@E-Man it looks 'more better'? I think you should invest in some language/reading/writing lessons instead of a game system.

I'll bet the west just gets the same ole cr@ppy Red $ Blue just like the 3ds and every other sinlge item ever sold to the west....I would even accept cruddy silver which we all know from the DS phat, looks horrid & cheesy after a few weeks.

I said I wouldn't buy a new piece of hardware from them until we got this and Advance Wars for this gen. This is why I have no intention of getting the XL, until this is released. and word of Ad War. is on the way to the west. However I DO want one. I'm tired of the west only getting the dirty end of the gaming stick when it comes to Japans games (which are the best around IMO).

If I didn't just buy the white one last week, I'd have gotten that Blood Red one.furthermore, NassaDane; I fully agree, the DSi still rocks and will for some time to go The sys has a buttload of great games to play.. I've got 3 (a black, a a white and a (OMFGTB) espresso XL and a (black) 3ds, and I use 'em all.

I took Visual Basic back in technical school. Until the very last week I tought I was the only person who did not understand. Your final required you to write a program that ran on all platforms available at that time; Win 95, 3.1, Dos,etc.. the upshot is, I was certain I was going to fail, however as it tuns out, I was the ONLY person who passed the class with flying colors. To boot, I actually wrote the code line for line rather than using the available visual references and buttons, grphics etc. it just seemed more logical and easy to understand at that time for me. I realize there are differences between Vis Basic and regular Basic, but I'm excited to explore those.
Readers who tried Wareioware D.I.Y and found learning those game-making tools confusing will absolutely hate this Basic program.
Those of you lazy about the proper use English language are going to have a tough time, I claim ot be no expert, these are just what I found. Basic is NOT forgiving and does not accept ebonics, not even 1 single key of being out of step. One keystroke incorrectly placed and you'll be pouring over hundreds of lines of code to find that single character that is not there. That is only possible fi you understand how it SHOULD look in the first place. Now you know that advantage, all those helpful people you called 'grammer nazi's' (on the net) have over you. There are advantages to learning to do some things the right way, the first time through. Don't get me wrong, Basic is a great program but make no mistake about it, this will seperate the men from the boys, the dreamers, from those who have true drive commitment.

I would like to point out 2 things. #1, there IS more than 1 person in this world named Neil Young Duh, this is NOT the one from Crazy Horse fame The one from crazy horse fame is so reich he doesn't need to work and he's NOT in the gaming business, he's in the music writing/perforoming business. sheesh....#2) I have been a long time civilization Player on PC. Sid Meiers who designed that game (and created Micro Prose, 2k gaming and more holds more awards than any other single game designed in the world today,acording to the Guiness Book of World Records Sid has the very same game Civ Rev on the 360, AND Ds & The Iphone. With the exception of cutscenes it is identical in every way. Who says you can't play a real game on an iphone? Many of Nintendo's games (not 1st party) recently have come FROM the iphone FIRST BTW.No I don't own an iphone or any other gaming phone... But Sony and N have different crowds they sell to, how many coin collecting platformers can you buy for the PSP?, How many shooters can you buy for Nintedos 3ds? Are you getting the pic? They serve different demogrpahics altogether, and those demographcis have varied definitions, besides game types, ages and console size.It amazes me how often everyone defines the rest of the world based on what they interpret to be seeing in thier own small community. That's why they're PAID to look at the big picture (big bucks) and you're PAYING to look at the small screen.

@Ren I just bought a new white one yesterday and I am excited to get it (only $65. USD period NEW. I feel they released the 3ds too soon anyway...(already own a 3ds an, dsi & XL.(all black-dark colors). Still a TON of great games to play on it. I've been scoopin' em up cheap for months now, all under a 5 spot.

Nothing wrong with buying a new Dsi at this stage; I felt that the 3ds was released too soon anyway...I OWN a 3ds and a black DSi & XL + GB Micro, Coffee, and the other 2 black) and I just bought a white one (brand new ONly $65. USD.!! no trade ins at all) I had been waiting for white like forever.... the DSi STILL rocks hard in MY book. It'll take a while before the 3ds becomes BETTER than the DSi.

@Heatran5400 from what I've read on Nintendo's site, you can transfer the Ambassador games up to three times.But I'm unclear about the game saves (on any game besides those using cards). I have heard both that the saves ARE and ARE not transferred, I'm not sure there.

Not sure how many know this, but there is a BASIC program included in Atari Classics for the DS, I believe it is Atari Classic #2, double check it, it may be #1 instead... for the DS, which is similar, and is 'for making games'. They might have a better help guide with it, I'm not sure....

To be fair and leave one last statement, I believe the reason is because a standard was started here that money and power is more important than what we create in this world, more important than our productivity. Money is thier end rather than a reward for thier creative productivity.That is sad indeed. Many would gladly accept money and sit around getting fat, rather than choose a way to find thier personal g-d given talent and be productive for the good of all. That does not make them bad people, just people making bad choices.

@ramstrong I too am an American and I could not agree more with that statement about the average American being Lazy and giving excuses. Humility is a dying and rare gift here in the US, that is to say that there is more money than humility and there is very little money (work) , so say many people, except myself. I know 10,000 people who want a free ride on disability, and only 1 that is on it and wants to go back to work desperately. Fat lazy and generally stupid. PS if it don't apply, let it fly.

I enrolled in a college level class of Visual Basic and by the end of the term when everyone else seem to know what they were doing, I felt sure to fail, I was totally lost. For our finals, we had to create a program (that did anything) that worked on all computers: '92, 3.1 Dos etc... it would be testsed.... Long story short... I was the ONLY one who PASSED with an A- One of my finer achievements in life... and I did it by writing the code not even usuing the visuals... once I grasped the concept, of line structure, and If, else, then statements and such I found it easy.

Nintendo will NEVER have more power than 360 or PSX for this reason, the only people who need/care about more power are those doing MORE fo what they are already doing (graphics junkies take heed). Nintendo is not interested in doing more of the same (CoD, etc...) they are looking at doing DIfferent, which does NOT require more processing power. Therefor N does NOT need more power. Get over this speed/power addiction people or go back to your tired ol 360 & PSx. Its been said by industry leaders that both of 'them' have already overstayed thier welcome (this gen) with thier tired old power housescasing problems for developers by doing so.

I am an avid student of philosophy and Nintendo asking me to 'Place all my eggs in one basket' (electronic download) does not sit well with me. How will you deal with a trade in of your handheld? Once traded you've lost. Much of that could have been resolved if N had a better transfer plan in place. You lose on trade, Unless you sell the original 3ds after trade/transfer. What if water gets spilled on it? It's all gone. Lost? It's ALL gone. Stolen? ALL gone. ANYTHING that violates your warantee? ITS ALL GONE. Murphys law states it's far too big a risk for MY wallet. I'll take mine in a sack to go thank you very much.

There is a simple version of Basic in one of the recent Atari Classic DS Vol 2 If I recall correctly (if not its in vol 1) You can also make games with it. I'll still get this though.

I will buy 4 copies, one for each Nintendo handheld I own so I can always dabble on the go... I am very psyched for this one. I was the only one in my class that passed Basic, everyone else failed it. I had though it would have been the other way around... boy was I surprised.

Speaking of the case design; I prefer the sharp angles to rounded edges myself. Also, about Damien McFarrens Bio... what exactly are you saying? Are you telling us that damien likes 'wood' in his hands or to wrap his hands around his wood? For a Bio that IS a bit confusing... well what then? wooden software? Duh.

Said "Locks are only for honest People". His philosphy was that there wasn't a security measure made by man, that could NOT be circumvented. I fully agree. It is this same principle that states there is no such thing as the perfect crime. Nothing can be done that leaves NO clues at all. Every action leaves a trace. It's how science discovered the universe. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction/ It is a law of nature. This is the core principle in reverse engineering in the corporate world. The answer [a hint of] is always contained in the question, if one knows where to look. I've invested my life study in these principles (not piracy) for well over the past fourty years.

Pastels great, now I can do caricatures on my 3ds.. I hope they include an upload option like the camera on the DSi did, to either facebook or some other better known social site.

I hope the lessons advance past where AA left off on the ds cart/ehsop version did. This is a big motivator for me to get the 3ds XL.

Ya know, I have a GB Micro I still play and that seems a fine fit, screen wise, but the 3ds seems a bit small for my hands and eyes.. FYI I have large, nay gargantuan paddles for hands with sausage fingers. 3ds feels cramped and I HATE that home button situation... that's reason enough right there to buy this new XL...

I do want a XL (even thouogh it is an ugly shaped thing but NOT in those Fugly colors. Why not white? or even black? Why not I mean seriosuly, Why not?. Ad a protective cover to that and it will be a laptop/netbook.

Just for the record, Nintendo didn't learn the lesson, the AMbassadors did. They were the ones who got shafted for the additional money. And don't tell me about the 'free' games (which I already owned in other forms) which were forced on us to shut us up and were given free to those who bought after the announcement and before the official price drop, because N allowed stores to drop prices early). Fool me once shame on YOU Nintendo, fool me twice shame on ME. That move will surely cost them some sales down the road. Bank on it.

@Scissors All you have to do is ASK if it works on a DSI or XL/LL if thier answer is YES, it's real, if NO, it's fake. It's that simple. I am a seller myself, though I never sold fakes I often use stock photos to save time. Many people ,unfortunately, don't mind playing the fakes on thier DS Phat or DS lite. Even Gamestop/EB Games and such have fakes too. People trade thier ebay fakes in there for credit. It's now the nature of things. It is sad because it gives a whole venue (Ebay) a bad name. The sellers WILL tell you (as above) BTW, because thier rating decides how far down the line they show up on your search. SO they DO care even though they sell these. They can't afford a bad rating..

Dev stage is over a long time ago according to Jason. From what I know the kickstarters get thiers in Aug to Oct., everyone else is later. I would say more like WInter '12

I can't figure out why N believes that the West is not interested in FE? Over in Japan it's #1, here they treat its shovelware. the Imagine Series gets more coverage here than FE? WTF?. BTW I can't think of a better game to use spotpass on than Fire Emblem.. spotpass fights, exchange items, weapons etc...This is an auto pre-order. Now for Advance wars..

Starting to get the feeling that the 3ds life span will contain mostly GBC games with a few actual 3ds games sprinkled throughout it's life span.

Can't help but wonder is that Coaster Creator is why RollerCoaster Tycoon 3ds keeps getting delayed..Nintendo often uses a knock off game experience to beat thier vendors to the punch line. System Flaw/Face Raiders is an example of thier copying and idea, not original to them. I love how they pad a 3ds (with wii or WiiU) article to make it appear there is more games being released than there actually is..This list is lame for a comparatively new handheld. I'm one embarassed Ambassador..

Regarding NA release: I wouldn't look for it at Gamestop, according to what he told me.. they're our of the loop so to speak. Maybe try Amazon? though I already am assured one as I got on that Kickstart bandwagon and funded his [roject early. I was taking no chances.

Many small indie dev. don't have that kind of loot laying around the house...do you? Did anyone happen to notice the release date to the right of this article, it lists the US and EU as to be announced. Hopefully that's an indication that we will get it.

Don't you guys get it, Nintendo will never have Youtube, they only annex services that they can control the content of, make sure it is family acceptable. Also they pay for nothing. If someone is on the 3ds, Netflix, Hulu, you can be certain N is getting paid for it, not the other way around. lol please... Pft.
