Re: Nintendo Finally Confirms Call of Duty: Ghosts Is Coming To Wii U

TromboneGamer

When I get a Wii U I'd like to say I'll pick it up, but I seriously do not want a- and excuse my language- "half-donkey" version that lacks the DLC. Even if there's a pack or two that I decide not to purchase I at least want them to be available. This has been a problem since the Wii era and it needs to be fixed in this generation.

Re: Soapbox: Why We Should Expect More From The Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker HD

TromboneGamer

I totally agree. Wind Waker has an enduring art style that wasn't really in need of an upgrade. Playing it on 3DS however would've been a joy. You also make a very good point that an upgraded Ocarina of Time would've been much better suited to Wii U. Though I think people would clamor more for a Majora's Mask HD. You summed up how I feel about the Zelda remakes better than I could have.

Re: Talking Point: The Wii U's Third-Party Concerns Are Brushed Off By 3DS

TromboneGamer

I think your idea of little 3rd party support for 3ds is odd. In the first place the original DS had plenty of great first party titles and many obscure titles as well as was a driving force for the JRPG genre. I believe the 3DS is floating the same boat. Plenty of third party support from many of the same who supported the DS. The Wii really didn't have a support structure like that, not that it wasn't successful anyway. The problem with Wii U in my eye is that it has very few games coming in the next 3- maybe 4 months and the install base may not be large enough for software to reach sales numbers 3rd parties such as Ubisoft that are currently supporting it at the moment are hoping for. The kinds of games that a home console supports are different; however slight, than the experiences on handhelds. I just don't think it'll be so easy for Wii U to gain traction given it's circumstances. I don't own one yet though so it's hard for me to imagine just exactly what it would mean to support the system. (Honestly I think my thoughts are all over the place so hopefully I got my point across)

Re: EA Outlines Its Reasons for Lack of Wii U Support

TromboneGamer

@Yorumi This is because the Wii U severely lacks in content. Come holiday season Nintendo will have their games out, but there's next to nothing filling the gap between now and then. At the moment we don't even have an idea whether Ubisoft has anything planned for Wii U in 2014 let alone something akin to a ZombiU or Red Steel sequel.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Biggest E3 Challenge is Getting Noticed

TromboneGamer

Getting noticed will be difficult if not nearly impossible. The games they announce will catch the attention of those who have played nintendo before, but how will they maintain a relationship with the consumer (in particular new consumers) after that? How many people are going to sell off their Wii U when they're done simply fooling around with just a game or 2 that's caught their attention?

Re: Dylan Cuthbert of Q-Games - Nintendo and Wii U Need a "New Super IP"

TromboneGamer

Holy crap that's a great idea. There was no new Nintendo IP on the wii except for the titles that incorporated "Wii" into the name such as Wii Party. If there were to be a new face in Nintendo's roster I'm sure it could be used as a face to attract people to the struggling Wii U as well. A character that really takes advantage of what the system has to offer.

Entertainment and art in all forms of media are judged by anyone with a righteous and passionate mind (which should be any human being of reason). Everyone has their reasons and both fortunately and unfortunately people are not usually and easily changed.

Re: Interview: Reinventing Castlevania For A New Handheld Generation

Only complaint I had with the demo was the tolerable, but noticeably "low" framerate. Great game design and feel- my impressions as a newcomer to the series. I feel like I should play from the beginning as they may be old the first game at least looks appealing enough to play through and get a feel for the origins of the series.
