Picked up Metroid Dread on sale and it's my first 2D Metroid title and whoa, it is incredible. Such love and attention and it's so obvious. My favorite game this year so far.
Loads of people put hundreds, thousands of hours into making this game. Do not boycott it because of one person complaining about being offered what she considers to be a low sum of $ to voice the main character. What a major disrespect to the coders, writers, artists etc. Apparently they don't matter to this woman. How selfish to tell people to boycott this game and create such a drama.
I bought the Switch for it's portability alone. I don't have a TV nor want one. My living room is a room with chairs, couches and plants for people to socialize in as I typically game on the road or in bed. So as long as the new Switch is portable and maybe has the same graphical capability as the PS4 then I will happily upgrade in about a year or 2 as I have so many backlog games I still need to play.
Never much had interest in RPG's like this but that trailer is changing my mind. Visually, it's gorgeous. Luckily it's not releasing now as I have Automata and NMS on the docket for the foreseeable future
@MarioBrickLayer There aren't direct comparables imo. Maybe OpenTTD or for a Switch comparable maybe Astroneer? But I never liked Astroneer.
I like it because you are solving open-ended problems so there are multiple ways to get there (kind of like Opus Magnum) and the difficulty is steep but very manageable. Once you get the gameplay down it is very, very addictive.
@BlackMayge That's very subjective and you're entitled to that opinion. To me, it IS the best game ever created and you cannot change my mind simply by saying it 'isn't'.
I was never interested in Zelda games until I saw a screenshot of BOTW. In fact the only reason I am playing video games now is BOTW. It's a gateway drug!!!
Smaller game but was still a really good game was Manticore. Predictable, cheesy storyline aside the gameplay was strong and the graphics were pretty good.
Hollow Knight and Ori. Two games that I really wanted to like and just never got into. They're both extremely well crafted but do not suit my playing style.
Nier was all I needed to see but there were some other really intriguing titles as well. I liked the presentation and did not come away underwhelmed or overwhelmed.
Skyrim got me through my hardest year yet which is the beginning of this year! I am refreshed now. Great depth to sink your teeth into and disappear into another world for a few months.
Working down the backlog. Took a break from Astral Chain to finally play Doom and I am glad I did. This is the 2017 Doom and my first go at it and it is so much better than I thought it would be considering I am not really much for FPS games.
When I finish that I need to finally finish Astral Chain and then No More Heroes 2.
@BlubberWhale How about leaving politics off a gaming site. I come here for games not some dips social commentary. Take your weariness to Truth Social.
@CANOEberry Considering the developer never added updates to In Other Waters (another excellent game) I'd say no? It's still worth a go. Picked up day 1 as I loved In Other Waters.
You can't really "speedrun" Stardew. You can however speed up various elements of the game. But this is a game where it's a joy to take your time with it. I did however use the bombs to clear the rest of the trees on my farm to make room for more barns.
Why the complaining here. It's shown me something I haven't seen before. I'm ok with clicky articles as news is going to be lite somedays. Why comment with negativity just click the back button and move on jeez.
Seeing as I quit gaming in April of 2021 and then couldn't resist the beckoning call of BotW in October then got hit with the Indie bug and bought Blasphemous, Axiom Verge, Narita Boy and for some reason Borderlands (I had never played before) and now I am hooked to my switch again every night before bed. Indie games are the only thing keeping me interested in gaming until BotW2.
@gcunit I played Stardew for hours when I bought it. Then I sold my Switch and bought Stardew on PC and now that I have a Switch again I find Stardew to be a better experience on the PC.
Picked up Metro 2033 Redux, Inside, Okami and Bioshock Infinite in the big sale. Will play Inside tonight and start either Bioshock or Okami tomorrow. Which should I pick? Flip a coin perhaps.
@PoliticallyIncorrect The carbon footprint of physical games is absurd. Certainly before digital it was awful and it's a progressive step forward to just have downloaded games. So the earth has to pay for your desired nostalgia in 15 years and just to show off your gaming library to your friends. It's flat out selfish.
@Rainz It is fantastic though admittedly it takes a couple hours to really get into it. Once you get the combat down and start exploring the semi open world it's pretty impressive and fun. Some of the youtube boss fights are incredible as some people got reeally good at this game.

As soon as I finish Automata, this is next. Sounds like a grand game.
Re: No Man's Sky To Release Waypoint Update, Adds Relaxed Mode, Switch Bonuses And More
Really keen to try it one day but I just bought Nier and that's going to keep me occupied for the near future.
Why no review NL?
Re: Mini Review: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition - And Another One!
Cash grab? Sure. But if you LOVE the game like I do, it's totally freaking worth it. Bought it the second I saw it on the shop and no regrets.

@Chocobo_Shepherd why don't you investigate it instead of complaining that someone hasn't done free work for you?
