Re: Dave Cox - A New Contra Has "To Have a New Idea"

Urbanhispanic

I love Castlevania and was a big fan of the GBA and DS series; I grew up on the NES and Super NES games and played Symphony of the Night to death! I was glad I downloaded Rondo of Blood from the Wii VC as it's good as everyone said. But why the hell is the 3DS version being crapped on?

I understand people don't like the "changes" brought onto the new Castlevania title but seriously...the "Metroidvania" style was starting to get OLD. I don't mind the series going back to its NES roots or Konami making remix editions of past favorites like they did with Castlevania Adventure Rebirth. But for the haters to run Mirror of Fate into the damn ground because it's a "God of War" clone?? That isn't ENTIRELY the truth as familiar concepts and themes from past titles including the portable games MADE it into MoF.

I get it.......to the people who hated it, YES you hated it...but God forbid when someone tried to breath fresh air into a series that's been around as long as Castlevania before it becomes as stale as other popular and long running franchises. As for Dave Cox to take on the Contra series, I'm up to hear what ideas he can come up to top Contra 4 (great title, IMO.)

Re: Capcom: If You Want Games Like E.X. Troopers, You Need To Speak Up

Urbanhispanic

Capcom hasn't been listening to us for a very long while now. I want a new Mega Man that isn't tied into the Legends universe. No offense but I was never into that part of the MM story line but no one forgot how they famously dropped the demo and cancelled and now they are saying to speak up AND they will listen to us????

Who are they trying to fool???

Re: Hideki Kamiya Believes The Wonderful 101 Won't Need DLC

Urbanhispanic

Guys, IPs like this one are the ones that we need to support and it's interesting enough to pick up when it comes out. Plenty of people complain that new IPs aren't supported and right now, I believe that they are putting a lot into the game so maybe we should check it out first before we start demanding DLC for it.

Re: Rumour: Metroid Blasting Onto The Wii U Virtual Console Next Week

Urbanhispanic

Metroid was and still is a good game to play. Despite it looking like such an ancient relic, this is where the series started. For those of you complaining about Nintendo offering this game again, there are still people who haven't played it. And, when Nintendo does start offering GBA games onto the 3DS VC, they will be wise to include Metroid Zero Mission and Metroid Fusion as they both are excellent titles.

Re: First Impressions: Yoshi's New Island

Urbanhispanic

I'm on the fence with this one. I will wait to see how it turns out in the end. I haven't played the DS version but I played the hell out of the first one that came out for the SNES (awesome by the way). I also played the N64 version, Yoshi's Story, and I didn't like it at all.

Ironically, the first title was loathed at first for its graphics style and cutesy music but once you started playing it, you were witnessing one of the best platform games at the time and it STILL holds up. It isn't for everyone so the haters should remember to respect different gaming tastes.

Re: EA: We're Not Writing Off Wii U

Urbanhispanic

I would get NFS: MW because it is the best out of the 4 titles. I agree with other people about Mass Effect 3. How the hell could they release it and then turn around and release the trilogy set for the 360 and PS3? It was a slap in the face for the Wii U so I don't blame people for not believing or trusting EA.

Re: Review: Mega Man 6 (3DS eShop / NES)

Urbanhispanic

I remember buying it just so I can have a physical copy back in '93. I gotta say that this is my least favorite one in the series. The cool aspects of this game is that some stages had you guessing as to which way to go to reach the REAL Robot Master and that two of the Robot Masters were created by U.S. citizens.

But the themes of the Robot Masters were already used in the previous titles and the only time that this game put up a challenge is Dr. Wily himself. Oh well....it's good that it is available on the 3DS VC so that other people can try it out for themselves if they haven't played it yet.

Re: Review: Sniper Elite V2 (Wii U)

Urbanhispanic

I won't get this game. Why would anyone get it knowing that the developer cut off 50% of the features found in other console and PC versions when it could have been included for the Wii U port?

Re: Konami Picks Up New Contra Trademark

Urbanhispanic

Contra 4 for the DS was a GREAT but BRUTALLY difficult game. It had a lot of content to unlock, including the NES versions of Contra and Super C. I still play it from time to time on my 3DS. If any of you out hasn't played, give it a try....especially if you're a fan of the series.

Re: Review: Mega Man X (Wii U eShop / Super Nintendo)

Urbanhispanic

Also, Mega Man X2 had tougher Mavericks but their stages were much easier to navigate. The only challenge that game really brought was fighting the three extra boss characters who held Zero's spare parts....and to this day, I STILL can't find X's secret upgrade to get the Shoriken.

Re: Review: Mega Man X (Wii U eShop / Super Nintendo)

Urbanhispanic

I agree with the review....EXCEPT the part about where it says that the game is real easy. The last couple of stages leading up to Sigma were tough....and the battle with Sigma himself WAS ABSOLUTELY brutal. But once you figure out the patterns, you don't take a lot of damage and get the see the awesome extended ending.

Re: Round Table: Let's Talk About the 3DS

Urbanhispanic

I bought my 3DS in April 2012 and I LOVE it!! I'm constantly playing games on it when I'm not playing some Wii games. The library is now getting strong and there are great games coming soon.

Now, they need to apply the same strategy to the Wii U so Nintendo can sell more consoles and rub it in EA's greedy donkey face! lol

Re: Need For Speed Rivals Not Screeching Onto Wii U

Urbanhispanic

Like some people pointed out already: EA is out to get Nintendo....plain and simple. The last Need for Speed game was called the definitive version of it and proved it to be so. When E3 comes and Nintendo brings out all the good games, EA and certain other developers will be sorry for underestimating the Wii U.
