Re: Talking Point: Do We Still Need Review Scores?

chagrined

I don't really care about scores but I'll admit I don't really like Nintendo Life's reviews because I find them hard to scan. I prefer reviews where I can easily find which part of the review is talking about which part of the game I'm interested in hearing about. Like, usually how well the controls work is most important to me. Or sometimes I really care about the story in a particular game, etc. I like having headings or something to make it easier for me to go to the part of the review I care most about . I usually do not like having to read through an entire wall of text to find one small point.

Re: PES 2019 Knocks Nintendo Off The Top Of The Japanese Charts

chagrined

@Anti-Matter Baseball has been the most popular sport in Japan, but soccer has been gaining on it for a while. It wouldn't surprise me if it has already surpassed it. And I've heard more Japanese kids wanna play soccer over baseball because soccer is less strict, so maybe those same kids are also more interested in soccer video games.

Re: Nintendo Is Releasing A Super Mario Party Bundle In Japan

chagrined

I already have blue/red & pink/green but I have actually been tempted to get a yellow set because I want the pink/yellow combination. And now Nintendo releases pink/yellow together! Ha. Too bad I have already preordered Super Mario Party too. Well, if they release a good-priced bundle with nice colors here I might cancel my preorder and get that instead, we'll see.

Re: Video: New Clip For Nintendo Labo Vehicle Kit Reveals Multiplayer Mode

I was already definitely going to get it but this trailer prompted me to pre-order from my local store so I know for sure I'll have it on release day. I'm extremely excited to play around with the custom controls feature. Wouldn't be surprised if there's another Labo Creators contest in the future with "best custom control" as a category that time.

I'm very excited for this. I loved the variety kit, but I couldn't use the motorcycle because twisting the throttle hurt my wrist arthritis too much. But I really wanted to play with a fun toy con vehicle still. This one looks like they're all much easier to operate without so much wrist strain PLUS a more involved game makes it a no-brainer for me. Hope they add support for this car in Mario Kart too.

Re: Random: Nintendo Finally Confirms The Correct Pronunciation For 'NES'

chagrined

Eh. In a children's game, of course Nintendo has to add furigana to an English game system acronym. But nothing about this seems like a definitive "and that's how it's officially pronounced." Plus, being an English name for a system not released in Japan, I wouldn't think "hey kiddies here's how you can read this in Japanese" has anything to do with the official English pronunciation. Plus, it'd be pretty hard to fit エン・イイ・エス above NES.

Re: 3DS Receives Another Super Stable Update

chagrined

This update seems to have broken my Streetpass. I have two systems so they usually get streetpasses from each other when both on. Since I saw the update I turned on my second system to update it as well but now no streetpasses are showing up. Anyone else experiencing this? I wonder if it's some other problem with my systems instead...

Re: Atlus Teases Next Stage In Etrian Odyssey Series

@anglon Untold 1 or 2 if you want the option of a preset party with characters with additional story (most people prefer 2, I liked 1 plenty though). All the other games have only the classic mode where you create you own party/characters. IV if you want multiple smaller dungeons and an airship overworld. V for a single large dungeon (no overworld). V is my personal favorite.

I am thrilled they'll continue the series, as this is my favorite series on 3DS. (I'm hoping for and looking forward to the NA release of EOX too.) I hope they find some way to keep the cartography aspect, as that was one of my favorite parts of the games (and what got me to try them in the first place).
