Re: Review: Double Dragon II: The Revenge (3DS eShop / NES)

@Roadkill409

Well to be fair, the NES version was better than the short, arcade version. It extended the stages, added new sections, made you work for the stronger moves via the heart upgrade system and included a 2 player VS mode using all the characters in the game (though I'm pretty sure the majority of gamers ignored it totally.) But yeah, the taking turns 2 player part sucked and you only got 3 lives to beat such an incredibly, difficult game

While I tend to feel the reviewer of this game was a bit harsh, DD2 did have is fair share of problems. Am I the only one that remembered there is a code for DD2 where if you entered it at the "game over" screen, it granted you an extra continue?? The only catch was you had to enter it quick with the code being fairly long and it only worked on the hard mode AND after you pass Stage 6 (the one with the infamous disappearing series of platforms over spikes.)

Nintendo needs to release this on the Wii U so we can get through the crap that is DD3 so they can release the awesome Super Double Dragon

Re: Feature: Memories of the Wii and DS Wi-Fi Connection Era

Urbanhispanic

I'd had tons of good memories with the Wii DS Wi Fi Connection. For the Wii, the first game i went online with was Medal of Honor:Heroes 2. Soon after, I bought The Conduit and those two were my FPS fix. Then I bought Mario Kart Wii and spent many hours offline and online. But the one game I kept on playing until the night before was Goldeneye 007; man what a fun game and I had only reached level 54!

For the DS, the only game that I played a lot online was Tetris Party. I had a lot of fun with that one as well. All in all, I had good memories and wish the WiiU was doing better so there are more people online playing.

Re: There's No Chance of Super NES Mortal Kombat Titles Coming to the Wii U Virtual Console

Urbanhispanic

I've played the SNES and Genesis version of Mortal Kombat several times back when they were initially released. The SNES version was the one that came closest to the arcade when it comes to graphics, sounds and stage music. The Genesis version featured different stage music, the graphics were pretty muddy but had similar sounds compared to the arcade game. Both versions had stiff controls when it came to pulling off the moves but the ONLY reason the Genesis version was the most popular one was because of the infamous cheat code that unlocked the "real" fatalities for each character, which was animated poorly.

Thankfully, Nintendo got the uncensored version for Mortal Kombat II to level the playing field against the Genesis version of MKII.

Re: Nintendo Switching Off Wi-Fi Connection Service On Wii And DS

Urbanhispanic

I had a good run with games like Mario Kart Wii, Texas Hold 'Em Poker,Tetris DS, The Conduit, Medal of Honor Heroes 2 and Goldeneye 007. Sooner or later, Nintendo is going to shut down the Wii/DS servers and it sucks. But maybe it WILL get some people to go out and buy a Wii U because their NNID servers are up and running.

In a perfect world, they would try to integrate online multiplayer for select Wii/DS titles but this world is far from perfect and Nintendo needs to severely step up their efforts to promote the Wii U. I say....play the hell out of your favorite titles until May 20th....and enjoy every last moment.

Re: Interview: Codemasters - F1 Race Stars: Powered Up Edition

Urbanhispanic

Okay...for the people who are bashing those that are turned off at the fact that this game does not have online multiplayer need to stop. Some of us don't have friends nearby to play games with us and/or kids of our own to play at a moment's notice.

Games like FPSs, racing games and fighting games do benefit from having the ability to play with and against others online. If this title was brought out to Xbox 360/One and PS3/4, there's no way the online multiplayer features would have been left out; why is it acceptable for the Wii U? I'm all for local play and some games are PERFECT for it like puzzle games and SM3DW.

But kart racing games, when done right, are really fun AND should have local play and online multiplayer. There was no reason for them to cut it out and I feel it will hurt their potential sales in the long run.

Re: Watch_Dogs' Pre-Delay Budget Was $68 Million

Urbanhispanic

I'm looking forward to this game and I agree with a few other people here who said they need to show more footage of the Wii U version. Ubisoft scaled back some of their support for it so they need to pull out all the stops if they want us to buy it for the Wii U.

Re: Review: Castlevania (Wii U eShop / NES)

Urbanhispanic

Speaking of the GB titles, while I liked Castlevania Adventure, I felt it was too slow paced, a little unforgiving in some spots and very short. I guess that's why I liked the sequel better as I felt it fixed the issues I had with the first one.
(BTW, the remake of CA, Castlevania Adventure: Rebirth is awesome and worth checking out on WiiWare.)

I'm a big Castlevania fan and if you can beat NES CV 2, I'd suggest you take on CV3: Dracula's Course (hopefully they will re-release it.)

@tj3dsXL

Yes I have.....many years ago when it came out for the NES. But I didn't get into it as much and haven't played it again until it was released for the Wii VC. I played the hell out of it and liked it. It's still a hard game and writing down the passwords sucked but eventually I worked my way and saw 2 of the 3 possible endings.

Re: Video: Xbox One vs. Nintendo 64

Urbanhispanic

LOL what the.....??!?! Man that was one of the best videos I've seen so far. Seriously, this video wasn't meant to be taken seriously but it goes to show that several N64 games earned the "classic" status. Who knows if anyone who bought the Xbox One will remember any of the games released on it 20 years from now; better yet: are any one of those Xbox One titles going to earn the "classic" status?

Re: Talking Point: New Year Resolutions for Nintendo

Urbanhispanic

I definitely agree with all the points presented in the articles, particularly two of them they REALLY, REALLY need to work on: their marketing strategy for the Wii U and an account based system where all of your downloaded games are NOT tied to the console/handheld.

Here is hoping 2014 will be even better for the Wii U and continued success for the 3DS.

Re: Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter Releases Delayed in the West

Urbanhispanic

I hope this motivates Nintendo to further enhance their online infrastructure so their servers can handle more people. I'm hoping that they indeed sold a lot more Wii Us and 3DS handhelds so we all do need to let them do their thing.

It sucks that I have to wait until tomorrow to access the eShop since I just bought a $20 points card to download more games.

Re: Review: Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate (3DS)

@JaxonH

I've heard of Sonic Transformed and still on the fence on whether I should get it. You're right; I like racing games so NFSMW interests me. I also like Mario Kart and I still play it online. As for fighters, every once in a while I pick up one to play.

On topic, I thought Arkham Origins Blackgate was not as bad as some reviews make it out to be. It's not perfect but I'm still playing through it so hopefully i'll beat it soon.
