Re: Review: Bugsnax - A Charming Idea That Struggles In Execution

Warruz

Im honestly surprised at the negativity around the gameplay. As others have said, played this on the PS5 and me and my fiancee could not get enough of it. Every creature was unique and cute along with many having their own little mini puzzles and charming characters and story. Its a quality indie game with a unique idea.

I would love if a sequel was made that expanded on the concept further.

Re: Rumour: Capcom Has Listed An Unnamed 'Action/Adventure' Game For E3 2018

Warruz

Many are making a false assumption that this isn't for PS4 simply because it isn't listed, when its entirely possible in that its also for PS4 but is simply not listed yet.

Looking through all potential comments, there really isn't any game that fits a mold of all the other consoles besides PS4 that is an action adventure title unless there is some deal being made that prevents a PS4 version. Which as far as I am aware, would be a first.

Re: More Nintendo Switch Rumours Emerge Online

@MitchVogel If you take a look at the sizes of many Wii U games, they are insanely tiny. But I agree, it needs to be bigger, but due to the portable portion, flash is a requirement, but that also adds a benefit to buying physical games due to being flash carts and not needing to be installed.

@Turniplord As @ThanosReXXX said "Laura Kate Dale has already predicted correctly, so we should at the very least keep an open mind about this and consider it to hold some truth, if not be completely true, like everything she correctly predicted about the Switch itself."

IT sounds more like your issue with this is that they are rumors, period, when thats all we are going to get until January.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Switch Release Date and Key Games Outlined

@jimi Yes, I also own a Gaming PC, Xbox One, New 3DS, Vita, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS etc etc, Im a game collector, I own a bunch of different platforms. No need to be hostile about it.

The Gamepad really only affects controls and UI, there is nothing stopping these from being re-worked.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Switch Release Date and Key Games Outlined

A Xenoblade port makes me all excited, hopeful, and frustrated. As a Game Collector, I want to buy Wii U games soon since they will be cheap, but if they are coming to the Switch, why bother, the Switch Version will be improved.

But I also want to play the improved Xenoblade port before I start the game....and perhaps the more obscurbe and popular titles will be ported as well (I AM LOOKING AT YOU TOKYO MIRAGE SESSIONS!).

On the point of the ports, we should all see this coming, its an easy way for Nintendo to have a strong launch and add value to quality games that were largely overlooked due to the Wii U's instalbase.

Re: Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition Coming This November, Ships With 30 Games

Warruz

@DiscoGentleman Yes, because it doesn't bring people into Nintendo's ecosystem. It just, is. To be clear, I am saying short sighted from a business perspective, in that this product doesn't serve as a way to get customers into other Nintendo products. If this was say linked to the eShop, and you could add more VC games if you wished to buy them, and then those were linked to your My Nintendo account, they would really have something here.

The thing will sell like hotcakes, but I doubt it will be creating return customers directly.

Re: Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition Coming This November, Ships With 30 Games

@ThanosReXXX I should really update that page, even its a bit dated (by a few years currently).

I agree, its perfect for that exact case, it just could of been so much more and been a whole other platform that grows and expands. Will I buy? Nope, but I know the perfect gift candidate for it. Like I said, the issue I see is getting those people from products like this into Nintendo's main products, and this has zero connection besides brand, not to mention I would generally consider the people who would want ONLY this don't normally overlap with current Nintendo. It's quite possible they have no intention of doing such a thing, but really, I fail to see why.

As to why people are complaining about it not running their originals or eshop purchases, its because that is this website target audience. They are already in the ecosystem, many own VC titles or the actual physical consoles and were excited at the aspect of this playing them, but it doesn't, and hence why they are upset.

and yes, it will sell a disgusting amount.

Re: Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition Coming This November, Ships With 30 Games

@ThanosReXXX I also have a Marketing background.

You should also know the difference between a bad idea, and one that is considered short sighted. Sometimes as a company you need a short term "boom" for lack of a better term, this does not prevent it from being ALSO short sighted, they are not mutually exclusive.

You should also be aware that it is more valuable for them to get more people into their ecosystem in the long run, which this doesn't do in the slightest as it has no ability to expand past what it is. Its just a quick cash grab, which again, is not a bad thing, it just has no long term worth.

Re: Patent Reinforces the Prospect of Nintendo NX Having a Portable Handset

Warruz

@cleveland124 Wii & DS were anomalies, ones that simply won't be happening again sometime soon because of what markets they were successful with and simply doesn't exist anymore in a similar form.

As for Nintendo being financially secure, yeah, they can screw up for a LONG TIME!

"Buried in reams of financial data is the revelation that Nintendo have 812.8 billion Yen (£6.7/$10.5 billion) in the bank – enough for it to take a 20 billion Yen loss (£163/$257 million) every year until 2052. Then there’s almost 469 billion Yen (£3.8/$6.0 billion) held in premises, equipment and investments. When that runs out – we’re in the year 2075 by this point – they’ve got some of the most valuable intellectual property in gaming to sell off before the company goes out of business."

@ziffy Here are a few articles regarding idol culture and the focus on them being "young", this obviously wont explain everything, but it will get your foot in the door.

@BulbasaurusRex We in the west do not have what Japan considers as "Idols". Just because the word is the same, doesn't mean they carry the same meaning across cultures. The closest thing we have in the west is celebrities, but Japanese Idols, and the culture surrounding them, is quite different then what we have.

If you would like to read a summation of Idol culture, here is a decent write up on it - http://the-artifice.com/the-idol-phenomenon-in-japan-and-anime/
