@syntax i'm right there with you. It's been really bad so far and i too have the flickering lights and hearing the wind smack my windows means i wont get any sleep tonight....(typing all of this from the Bronx, NY.)
This week is pretty impressive. I'm interested in the Shock Troopers game as I never got the chance to play most of the Neo Geo games. I played the Mutant Mods demo and thought it was great. I should download it as soon as I beat Cave Story Happy gaming, people!
I guess it comes down to what players feel about it and what kind of games would benefit from voice chat. Judging from my cousins and other people I know who have a PS3/360, they either don't use it or create rooms with people they frequently play with and then turn on the voice chat.
Personally, if people are going to be dips**ts while using it, then I'd shut it off and play in peace.
Enough with the hate!!! If he wants to do this, let him. It's not like this is going to inconvenience you or what's going on in your life.
If he can do it, more power to him. Everyone else can go about their business but if you think slamming on him makes you feel or look better, it doesn't. Stop trolling and keep it moving.
Ahhhhhh.....the memories. This was one of the first games I bought for my NES. It took me three months before I was able to beat the game and for those who haven't played it yet, you will be for a rude awakening. I downloaded the first three NES games for my Wii and I got the anniversary collection for my Gamecube. Still, I'm considering buying it for my 3DS. I love it that much.
It's because of licensing issues that you won't see a lot of classic NES titles based on licensed properties (both NES Ducktales games are great examples.) We were LUCKY to get the first NES TMNT game for the VC but don't hold your breath for parts 2, 3, and 4.
Times have changed people. We used to be giddy everything a game magazine came in the mail; and we were TWICE as hyped up when we knew it was covering the amazing E3 conventions. Now we have the internet to get all of our gaming news. It was a matter of time before we see our beloved magazines shut down.
holy friggin' crap!!! I bought this game in the first week that came out and ALMOST didn't beat it because it was hard for me and I got stuck in certain places. Then I decided to keep trying and beat it a few weeks later. I'm glad it turned into the mature themed game it is now known for because Rare did it in an all out gross but humorous way that not only looked good but played decent not just in the single player mode but in the multi player modes too. A classic N64 game in my humble opinion.
Yes, the casual gamers helped push the Wii into mainsteam success but it certainly had negative effects (the shovelware phenomenon). This is why so many Nintendo fans are concerned that the Wii U will see a avalanche of casual games that just aren't fun to play.
Nintendo should tighten their QA standards so that they don't let any developer push these kind of games unless they put some kind of effort.
I don't mind if they made future Castlevanias in the way of the past GBA and DS entries. But if they really want to return to those kind of games, they got to wake it up so it still feels fresh instead of giving gamers the "been there, done that" feeling.
I can't wait for the new, upcoming 3DS entry though
Interesting to see that the PSP outsold the Vita. Is the Vita really that bad of a portable system? Also, good to see Nintendo pushing more 3DSs including the new XL version.
Wow! What a great selection of recommendations from the NL staff. It looks like I will be downloading some games over the weekend (would like to exchange 3DS FCs with the staff as well as anyone else who sees this as well)
@paburrows I know what you mean about Shinobi because I got it too but don't know anyone else who has it too. I don't know yet about this game but I am playing through the demo now.
wow.....sometimes people need to THINK first before they e-mail you questions, James. But then again, you wouldn't have anything good to share with the readers so it all works out
I can't remember how i heard about Nintendo Life but I do believe it was about a year ago when I stopped by, read a few articles and decided to sign up and see what else this place had to offer. It sucks to see you leave as you and the rest of the guys who write for NL put out quality stuff and really make us, the readers, engage in all things Nintendo related and to shoot the breeze in the forums here. I wish you a lot of luck and continued success when you move on from Nintendo Life.
You got talent so it's no wonder you are moving on to bigger things. Take care homie......peace
P.S. Feel free to add me to your 3DS friends list and I'll do the same.
FMV games were pretty cool at some point but gamers moved on to other genres and quite frankly, it was for the better. I passed on this game in the 90's and would have thought of trying it out for the 3DS. But for $8 bucks?? Hell no lol
Nintendo's E3 show was good but not breath taking. They have a solid lineup of games coming out and I'm glad Reggie addressed the crowd that always demand more and are NEVER satisfied. It's clear that people wanted surprise announcements instead of confirmation that long rumored games are coming out. But these people aren't seeing that we still have a lot to look forward to. Get used to the fact that people love to talk s**t about Nintendo and they want to see them fail and go out of business. Nintendo, however, will still be around for quite a while just like we will continue to voice our opinions, whether we agree with it or not. If you don't like certain games, DON'T plan on buying it. Support them by buying what you like; that's the power of the consumer.
This should be exciting for all Nintendo fans and instead of reveling in what's coming up in the near future, we're worried about how the competition will "trump" Nintendo??? MS and Sony will play their cards accordingly and they will come out with new consoles to keep up in the console race. That doesn't mean it will spell doom for Nintendo so just sit back and see what happens. Nintendo won't let us down as they HAVE to learn from their past mistakes while building on their continued success as a video game company.
I actually don't mind the change from aliens to zombies as it's shaping up to be very good. Remember, we're getting the Aliens:CM game from Sega and Gearbox so they got us covered there.
I'm glad the U.S. finally got Double Dragon 2, a sequel much better than the first one AND the NES port is superior to the original arcade version it's based on. Europe and the rest of the world needs to get this title too.
As for Double Dragon III, Aksys should release it to complete the trilogy but it's not as good as part 1 or part 2.
I actually had owned this on the NES and it was fun in the beginning just to see who can get the high score. Afterwards, it got boring pretty quick. Nintendo should have released this at a cheaper price. The score, however, is fair to me.
I agree with some people here: package this game with Wii U AND include online connectivity from the get go; down the line they should provide DLC content to showcase new attractions. It's a great way to show love to some of Nintendo's frachises that have been dormant for so long.
While graphics are a selling point, they aren't the only thing that matters. Developers aren't making games for the sake of them being fun; they are making them to cater to different crowds and in those crowds, the majority of people would rather play games with shiny graphics while not having fun than vice versa.
I'm willing to give Mercury Stream a chance and yes the graphics do remind me of the Rondo of Blood remake for the original PSP and I thought that game was good to look at.
Thinking about Contra now is looking into the future too quickly. Let's see how Mirror of Fate turns out. If it's a hit and WayForward isn't going to make it for the 3DS, let Mercury Stream have a crack of the whip at it.
While it's not my kind of game, the Just Dance franchise is not shovelware either as it's made a lot of money for Ubisoft. Whatever; to each his/her own when it comes to their favorite games.
I didn't get the opportunity to play Neo Geo games back in the day so it's good to hear about games like Gunlord. If it's released here, it would be a wise decision.
I see the Wii U Pro controller as another option to play most games as well as catering to certain genre titles that some people prefer to play them as. Quit whining about how you don't like certain controllers and try them out before you pick your favorites.
At least the first three games are available to download for those who didn't get the Anthology compilation for the Wii like myself and a few other people.
