I missed out on the original r/place event. I'm glad I was able to participate in this one. Hopefully there will be more in the future because this is the most fun I've had on Reddit.
@Royalblues Why? Because they were able to do it from Gold and Silver to Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, yet somehow can't do it anymore. Obviously not every Pokemon has to be catchable in this new region, however they could at least be transfered to the games through Home like what happened with the Pal Park or Poke Transfer.
@TheRedComet There's no way Game Freak will completely get rid of the standard Pokemon formula. It's a proven formula that works and is almost guaranteed success. I can see them doing a series of games based on the Legends: Arceus formula, but there's no way it will be the standard formula going forward.
I just booted up the game to see what was fixed. The audio mixing is much better than what it used to be, I could finally complete the Asteroid Coaster Rival Rush without the game crashing, and the enemy falling speed was fixed. However, the volume of sound effects and music still cannot be separately toggled, the new soundtrack cannot be turned off, and the cutscenes on the Options Satellite still cannot be viewed in fullscreen. I hope these will be addressed in a future patch. The game is significantly better than how it launched, but that does not excuse Sega from launching such a broken product to begin with.
EDIT: The intro to Starlight Carnival Act 3 is still messed up too.
@BlueMonk How dare people expect the service they have to pay extra for to be good! What a baffling and foreign concept. It's not like we as the consumer have the right to voice our concerns over a product.
I just checked how much Nintendo is going to charge me to switch from a standard membership to the expansion pass membership and it's $31.84. I'm not paying that much with what's currently available. I'll wait until it becomes a better deal or until my current membership is near expiration so I can get access to it for very little money.
EDIT: Just realized it says the discount will get smaller as time goes on. No freaking way am I getting this LOL.
I want to see someone play Boktai through the Game Boy Player. It sounds like such an inconvenient method to play the game, especially when you need to use the light sensor.
I hope the Spirit Board events continue for some time after Sora releases. They certainly take less time and effort to create compared to fighters or Mii Fighter costumes and can continue to be used as a promotional tool for upcoming Switch games.
The only glitches I've been running into consistently are Wisp music not playing and the Lightspeed Dash not working properly. I had the lighting break on me once, but that was fixed by closing the game and restarting it. While I'm having fun with the game, it's disappointing that my experience is being interrupted by glitches that weren't even in the Wii version. Edit: One major glitch I just ran into is that once you beat the Rival Rush level in Asteroid Coaster, the game crashes. It's impossible to get the dark boost cosmetic at this moment.
I was afraid the review embargo being lifted the day NMH3 came out was a sign the game was going to be a catastrophe. Thankfully it doesn't seem so and is actually pretty good. I can't wait to pick up my copy soon.
It would be nice if Nintendo could make their legacy content easy to access on their bestselling system. I'm pretty sure people would rather have an official method of getting these games than resort to modifying their systems and set up emulators just to play N64 or GBA titles.
Pretty interesting how ARMS and XC2, the 2 games Sakurai said barely missed having a character in the base roster, are getting characters in this Fighters Pass.
@BlubberWhale I don’t get it either. For whatever reason, a lot of people who are on this website either hold contempt against Smash players or get unreasonably angry that people enjoy an 18 year old video game more than a 2 year old video game.
I wanted to try out the game again to see how the widescreen worked and to play in the Super Mario Kart Tour, but they stopped supporting all of the tablets and the phone I own.
@carlos82 A lot of the people I've seen make these arguments regarding microtransactions don't seem to understand that microtransactions in these "fee-to-pay" games aren't a surface level issue, rather, they are baked into the game's design and gameplay loop. These companies don't put these opportunities to make extra cash in their games just to give people an "optional" way to unlock stuff, they want the player to get frustrated enough with the boring, repetitive grind and spend extra money to get what you want.
@Darkyoshi98 Just because you don't have to purchase the microtransactions doesn't make their inclusion and the game being designed around getting you frustrated enough to spend money and more justified.
I thought this game could have been the proper return of the less simulation-based and more arcade-styled WWE game. I probably should have realized 2K was going to make this a grindy-microtransaction hellhole to make up for the potential lost sales of 2K21. This is a game I'd rather watch newLegacyInc destroy than actually play.
@SuperWeird The "post-Kickstarter" article that you copied says right above the quote that you copied that the money is going towards backer rewards, DLC, and stretch goals. The quote that you used from the "pre-Kickstarter" article is not a quote from the developer. It's from the writer of the article. If you go on the Kickstarter FAQ, in the first question it states, "With your support, we hope not only to bring The Wonderful 101 to a wider audience on a variety of platforms, but also to add some content that will enhance the experience even more! This campaign is your chance to empower us to pursue self-publishing and take our destinies into our own hands," which is saying they also needed the money to publish the games on Steam and PS4.
@SuperWeird The game didn’t need to be funded, but the publishing, the DLC, the backer rewards, the remixed soundtrack, and the orchestral recordings did. They made that clear in the Kickstarter FAQ and subsequent interviews. It was obvious the moment the Kickstarter was announced that it was made for those reasons I listed and the base game was already finished.
@SuperWeird No one was scammed or deceived. PlatinumGames made it clear day 1 that the Kickstarter was made to fund the publishing of the game on multiple consoles, the development of DLC, and backer rewards.
It would make the most sense to port USFIV considering every other previous main Street Fighter game is on the Switch. I highly doubt SFV would be ported to the Switch considering how involved Sony was with the development of the game.
