Re: Talking Point: Why Metroid Dread Will Be Worth $60

XBontendo

@Beaucine Well put 10/10 comment.

I've played Breath of the Wild which took me over 100 hours to beat and it was well worth $60.

I've played Resident Evil 2 Remake which took me about 8 hours to beat and it was well worth $60.

The length of a game is largely unrelated to how fun it is. And I imagine that just because RE2 was shorter than BotW, that doesn't mean a great deal of work didn't go into it or that the game isn't worth the cost.

Re: Soapbox: An Anniversary Ode To Okami, The Best Zelda Game That Isn't

@Solomon_Rambling @OorWullie I mean no offense, as I know it's well loved and I'm sure for good reason, but I don't feel as though one should have to wait 15-20 hours to start enjoying a thing. My time is worth more than that.
A personal rule of mine is 3 hours of a game, or 3 episodes of a show. I feel like that's pretty generous still, but worth it out of courtesy of both those who worked on a thing and those who love it. Past that limit, I start to feel like either the developer isn't being considerate of the players/viewers time, or I just don't like the thing.

@Rockman55 this should be getting more attention. The amount of people after your post that are still upset as though television rights aren't always all over the place on streaming services. The plug isn't getting pulled, it's just moving due to typical program reasons.

The move is even in the article, albeit a small mention (edit: I see now this was only after after Rockman brought it to light). I reckon people only read the headline which seems admittedly intentional in leading people down the angry path.

@Liam_Doolan the way you've written this including the "war on Mario" comment feels intentionally inflammatory.

@DjinnFighter I'm a firm believer of the rating scale "Is it fun?"
with a simple answer of Yes/No/Sort Of.
I mean sure, there's always room for a "10" if a game is truly exceptional. But usually I'm just looking for a fun time, and just because a game isn't objectively "good" that doesn't mean it isn't fun.

Basically, I agree with you about Contra.

Re: Feature: The Best Hidden Gems And Overlooked Switch Games Of 2020

@Justaguest of the ones I've played (minish & galaxy) I agree completely. Minish feels more linear than even skyward sword, where can't progress unless you talk to juat the right person for no good reason. Galaxy I could never get into, and is somehow my least favourite 3D Mario.

3 cheers for making me feel less alone in my wrong opinions
