Re: Talking Point: Does Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Need A Full Remake?

Troubbble

I'm not even sure it's really the best in the series, but this one feels like the definitive, most archetypal Zelda game at this point. For that reason, I feel like a new coat of paint on the new Switch system would be a cool idea.

Contrary to some people's opinions though, I wouldn't like to see much reinvention of OoT's gameplay or story if it were to be remade. Maybe remaking the original game might be more rewarding since translating that "story" and map into 3D would allow more leeway in the interpretation.

Re: whether or not to play the original Mother...

The way I remember it, Mother is substantially more difficult to get through than the sequel at certain points, with some Legend of Zelda-esque moments where it's not clear exactly how to proceed without looking up a hint... But I did find it fun once I got rolling.

Also, I seem to remember it being hinted at that "Buzz Buzz" from the very beginning of Mother 2 is connected with the first game in a way I won't spoil. His appearance seemed a lot more significant after playing the original, I'll say that much...

Re: Soapbox: 'Switch 2' Doesn't Really Need Backwards Compatibility

Troubbble

The only reason to exclude backwards compatibility is to scam us into buying a tremendous amount of these games a second (if not third!!) time. Re-releasing games has been a massive profit driver for Nintendo, and it’s one I doubt they’ll be ready to do without. Especially since Nintendo Life, who rarely seems like a properly impartial review site, is already trying to plant the seeds that it’s not necessary. I can’t think of any reason why ANY consumers should feel that way when it would be simple for Nintendo to achieve and provide massive value.

Re: Hideki Kamiya Is Leaving PlatinumGames

Troubbble

Although I'm sure they will make additional sequels anyway, this has put an immediate damper on my hopes for Bayonetta 4.

Sadly, a lot of people here have commented that future Bayonetta games would be better without Hideki Kamiya's involvement. Even with Bayonetta 3's flaws...are you serious??

But I guess I shouldn't be surprised, when gaming culture is also currently getting hyped on a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake being made without Hideo Kojima's involvement. Not a lot of respect left for the people who came up with these unique franchises...

Re: Hands On: Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 Could Be So Much More, But Isn't

Troubbble

It should be no surprise why Konami won't take the time to get this to run properly. A preview makes it clear that they've been completely careless, and most of the commenters are in agreement that "It's a chance to own this on a Nintendo system, I'm buying it no matter what."

It's the same thing we've seen with the Pokemon series. These companies have realized they can dump on us with impunity, and we're such avid consumers, we'll hand over our money no matter what. But hey, let's get optimistic. Maybe on the Switch 2, they'll rerelease this as the "Ultimate Master Collection," and it will occasionally reach the 60 FPS target that was already achieved a decade ago on PS3.

Re: Triangle Strategy's First Update In Over A Year Adds Extra Story Epilogue

Troubbble

Not only is the dialogue overwritten and repetitive to the point of being tedious, they made the bizarre choice of having it all done with some of the worst voice acting I've ever heard.

The main character's voice would fail to intimidate a gerbil, and even worse, all of the actors constantly put emphasis on the incorrect words, showing that they don't even understand what they're reading and probably did everything in one lazy take. Not sure why they wasted time and money on such poor execution. It detracts from what is otherwise a very fun game to play.
