@Pokester99 The glitch on Wii was only soft-lock if you made backup saves or got the save data update channel. If you did neither, you’d be screwed and hard-locked.
Joking or not (and he probably is), I don't find it unreasonable to believe he'd have a legitimate translated copy. It's been reported in the past that a translation was planned and scrapped later on, and since he became President of NoA in 2006 (the year Mother 3 released), it's reasonable to believe test copies of the translation were given to him.
@Crono1973 Your sarcasm is both unappreciated and unwarranted. No one knew the Pikmin were going to be at the theme park, up until now it's looked to be almost entirely Mario-themed.
@ilh Day one patches do not mean it’s unready to ship. They’re usually minor bug fixes or patches that barely impact the game’s performance. They’re no more impactful than a future bug fix or patch. Day one patches are literally usually just fixes to issues found after publishing. If it wasn’t in a day one patch but instead in a later update, no one would bat an eye.
It isn’t like Pokémon SwSh or ACNH where they’re making you get the full game gradually - you have the full product with this. The day one bug fix does not change this.
I'm legitimately confused why people have come to hate day one updates. They're so commonplace that they happen for virtually every game nowadays, and wouldn't you RATHER they fix bugs sooner rather than later?
They could keep making shows like The Umbrella Academy, The Dark Crystal AoR, Love Death Robots, or Castlevania, which are good and have actual effort put into them.
Or they could keep digging up more teenie bopper "coming of age" crap like this that rarely works well (the only instance REALLY being Stranger Things), like the Avatar remake, 13 Reasons Why, Sabrina, and now this.
@sbbassist F-Zero has not been sold by Microsoft and is still very much owned by Nintendo. A few years ago a new game was rumored to be developed under Criterion but it was proven false around that time.
Not everyone is familiar with WayForward, even if they might know their games (and they might not even know the games). i, personally, know of Shantae and River City Girls but I was unaware that WayForward was behind them until today.
As much of a fan as I am for Battlefront, Squadrons and Fallen Order, I don’t see it really likely that any of these are coming to Switch. I don’t really see, overall, how this relates to Switch anyhow, even if it is EA. LEGO Star Wars being on Switch doesn’t qualify this for relevancy, EA isn’t involved with that.
Reggie is just going to absorb the entire pop culture industry isn't he? Pizza Hut, Nintendo, GameStop, and now Spin Master. What's next? The United States government?
Definitely picking this up. I've skipped out on LEGO games for the past few years but I've been trying to build up my catalog again lately, and I'm really excited for this one. Hoping to pick it up day one. Big LEGO and Star Wars fan.
I had no idea this game was going to release for free, I had no intention of getting it before. Now I'm actually considering it. (Monetary issue primarily, not just because of the game itself).
Soldier's quote in Expiration Date now sort of rings true.
"WE ARE GOING TO LIVE FOREVER!"
Indeed you will, Rick, now through Soldier, Peppy, and many others.
Chances are at least ONE of the new DLC pass fighters have already started development and gotten approval by Nintendo and/or their publisher. While the span of time in between the older-development fighters in pass 2 and those of more recent development may be longer than originally intended, I'm not to concerned about the pass as a whole.
@MasterGraveheart A State of Play is pretty much guaranteed, seeing as Sony did one at the same time as E3 last year despite it allegedly being unassociated with the event.
I get we don't have a 2020 big direct yet, but it annoys me when people act like Nintendo won't have anything big for this year. They always have more than a few major titles every year, and a lack of a direct isn't going to change that. Just because all we know about are XCDE and ACNH doesn't mean there isn't anything else, because there most definitely is.
Todd Howard walks onstage.
TH: "We hope you've all had a great year with video games. This year, we want to immerse you like never before." A panel opens on the back wall, revealing an entire silo of activated nuclear missiles.
"We're going to eliminate coronavirus - AND you're going to get to play a REALLY LONG game of Fallout."
I am very happy Bethesda and Nintendo suddenly have such a tight-knit relationship. While I'm slightly disappointed we likely won't get any higher-end Fallout or Elder Scrolls title that is FO4+ or ES6+, it's nice to see older ES and Doom games on it, as well as the newer Wolfenstein games. The Evil Within and Fallout in any capacity would be nice for the Switch.
@CapnRustyBeard A few of the legendaries included for this Home update were already confirmed to be findable in the DLC expansions, so the dex will probably update around the release of those. Since the Pokemon in the DLCs are still obtainable for free, the dex expansion will likely be free as well.
I'm gonna probably be disliked for this, but minor correction:
There is only one planet in Metroid Prime (minus Frigate Orpheon, but you're only there for about 10 minutes so it doesn't really count, and it's a ship, not a planet, anyway), Tallon IV. In Metroid Prime II, there's TECHNICALLY only one planet, Aether, though it's duplicated and modified for Dark Aether.
Prime 3 is where we get a bunch of planets and it's where exploration is more varied (notice, I don't believe "varied" to be interchangeable with "exciting". Prime 3 is egregiously linear.)
Jesus, people going off about Fire Emblem in here like it filled up the entire first CP. It's almost like there's a barren wasteland where people were once grateful for Joker, Hero, Banjo, and Terry.
I'm probably picking up ACNH near or on launch, but I'm definitely interested in Doom Eternal. I'll probably pick that one up for my PS4, though, because while I heard Doom '16 runs well on Switch, I'd prefer a more stable option for the more intensive games.
@the_beaver Almost certainly includes event spirits that were circulating from 6.0 to now. Every major update always adds them in permanently, so the Tetris, Resident Evil, and Astral Chain spirits are pretty much guaranteed. The ones for the Kunio-Kun event are likely to be held off until 8.0 since that event starts only a week before 7.0's release.
@Pinkarray There's usually three BIG directs a year - one in Jan-March, one at E3 (June/July), and one some time from Sep-Dec. So yeah, it's extremely likely we get one in the first quarter, even if it's in March.
I agree it takes its... erm... influences from BotW, but many games in the market are bound to be similar. There are too many games nowadays to accurately count TBH, so it doesn't hurt to have some "clones" on the market. Diehard Zelda fan that I am, this game looks great and honestly is a bit more visually appealing than BotW, since it looks a lot more... saturated?
@gaga64 Dude's actually still doing something like everyone on the mural, even if he's standing still. He's obviously comparing his sword and his lance (no, I'm not gonna try saying the names of the weapons because I'll probably get 'em wrong then get swatted by FE fans)

Re: Star Wars Episode I: Racer Is No Longer Speeding Onto The Nintendo Switch Today
A bit tacky to delay it the day of release, but at the very least, it isn't a new game. This game has been out for at least two decades already.
