@JaxonH I was going to buy a vita recently but all the games I wanted keep showing up on switch (promised) with less than stellar reviews on the vita versions.
However, experience has shown me that if you change phones , and therefore need to reinstall the two step app, it does NOT always sync as easily as it should and can permanantly lock you out of said accounts they're applied to. No, been there, done that threw away the T shirt. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
If they would have dropped it by 20. They might have increased sales dramatically. I got each model released but prefer the standard (smaller) sized New' N 3ds, also better stability with the 3d imo.
I have both radiant historia in strange Journey but haven't played either one. My time has been spent with the Fire Emblem games for the past year. So now I guess I'll have to buy the two new ones.
@skywake I think what they are saying is people know N is a gaming company but they don't advertise [specific]games as they release. They do seem very restricted in when and where they advertise, if at all; specific titles.
@rjejr the gen that played with these also first played most older video games like pong-pacman-n64-Gcube. The people that first played those are in thier (our) 50-60's yeah we're old so what?Age=Experience Did you think 20 or 30 somethings invented video games?
I could not agree more. I like the 'traditional' styles on both AW & FE better myself... (IMO Fates is ruined for future (gen) potetial players) I dislike thier need to ' new & improve' everything. If it's not broke, don't fix it... This drive toward tying everyything to online or multiplayer is killing what made games of the past so great.
@Aludra-1998 Definately 'Radiant Historia' considering you played Chrono Trigger. (or Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon if you plan on playing F.E. Awakening of F.E. Fates.)
Unfortunately Nintendo doesn't think NA wants anymore Advance Wars because it did so poorly here last time. I say it was poorly timed release. Now is perfect timing especially after F.E. success, since they're made by the same team, and very similar methods. Japan respoded well which is why they are beign offered it on WiiU.
Sorry Davidevoid, I was also including DS games (as someone else did too.) Several did not show up like Locks Quest, AoE; MYTHOLOGIES and several others didn't show then.... (even though AoE AoK did)
@Peppy_Hare Mine (DS & DoR) get daily use also. (i'm so obsessed!) I got ahold of the GBA releases too AND guides (available) for ALL the games. Those and F.E. comprise my greatest gaming experiences, with a few notable additionals; Radiant Historia, Chrono Trigger, Okami Den etc...
@earthboundlink you should have tried (if you didn't already) Tom Clancys; EndWar (on DS) and or Panzer Tactics for the DS. the latter a bit tough to find but rich ww2 version of A.W.
Your database is missing far too many games to try updating accurately. Every other game I try is not here. It does ot find them when spelled properly. Does't show Locks Quest, AoE Mythologies etc...
I have to agree with those above who some called elitists. Awakening felt more watered down than the previous 5 handheld releases; 3 GBA and 2 DS releases. US & J of course... What hurt for me was the poor excuse of a multi-player on Awakening. What was that supposed to be all about? Played it and still don't quite understand it. I have hopes for a real online multi player entry this time around. If it can be done with chess, it can be done [right] here.
@NintyMan An updated Wario Twisted would be a shoe -in seller for this system due to all the input options... but we all know how N overlooks opportunity right in front of them...
@Octane I bought the GB Micro late after sales stopped and I still use it today, it rocks for portable gaming... Yes, why did they stop selling it? They need to figure out a way to stop ending old models (keep them available at lower production runs) and allow Devs to make games for whatever they want... I'd buy for any of them if the game is worthy. I believe Retro sales prove this would be true across the board.
Sorry Nintendo, I heard this story when I bought my DSi XL model only to have it abandon months later.... YOu'll not trick me a second time. "Fool me once, shame on YOU, fool me twice, shame on ME..."
@kenzo I fully agree with your camera comment. Thought I never would but I got loads of use out of the cameras little options on the DSI, it's intersting how they changed how the faces morphed from morphing the faces (in relation pics) to using the outside of face and inside of the other in the 3ds. The first was far better for creating a composite face of two people. The second was a cheesy work-around. .... just to show one options use...
@Dankykong Hey now, I liked the use of the camera for creating your own puzzle backgrounds in JigaPix but they gave you option for saving it. that seemed dumb to me. I had a few of those games but they under-used the idea once again...Nintendo's good for abandoning good ideas early... I enjoy both Hardcore games as well as some 'shovelware'.
I was [more or less] forced to buy the new 3D XL model as my ribbon cable broke/hinge (on release day!) and would have rendered my account and therefor games gone. the N3dsXL is by and far the sturdiest model to date, although what I reallly wanted was the original sized N3ds. Now being so late in it's life I'm afraid to buy it and have what happened last time repeat; I bought the Dsi XL and shortly thereafter it was retired. I still have all my previous models (and use them all). Never thought I'd see the day when the 3ds beat out the DSi, but with Awakewning, F.E. Fates, MM, OoT, MH3 &4 Xenoblade.. well, need I say more?
I still have my original GBA cards for my GBA Micro AND the Original Guide Book by Prima remember them? It is a combo guide for GS 1&2, I reallylike those types.. The item listings, dungeons and artwork is amazing. It's not really a walk through though, thank g-d. Man, I love this series.
@Comboman77 Money is only paper, which shows cridt for the power one has. It is the USE OF THE MONEY, ie the person making the choice that can be evil, not the money itself. " The Love of Money is the route of all Evil' accurate correct quote.
@ArmoredGoomba Since when have you seen two opposing Pokemon storys selling the second one at half price? It's the same deal as Pokemon B;ack VS WHite (until the second path/third option.
@dkxcalibur the two stories are of opposing sides, one plays as a player of light [good] the other a player of evil [wrong doer] so to speak, the third is anyone's guess. You are not buying simply a continuation of the story from the end of either Conquest OR Birthright they are how the story plays out from the opposite choices; one a life of good, the other of evil, the 3rd story is the continuation.
I heard the US release was to be $39.95 for [either] one of the two main stories or available in US was to be a three part/game story with the 3rd donload-able for a pre-ordered price of $79.00. I thought i heard this on a Nintendo Direct... but I could be wrong.
I liked FE Awakening, BUT, nothing will replace the two on GBA and the DS ones (1 not released in NA, played it in Japanese). This one is among one of my favs. FE has ALWAYS had branching stories but there are prerequisites that must be met, in this case killing off a few specific people. Simplicity is the Hallmark of Genius' this is why both Advance Wars and F.E. will always be my fav. (along with Golden Sun 1&2) I have the Original Nintendo Power Guides for All the games I've mentioned; g-d I miss those guides (for present releases); fandom galore.
Too many games released (like this) get released with a whisper, against a background of shouting for the latest Pokemon game (or other 1st party remake) and few ever really hear about it. N releases tons of details about their games and few if any about the 3rd party ones, giving them only half a chance to thrive.
Also it was released at the end of the DSi life cycle while most were waiting to buy the 3ds.
It was not well received, because it was not well advertised for one thing and the above reasons. The game was good nay great IMO and few who even heard of it [& played it] would say otherwise. Loved the story, battle method, art style /graphics, what else could one want? besides a sequel... Count me in for a pre-purchase.
@DoctorOverbuild said "Hmm I don't know if people remember but the game called learn to type with Pokémon adventure came with a keyboard for the DS family they should try implementing that for the 3ds version " ME; Now THAT'S a great idea!
Cover plate ? Meh, I can get and THAT and other [better] looking skins on Ebay. I mean we ARE just talking about a graphic after all. Now the new game, that's another ball game. I'll get it if the financial winds are good to me.
Why didn't they mention Luigis Mansion? Those who own any 3ds and DON'T play/own Majoras' Mask are missing out on one truly classic and amazing experience,Replay value? Tremendous, this coming from a NON Zelda fan... Best game since Fire Emblem Awakening and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Now if we can only get Advance Wars 3D... but I suspect it will never happen for the 3ds.
@ottospooky I couldn't agree more. I had a wife do this same thing to me for dozens of books valued at thousands of dollars, just to insure I never benefited from the sale myself. There's a place in hell reserved for this special kind of wicked person. As the country song said.. "She got the Gold Mine and I got the shaft.." Any readers doubting this is possible, guess again Bad things do happen to good people too.
The battle screens look a bit like the game released in the UK: 'Military History' 'Commander: Europe at War' (for DS) which was released by Slitherine Software, U.K..Which unfortunately had a broken tutorial and not intuitive in the least. I enjoyed the 'Panzer Tactics' for the DS (not the best instructions either) but nothing beats the father of the handheld wars IMO: 'Advance Wars' by Intelligent Sys.. I will be buying this one just the same. You never know when good one will hit and we need support for these type of 'porta-wars' PS Slitherine also did 'History' (same logo as Military History) Great Empires : Rome which released (at least ) in the US, unplayable by my terms though.
