Re: Video: Ever Wondered Why Joysticks Are Always On The Left?

citizen_zane

Being a lefty, it would drive me nuts if I had to use an analog stick to make precise movements with my right hand. That's why I hated when right analog sticks first started showing up. I also think that's why I can't shoot worth a damn when it comes to FPS's.

And another thing. I am really, really good at Tetris. I think being a lefty helps considerably.

@Aozz101x

Discord, all the way. I got turned onto it by a group of users at gametz.com. We wanted to play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe together, it was decided to use Discord and it worked out quite well for us. The nice thing was that some people used their smart phones, while others used their computers. I was able to hook up the headset that I've used for my PS3 to my computer.

Re: Editorial: Losing It All - When a Wii U's External Hard Drive Dies

I feel your pain. When I brought my Wii U home on launch day, I immediately went about transferring my Wii data over to it. After doing so, the system would crash when I played Wii games on the Wii U. I had to send it to Nintendo to be repaired and lost EVERYTHING. I'm talking about saves for Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, Super Mario Galaxy, and dozens of other files. I was sick about it for quite some time. I complained a few times to Nintendo over the phone, especially because I had been told beforehand that my data should be safe. They eventually gave me a lousy $5.00 eShop credit. Stingy bastards.

Re: The Latest Miiverse Update Has Users In An Uproar

I love this. I actually deleted someone from my friends list solely because he posted like a mad man on the Miiverse, drowning out other posts from other friends, and it was all extremely stupid, pointless posts. If it was just one post, I could have handled it.

Re: Club Nintendo Rewards Updated With Some Retro Classics

I love Urban Champion. This was the original Street Fighter! I used to play this with my younger brother, back in the 80's. It actually has more depth than you might realize. Here are a list of moves:
high strong punch
low strong punch
high weak punch
low weak punch
high block
low block
dodge
That's seven moves! That's more moves than most games from that era had. Then you've got other factors that affect gameplay like flower pots being dropped on your head, cops patrolling the streets, a stamina meter and a timer. A lot of people rip on this game without ever having played it. Many of those who have played it, never played it with another person. It makes a big difference. The single player mode is nothing to sneeze at either. When the game was reviewed here, it was said that "The computer-controlled opponents you face are idiots and are very good at walking directly into your fists if you time your punches just right." That's a load of crap if you play this game for any significant amount of time (more than 10 minutes perhaps?). The difficulty ramps up later on, providing a serious challenge to anyone.
I'm just glad that someone at Nintendo must still appreciate this game. I feel lucky to have this available on the 3DS. The only thing missing now is online play.

Re: Wii to Wii U Data Transfer Details Emerge

citizen_zane

According to Nintendo's website (http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/system_transfer_faq.jsp):
"What Data is Transferred During a Wii to Wii U System Transfer, and what data is not Transferred?

The following is transferred during the system transfer process between a Wii and Wii U:

Wii Software Save Data
WiiWare and Save Data
Virtual Console titles and Save Data
Add-on Content
Wii Points
These points will be combined with the points on the target Wii U system, but cannot exceed a combined point total that would exceed 10,000 Wii Points
Wii Shop Channel Account Activity
Mii Characters
Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection data

The following is not transferred during the system transfer process between a Wii and Wii U:

Data from Wii settings
Preinstalled WiiWare software and preinstalled Virtual Console titles.
Software and save data for which transfer is not permitted, such as WiiConnect24 data
Software that is present on both consoles
While the software will not overwrite what is already on the target Wii U system, the new save data will overwrite what is on the Wii U
Nintendo GameCube Game Disc save data"

Re: System Update 4.2 Bricking Wiis Left, Right and Centre

citizen_zane

The biggest problem with having your Wii bricked is not that you are inconvenienced with having to send it back to Nintendo, it's the fact that you will more than likely lose your save files!

I happened not to do the update because I actually sent my Wii off to Nintendo that very morning. I was having disc reading issues as well as "corrupt save file" issues. I'm afraid that they are going to have to wipe my system's memory clean. Why in the Hell won't Nintendo let us save our all of our save files to an SD card?
