I'm going to try it this weekend. I would like the satisfaction of beating this game after all these years. I've beaten Simon's Quest and Dracula's Curse so I gotta go for it to complete the trilogy.
@timp29 I know all about it being soul crushing hard. I did beat it after a week of non stop playing....the ending.....well let's just say it won't be the best ending you ever saw in a video game.
This is clearly a double edged sword issue; their network experiences issues when so many people are logging on at the same time to download games, use Miiverse or play online which sucks for everyone. At the same time, this could be a sign that Nintendo is finally moving way more Wii Us into the hands of gamers. If anything, this should motivate them to further enhance their online infrastructure so it can handle more people at a time.
I need to upgrade it; currently I have the ol' fashioned analog TV (complete with a big butt on its back.) In addition to the two games that come with the bundle, I already bought Batman Arkham Asylum and Need for Speed Most Wanted so I'll be ready when I buy a new TV next month. I'm even planning on getting Tekken Tag Tournament, Lego City Undercover and Super Mario 3D World.
But for now, I'm clearing out my 3DS games backlog.
thanks! You know...I may have tried that strategy before but never got the correct timing of whipping and using the holy water. I will definitely try it again; I've since downloaded it to my Wii years ago and have my save state on the 5th stage.
great post/description.....you highlighted some of the Wii U's best games in its library. I recently got a Wii U myself but need a new TV to play it on.
Hopefully this game will sell well BECAUSE of the fact that Nintendo is advertising it. Then they will see that when you ADVERTISE the Wii U and its games, the message will be out there.
Whoah....they made one for Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate? I wasn't expecting them to make a community but I'll check it out since I'm playing through it now. I still have to finish Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon as well.
I plan on getting this game soon. I just finally got a Wii U and plan on going through NSMBU, NSLU, Batman Arkham City and Need for Speed Most Wanted.....joy!
Money is the reason why I haven't picked up the Wii U.....yet. Come this Friday though, I am finally going to take the plunge. Then, only buying a Wii U will force me to address the other reason why I don't have a Wii U now.
People need to release that the only ones who know about the great games available for the Wii U are the ones who visit gaming sites on the internet. If Nintendo doesn't aggressively advertise their console, then people outside of the video gaming circle will NEVER know about the other games BESIDES Super Mario 3D World that are worth playing.
Being that I haven't played the first game and do not own a 360 or PS3, I would consider buying Bayonetta 1 if they released it for the Wii U. Also, I already decided on picking up Bayonetta 2 when it comes out.
There are gamers out there who would pick up both titles and word of mouth could increase the number. We need to support quality games for the Wii U regardless if it's from Nintendo or not.
The only CoD I ever played was World At War on the Wii. I got bored of it rather quickly and plan to but the Wii U soon. After reading the review for Ghosts, should I get it or pick up Black Ops 2 instead as my first shooter for my new Wii U?
I completely agree with this article. If Nintendo knew that they were going to continue the VC service from Wii and bring it to the Wii U, the first thing they should have done is provide resources for re-coding the games that were already available on the Wii VC so they can be brought to the Wii U e-shop; that way those games who be ready from the get go to download and THEN, Nintendo can focus on coding the retro games that never made it to the VC in the first place.
Now this is a sweet bundle! This, along with the Zelda bundle, should help Nintendo to sell more Wii Us. With the release of some new games as well, they can really capitalize on the upcoming holiday season. I'm going to take the plunge and get this bundle along with another game!
People seem to forget that not everyone has the time to invite people over to play games or that their friends have different schedules; which is why online mutiplayer makes sense for some games. This game we are talking about makes sense to have the online component. While I appreciate the developer for coming out and saying why it won't be in the Wii U version, I don't like the impression I'm getting: that when it comes to the Wii U, developers can't be bothered to include all the things that are coming out for rival consoles. It's almost like the developer is saying that they cannot improve the story, make use of the GamePad AND optimize the online multiplayer feature all at the same time.
It just rubs me the wrong way. And yes....I know what it is to play against jerks online on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
I actually would have liked to see the online multiplayer so I'm a lil' bummed out. On the other hand, since when does the publisher knock off some dollars to acknowledge that one version of the game isn't getting all of the features that the others versions will have? If the game shows itself to be a quality title, then we should support WB by purchasing it.
It's good news indeed. WayForward has been doing well in supporting the Shantae franchise and thanks to them I'm finding out why a lot of people love these games.
I'm not going to lie; that special edition bundle looks freakin' sweet. But I've always been the type to buy physical copies. So I'm actually torn between waiting for the physical release of The Wind Waker or picking the bundle up. Then, there's the rumor going around that Nintendo may release another special edition bundle with NSMBU & NSLU included. If it's true, then that is sweet too. By the way, I don't have a Wii U yet. :/
Back when I was growing up, the Disney afternoon was on WPIX (Channel 11) and played Disney cartoons from 2:30 PM to 5:00 OM. Then on every Saturday, ABC(Channel 7) had Disney mornings from 9AM to 11AM and played new episodes of everything I mentioned above and rotated shows with the new cartoons Disney released. Ahhh....the good ol' days.
It looked like Rory had a blast playing it even though he is a bit rusty.
Wow, what an excellent article. Keep up the good work.
I, myself, knew a lot about Nintendo but even I learned a few more nuggets of info about them. This is why I will stick with Nintendo until the day I leave this world.
I'd buy it if it came out for the Wii U. I like a lot of games ranging from the likes of Mario, Zelda and Metroid to Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, God of War and the GTA series (including the DS version.)
Just because I play some games that feature violence doesn't mean I can't appreciate other kinds of games that don't glorify or overdo it.
I agree with the points made about their marketing attempts. No matter what or how good the games are, if people outside of the Nintendo community do not know that the Wii U is NOT the Wii, then even the best games released for the Wii U will not sell. Just look at Pikmin 3 and The Wonderful 101; two excellent games that should be selling way more copies.
I have the NES original cartridge (with box and manuals) and the GBA cartridge as well. I actually played it a lot back in the days and really my only complaint was that it didn't have a second quest like the first game. I don't get all the hate it received but you can't please all gamers especially when it's part of a popular Nintendo franchise. The fact that it's different from the first title is part of what makes it standout. For those of you still on the fence, it's worth checking out and kudos to everyone who mentioned Battle of Olympus and Crystalis (two awesome games!)
It reminds me A LOT of Smash TV.....which is a very good thing. This game needs to be supported......so yes, day 1 purchase for me as soon as I get a Wii U.
It makes sense to have one page for all of their handhelds. I'm looking forward to seeing retro pics of their past handhelds and reminisce about the good ol' days of gaming.

Re: Do You Want This Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-Themed NES? It'll Cost You A Pretty Penny
It looks awesome but to spend over a grand for it? I don't know....maybe if I had money to burn but I'd like to know when it sells and for how much.
