I liked the DX version in the 90s, I reckon I'll like the remade version now. Maybe if it sells well they'll consider this treatment to the Oracle Games
I've been dreamimg of ! controller like this, but not for $60.. I know times have changed, but I bought two of these (same exact style) for $50 total on PS2 back in the day.
Maybe I'm just an Xbo/ntendo fanboy, but I legitimately do not understand why anyone would want a Stadia. Playstation? Sure, I don't want one, but I understand it. Stadia? Just.. why?
You can play games instantly, but get ready for that sweet sweet lag. Also, get ready to find out about your ISP's data cap
@commentlife Any of the trailers/screens for either game so far. Town looks like a Switch game, quality graphics, decent shading, more fluid animations, (beating a dead horse) trees that look like they weren't ripped from the N64.
Pokemon looks like an upscaled 3DS game.
Don't get me wrong, I've no doubt Pokemon'll be a blast to play, but given the revenue this series pulls in, there is no excuse for it to look the way it does. It seems as though, since Pokemon is established and guaranteed to sell, that it's not worth the same amount of effort vs a new IP.
That said, neither game is out & Town could end up looking/playing terribly while Pokemon could push the series further than anyone could have predicted.
But. At first glance, Town seems to be a more polished.
@Anti-Matter Not a machine, just a cloud service so you can play your games anywhere so long as you have a phone and the internet. Also, pretty sure this add-on is optional, and a regular xbox controller will work just fine.
@Leuke Given that's it's included as part of Game Pass I feel like I have to play it on XBox. Don't get me wrong I'm all for portable, but full price on switch, vs already paid for on XBox and going Switch starts to feel irresponsible on my part
Everyone's talking bad frame rate, just watched on my computer and didn't notice any issues. Maybe I'm just not as sensitive to framerates, but this looks like it runs great to me.
@Lawnachaun maybe I'm just unlucky, but even after the update I had 5 crashes, 3 trying to read a certain book, then after I had given up on the one book I had 2 more, one with a chest, one after a boss. I ended up grabbing on Xbox, and it's a fantastic game. I'm sure after patches it'll be up to snuff, and I'm holding onto it as I'd love this adventure on the go, but out of the gate it's a frustrating romp.
@Bunkerneath This is one of those Xbox exclusive games where square kicked off the "I guess Xbox owners don't like RPGs" stereotypes. Xbox: Nah, we just don't like bad RPGs. Square: We'll release it on Playstation & Nintendo, they'll appreciate it. PS&NES: This sucks Square: It's because it's an old Xbox game, we shouldn't put games there anymore.
@NEStalgia Nintendo should really get an online purchase refund policy going. In this day it's unacceptable. If you don't even have the game yet you should be able to refund and buy physically.
just wish they included digital manuals/artbooks. I shouldn't have to google item effects. I'm enjoying it, don't get me wrong. But the collection is kind of bare bones in comparison to other collections that have released in the past few years
@Bunkerneath I do. As someone who subscribes to gamepass, having the ability to play those (even if just the indie ones) on the go as well would be the best value in video games... ever..
@thesilverbrick I've... honestely never thought about carrying over a collection of them. I've caught/traded for a full pokedex from scratch on every release until black/white where it became way too daunting of a task. I feel like your method is way less stressful.
@thesilverbrick I'm kind of relieved they're paring back. I've always been one that tries to catch them all. Which makes every new release that much more work and less game. I know that's my own fault, but still.

@rdm22 In part, yeah. Doesn't make it impossible, just a little more teamwork is needed

Played the demo & wasn't really feeling it. Looks gorgeous though. I loved the color & style
Re: Square Enix Brings Star Ocean: First Departure R To Japan This December
@Alencia agreed, so long as 2 gets more of a makeover. On PSP it was largely just the ps1 game which left it deeling quite dated
Re: Square Enix Brings Star Ocean: First Departure R To Japan This December
Hot fluffing dang. The first one is the best one. Boosh
Re: Japan-Only 'Anti-RPG' Moon Is Getting A Worldwide Switch Release 22 Years Later
I really don't understand this. And I want to play it.

I WOULD LOVE THIS. PLEASE RELEASE IN OTHER PLACES
Re: Assassin's Creed: The Rebel Collection Is A Nintendo Switch Exclusive
@ncb1397 Given that you can currently buy both from the xbox marketplace for a total of $17 USD this is objectively not true.
Re: Blizzard Still Trying To Determine If Cross-Play Would Make Sense For Overwatch
Yes, it would make sense
Re: Assassin's Creed: The Rebel Collection Is A Nintendo Switch Exclusive
An exclusive of a collection of games already out on multiple other consoles. Neat

@iN5OMANiAC at first I honestly assumed it was a sequel by the same team

If I could download and play some of my xbox games on switch I would explode with joy
Re: Nintendo Download: 22nd August (North America)
As soon as Grandia hits a sale I'll pick it up for sure. $40 seems a steep ask. I'll happily throw $30 at it, though

Re: Game Freak Trademark Hints At New Name For Switch RPG, Town
I find it a touch disappointing that this game looks so polished compared to their flagship game that should, in theory, be their primary focus

@Lemmy_the_Koopa I really don't think Switch can handle the RE2 engine, but I'd like to be proven wrong

$20 for this, or $10 on Xbox for the trilogy (it's on sale every month, I swear)
hmm
