Home automation / assistant devices are very much in right now, with companies like Google and Amazon battling it out to sell you small gadgets that guide you through your day and sell you stuff. It's like those cool sci-fi movies with 'smart' houses, but with extra spying on your shopping habits.
In any case, the Sufficiently Advanced YouTube channel has come up with a neat play on the idea, coming up with a system that responds to tunes from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, played on an actual ocarina for good measure.
It's a fun, if not entirely useful, idea - check it out below.
Police services investigating house robberies should perhaps look for anyone skulking around with an ocarina.
With thanks to Joe Corbett for the heads up.

Haha. That's funny. I can just hear the "Song of Crime".
HA! Technology!
Kept waiting for him to keep playing the rest of the songs
But can I get the Navi automated voice app on my iSlate from Baked Apple Inc?
The huge success of these home assistant gadgets says it all about modern society.
Eh...?!
if most people had this then people wouldn't have to break in but instead take music lesson's.
May you live in interesting times.

But what song do I play to flush the toilet?!
As a Zelda fan... That was awesome! 😮
If that last song resets everything, then he also walked out to find his car locked once again...
Funny as a video, but from a tech standpoint this is a bad implementation of domotics with WAY to many wires and extra contraptions needed to make it work. Real life home automation is far superior to this.
Still, it was a fun video to watch. Real life Ocarina's sound bad, though. Probably needs the orchestra to fill out the sound like in the games.
Or he just wasn't really good at playing it...
@Rockmirth The Serenade of Water, obviously.
Looks pretty dope, and didn't watch the entire video, however it would be cool to have regular a interation, not just with the Ocarina (apologies if there is one as well).
Cool!
A true landmark in nerd tech!
NewsFlash: Ocarina now achieves restricted status of Lock Picks.
