I was hoping for new experiences and lunacy. I don't think I'm ready to pay full price for games that I've already enjoyed. Maybe if it ever gets a price drop.
I've owned over a dozen different versions of Tetris since it came out. While I enjoyed Puyo Puyo Tetris, the novelty wore off pretty quick for me. I'm glad that they are releasing a stand alone Puyo Puyo. Now let's have a pure Tetris game!
Where is Urban Champion? I realize that I am only one of the six people who love that game, but Nintendo has been keeping it available over the years. Ever since online gaming became a thing, I have been dreaming of a day that I could battle with the other five Urban Champions.
I had to order the special edition for my daughter. Her and her friends have been obsessed with this game for a long time now. It's going to be a Christmas present.
I fell so much in love with SF 1 & 2 that I just had to get a Saturn for the sole purpose of playing SF 3. I too would like to see a remake over a straight port. That actually might be easier than a port since emulation of Saturn games has been rather difficult. I like your idea of using the same script.
@Fandabidozi It is for me. I play a mean game of Tetris and it totally blows donkey balls to use the pro controller. The d-pad on it makes me drop pieces that I never intended to.
Being a lefty, it would drive me nuts if I had to use an analog stick to make precise movements with my right hand. That's why I hated when right analog sticks first started showing up. I also think that's why I can't shoot worth a damn when it comes to FPS's.
And another thing. I am really, really good at Tetris. I think being a lefty helps considerably.
I've been looking forward to this since it was first announced. I loved the first two and am willing to be that the third one will be just as enjoyable. I've begged the developers for an Amiibo. A Commander Video Amiibo would be so sweet!
Yeah, $15 sounds a bit steep for this game. This would be low on my list of games that are available for that much. Knock it down to $10, then maybe I'd consider it.
I've just made a little jail. They also like to stand in front of port-a-potties, so I'm currently crafting a few. I'm gonna have five of them, side-by-side. I'll post pics if I can get five animals waiting to take a leak. LOL
The PDP SNES Classic Deluxe Carrying Case looks cool, but there's a problem with it. In pictures of it, the controllers have the cords wrapped around the controller. That just seems so wrong to me. I did that as a kid with my NES controllers until I learned better. If that's what I'd have to do to store my controller in it, then I'll have to pass.
I always liked our US SNES more than the PAL one, but preferred the colorful buttons over our bland buttons. Luckily, my Ascii Pad (my favorite third party controller, ever), had the multi-colored buttons. I thought our carts looked better too.
We need a Commander Video amiibo! I encourage every to shoot them a message about it. I did earlier this year and got a positive response back. If more people express interest, maybe it will happen!
Discord, all the way. I got turned onto it by a group of users at gametz.com. We wanted to play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe together, it was decided to use Discord and it worked out quite well for us. The nice thing was that some people used their smart phones, while others used their computers. I was able to hook up the headset that I've used for my PS3 to my computer.
I enjoyed the demo of Puyo Puyo Tetris and have the physical copy preordered. Keep in mind that the physical run will be limited, plus it comes with sweet keychains.
I pre-ordered the physical copy, not only because I prefer that over the digital version, but I want that sweet Tetris keychain! As far as the price is concerned, I don't see $40 being that steep, especially when the original NES Tetris came out, it was around $50.
Being a fan of Picross ever since it was released on the GameBoy, I have to say that compared to all of the recent 3DS Picross games, the Zelda one is the worst. It just doesn't compare to the other ones. Having said that, it's a great entry level version and I'm glad to see that it's introducing people to the wonderful world of Picross.
I feel your pain. When I brought my Wii U home on launch day, I immediately went about transferring my Wii data over to it. After doing so, the system would crash when I played Wii games on the Wii U. I had to send it to Nintendo to be repaired and lost EVERYTHING. I'm talking about saves for Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, Super Mario Galaxy, and dozens of other files. I was sick about it for quite some time. I complained a few times to Nintendo over the phone, especially because I had been told beforehand that my data should be safe. They eventually gave me a lousy $5.00 eShop credit. Stingy bastards.
I have much love for the Virtual Boy. A high percentage of the games were actually pretty decent. My favorite title on the system is Galactic Pinball. It's my favorite video game pinball ever. Virtual Boy also had two Tetris games! Sure, one of them was Japan-only, but luckily the VB is region free.
@dumedum True, but from what I've seen verification elsewhere that he is indeed a righty in this new game. I just don't get it. It's not like we're waggling a Wii remote anymore. What gives?
Piper, please! C'mon, she's the main character! My 10-year-old daughter would love to add another strong female character to our Amiibo collection. An exclusive weapon or enhanced ability would be a nice add-on.
I love this. I actually deleted someone from my friends list solely because he posted like a mad man on the Miiverse, drowning out other posts from other friends, and it was all extremely stupid, pointless posts. If it was just one post, I could have handled it.
I love Urban Champion. This was the original Street Fighter! I used to play this with my younger brother, back in the 80's. It actually has more depth than you might realize. Here are a list of moves: high strong punch low strong punch high weak punch low weak punch high block low block dodge That's seven moves! That's more moves than most games from that era had. Then you've got other factors that affect gameplay like flower pots being dropped on your head, cops patrolling the streets, a stamina meter and a timer. A lot of people rip on this game without ever having played it. Many of those who have played it, never played it with another person. It makes a big difference. The single player mode is nothing to sneeze at either. When the game was reviewed here, it was said that "The computer-controlled opponents you face are idiots and are very good at walking directly into your fists if you time your punches just right." That's a load of crap if you play this game for any significant amount of time (more than 10 minutes perhaps?). The difficulty ramps up later on, providing a serious challenge to anyone. I'm just glad that someone at Nintendo must still appreciate this game. I feel lucky to have this available on the 3DS. The only thing missing now is online play.
According to Nintendo's website (http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/system_transfer_faq.jsp):
"What Data is Transferred During a Wii to Wii U System Transfer, and what data is not Transferred?
The following is transferred during the system transfer process between a Wii and Wii U:
Wii Software Save Data
WiiWare and Save Data
Virtual Console titles and Save Data
Add-on Content
Wii Points
These points will be combined with the points on the target Wii U system, but cannot exceed a combined point total that would exceed 10,000 Wii Points
Wii Shop Channel Account Activity
Mii Characters
Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection data
The following is not transferred during the system transfer process between a Wii and Wii U:
Data from Wii settings
Preinstalled WiiWare software and preinstalled Virtual Console titles.
Software and save data for which transfer is not permitted, such as WiiConnect24 data
Software that is present on both consoles
While the software will not overwrite what is already on the target Wii U system, the new save data will overwrite what is on the Wii U
Nintendo GameCube Game Disc save data"
The biggest problem with having your Wii bricked is not that you are inconvenienced with having to send it back to Nintendo, it's the fact that you will more than likely lose your save files!
I happened not to do the update because I actually sent my Wii off to Nintendo that very morning. I was having disc reading issues as well as "corrupt save file" issues. I'm afraid that they are going to have to wipe my system's memory clean. Why in the Hell won't Nintendo let us save our all of our save files to an SD card?
