Re: Review: Moon Chronicles: Episode 1 (3DS eShop)

SyFyTy

Ive said it before each individual game the ds had showed lower numbers because the game to gamer ratio was so high. This means the market was saturated with titles, that each title with the exception of very popular ones, showed low numbers, this did not mean games were not good. Add to that the speed with which they were being released and you have fewer opportunities with which to try new titles before the next big thing arrived. This is the reason I'm still buying DSi titles (to this day (2014) and not sweating the 3ds releases.

Re: Legends of Oz Dorothy's Return

SyFyTy

@jgibson75 regarding that original Oz Rpg from the DS days...i bought that game and as jrpg's go it was both unique and good. It used a virtual track ball on the bottomscreen for moving that was really fun and worked great and the graphics were top knotch, The game is/was both traditional and unique at the same time, But enough of each to make it stand out from everything else out there especially for the fan of the movie. It had many unique ideas (battle system) I would like to see repeated in other games of that genre' that were unlike anything else available to date. the story (& Graphics esp OZ) was well done and was an 8 out of 10 in my book for many reasons. Worth tracking down used if you can find it still available. I still own mine today and will keep it. I too was hoping it was related though...

Re: Nintendo Switching Off Wi-Fi Connection Service On Wii And DS

SyFyTy

@SuperMarioBros3 @SuperMarioBros3 nintendo uses a strategy whereby they implement lesser content by product and packaging; giving less, and in the process they charge more for that 'less' this is a proven strategy for short term success only. In the history of business, long term revenues have seldom come from giving less value to the customer and asking for a greater value (investment) from the said same customer. Shert term pleasure always equals lng term pain, ie quick fixes don't work.

Re: Nintendo Switching Off Wi-Fi Connection Service On Wii And DS

SyFyTy

@heathenmagic yes, regarrding Advance Wars: it's time to get those achievements for online in your medals before they shut it down and make that part of the game impossible. And Fire Emblme Shadow Dragon: ? It's time to buy those weapons online before the game is unfinish-able now.

Re: Nintendo Switching Off Wi-Fi Connection Service On Wii And DS

SyFyTy

This WILL make me think twice before buying another Nintendo game with online functionality of any kind. Because the 3ds includes as it's selling popint the use of older DSi games, for this reason alone, the DS online functionality should be supported at least for another 4 or so years. This decreases the reason to buy a 3ds (for me and many others) not improve it. Business tactics like this cost customers, thier being penny wise and pound foolish.

Re: Satoru Iwata Confirms That DS Games Are Coming To The Wii U Virtual Console

SyFyTy

if they want to improve sales , Nintendo needs to stop selling us promises (which they don't keep[on time]) and start selling real time/world products. No more Flipnote (nodelivery)3DS, SwapNOTe,/StopNOTe. and other half baked over reported under delivered items. Tells us about what you HAVE not what you are thinking about. I'm tired of buying promises.

Re: Feature: Advanced Tactics In Spirit Hunters Inc.

SyFyTy

this game is a perfect example of why you should not promise a game too far ahead of release (even for the hype/advrtisement), as it can backfire. Also, don't delay the release date too often, which ties in with the don't tell before it's ready idea) I knew dozens who wanted this but their interest died out, as the news got thin and the clock ticked on to newer, bigger and better things.

Re: The Keep Getting Ready to Explore the 3DS eShop This Summer

SyFyTy

I would like to see a 3d version of Orcs and Elves in the same vein as the ds version. I've been playing the Etrian Odyssey games since the first released on the ds, love the series, but burtal battles beyond belief. (say that 3 times fast..brutal battles beyond belief, brut...bat...beyo.bel....)

Re: Retro City Rampage DX is "Doing Great" on 3DS

SyFyTy

@Giygas_95 Got it, LOVE it, This is not generally my style of game but I can pick it up [intending ] to play 5 minutes, and hour later I'm still playing and it feels as though only 5 min have passed. I have laughed out loud while playing this game every time. Next to Fire Emblem [my first gaming love along wiht advance wars]this rates as the best I've downloaded from eshop to date, as far as fun, entertaining, amount of content, quality etc, I can go on and on. Very good for the price point, THANK YOU. If you're not sure, get it, you won't be sorry at 10. USD. As for thefast story line, orignaly I was confused but the ease of replay-ability made this a moot point. I played first the free play, to get the feel, then the achievements than the story.

Re: Renegade Kid Reveals Upcoming 3DS eShop FPS - Cult County

SyFyTy

it IS a horror survival theme, I read this somewhere else months ago. Theses screens have been available for almost a year on www.3ds-screenshot.com. This site has screens for every major (3ds) release in several languages for viewing directly on the 3ds browser. Though it was only last upated 3-22-2013
and BTW great gameplay without HD graphics can succeed but high def graphics without great gameplay can not succeed. Sooo no graphics mean little to the success of a good game.

Re: Nintendo Still Working On Bringing Game Boy Advance Titles To 3DS Virtual Console, Says Natsume

SyFyTy

Although I have the ambassador games, I also have the original working game carts (and all official original guides for BOTH Advance Wars titles, BOTH Fire Emblem Titles and BOTH Golden Sun titles, each for GBA, for use on my GB Micro, though I'd like em on my 3ds too. those 6 are my greatest gaming pride and joy. By putting the Advance wars GBA cart in the DS lite while playing Advan. Wars Dual strike you were/are able to unlock additional (though minimal) content within the DS AWDS game. Loved it! still got it all. I would love to see Mother3 EarthBound (GBA) come to VC instead of just on the Wii U VC. Sadly no GBA ever will make it to the 3ds, the titles misleading.

Re: Review: World Conqueror 3D (3DS eShop)

SyFyTy

This reminds me of 'Panzer Tactics' for the DS, that was good one with stylyzed retro character with the WW2 theme.. for those interested, but that too was much more direct and easily understood. For those who enjoy updated-retro check it out if you can get one these days. I still have mine. Oh well, back to Panzer Tac. (on DS) & Advance wars 1,2 (GBA) & A.W. DS & A.W. DoR. & End War on the DS.

Re: Review: Art Academy: SketchPad (Wii U eShop)

SyFyTy

@ScorpionMG people MAY be confusing the FREE thing because we got Flipnote free on the DS and were due (in the US) Flipnote 3D free as well, but have yet to get it. SO many may (incorrectly) expect this for free thinking it is a replacement for flipnote 3d... just a guess as to their confusion.

Re: Review: Art Academy: SketchPad (Wii U eShop)

SyFyTy

@aaronsullivan most budding artists who have only used e-art programs are spoiled by the artificial re-production of varying pressures that are 'choose'able from the menus rather than learning it on paper. A practiced artist on paper could have a tough time without that ability but it can be done, as applied to limited art styles. My mother was a graduate (deans list) of 'Julliard' which was one of the US's top art schools years ago, I was brought up on art....

Re: Review: Art Academy: SketchPad (Wii U eShop)

SyFyTy

@Lunapplebloom To layer and shade without the use of tools (or artificial layering) like on many 'programs' is what real art; oil on canvas or pencil on canvas is all about in real life. The 3ds version (much better than the DS one, is 'da bomb'. This (and earthbound) are the only 2 reasons I would want a WiiU. Sorry, and the upcoming Fire Emblem & SMT cross-over.

Re: Review: Art Academy: SketchPad (Wii U eShop)

SyFyTy

@Gameday the 3ds version is much better than one would expect. A complete beginner could learn from it, if they only followed directions exactly. The Wii U will morph into something to behold in due time. And I'm hyper critical about most N stuff, even though I am a fan.

Re: Review: Art Academy: SketchPad (Wii U eShop)

SyFyTy

@Nintenjoe64 I find that hard to believe, the 3ds version is equal to an adult school / night school course on introduction to art. it was quote good and I can only presume this is almost as good. I know, I taught night school courses in 31 schools for 8 years running. The 3ds version is quality and I would expect nothing less of this one. A complete novice would benefit from it.

Re: Soapbox: The Wii U Virtual Console Needs to Freshen Up

SyFyTy

I would like to see all games come out on all systems. Since most people keeping EarthBound Alive all these years were HANDHELD users, EarthBound SHOULD have been released on the already successful 3ds too, not only the lower than low sales of the WiiU, that does not help sell a game. It only illustrates how all these crazy release choices are all about selling one more console than yesterday, while stringing along drooling fans waiting for something that's more interesting than toilet tissue.
I mean who's played EarthBound on a console since is was initially released? NO ONE.

Re: Nintendo Comes Up Empty at the Golden Joystick Awards

SyFyTy

Until this year I WAS a major fan, Lately Nintendo isn't working for their money they're trying to get it by 'phoning in their work', they're trying to get rich from all those years of past efforts and the new games feel cheap and shallow. I was a fire emblem fan for years but this one looks good and feels like a pair of cheap throw away sunglasses. Well N you've lost my money...

Re: Over 61% of Q2 Game Sales in the U.S. Were From Download Products

SyFyTy

that's a very eschewed interpretation: Those numbers only reflect a preference based on limited retail availability. If every game was available on BOTH media formats, THEN and ONLY then, would it indicate a preference in e downloads. Fluff articles like this are designed to get everyone (Sheeple= people who act like sheep; without independent thought of their own) psyched so N may push their download only agenda. It is not an accurate assessment of actual purchasers preferences. The word is P-R-O-P-A-G-A-N-D-A. The haven't had a game I've wanted since Fire Emblerm, does that mean I have not wanted to buy games in the past few months? No. And that's just an example of an overly optimistic interpretation, the same as N is doing... They can't be that stupid to believe their own press on this...

Re: Nintendo Has "Nothing To Announce" Regarding Mother 3 Localisation

SyFyTy

I'll say it again, most Mother Fans were those who owned HANDHELDS, WHY on earth make your ONLY venue for selling it on your SMALLEST install base (WiiU)? It should have released on the 3ds NOT the WiiU if they really wanted game sales....AND console sales. Expensive to translate? Pft, it's already DONE if you know where to look. Now Reggie tells us something that's NOT a lie.

Re: 3D Gaming is Very Much A Part of Nintendo's Future Plans

SyFyTy

@rjejr "This device allows us to get to that five or six-year-old demographic," Fils-Aime
The lack of 3D passes the savings to the consumer,...... We'll see if it sells well or not; parents may buy it in droves along with Pokemon for their kids."

it's all just another extensive Pokemon pitch. They've spent millions so far on having gaming websites talk up their product, this is just another rung in their marketing.

Re: 3D Gaming is Very Much A Part of Nintendo's Future Plans

SyFyTy

@Tony_342 I agree but makes me wonder where the next gen handheld will go... and don't tell me high def, I'm not sold on High Def for cartoons yet... or anything handheld for that matter.. heck maybe this move was designed to set us up (our expectations) for a single screen PAD next... the N pad heck, they could call it... a D Pad.

Re: 3D Gaming is Very Much A Part of Nintendo's Future Plans

SyFyTy

@rjejr yeah, this is also the one (Reggie) that said Black 3eds would not / could not sell in the US (now it IS) : some BS about how we use floor space in stores,,,) & that no one wanted white (then they release PINK?!?! as though more would want THAT?!?! The white sold the ACNL game there are soooo many examples they won't allow me to fill the pages with them... My Motto: I believe none of what you hear, half of what you see and all of which you DO. ESPECIALLY with Nintendo.

Re: Pure Chess

SyFyTy

I-AM- ... all over this... I want! (A backgammon version would be nice too (with the D cube of course)

Re: SteamWorld Dig

SyFyTy

."..10 out of 10 in PocketGamer for SteamWorld Dig:" that's saying alot, I hold thier assessment in very high regard. However I was already sold based on a interview I read with one of the developers.. The screens on the eshop look fantasttic, now to DL....
