@BoogilyWoogily Keith, thank the rest of the staff for us, it's a fun game and a great job, any complaints I've heard so far and just not valid, excepting the sound of course, a shut off for music might have been nice though. Been waiting and watching for this one since first heard about it... not disappointed at all. Additional battles or 'challenges for an additional fee as DLC would have been nice to extend it's life or replayability. but what do I know Im no designer, just want to play more of it... Tedious? Pft. not. Some people you just can't please.
@nesrizo96 I have several examples of where N copied others idea and released them before the originating company were allowed to thermselves System flaw and Face Fighters anyone? that's just one minor example... it was released after but a copy for sure. there have been many others, There's NOTHING new under the sun... NOTHING, and I mean nothing.
I bought Both Mario Kart and Sega All Star Racing, needless to say, I no longer have MK. I thought Sega did a much better job and I'm looking forward to this one, PS MK did the alternate vehicles poorly anyway, they felt tacked on or an after thought, not really a benificial part of a new experience...don't even get me started about balance and glitches... in MK.
@Sean_Aaron the problem of digital download is that the physical fomat is around for much longer than the comapny makes the digital redownload available. Which only serves N's wallet...It's the same problem with WiFi focused games, they are far less valued once the initial sales tide subsides as within a year or two there are no servers to play them online. Once servers no longer operate, the games WiFi content is useless and you are left with the little bit of token single play content they might have supplied in the first place...This is a present problem with many WiFi Ds games right now, the online has been pulled already... I have dozens of DS games, some not even opened which are worth half thier original value because they wifi can not be played now...
I notice he justifies his decisions with (faulty ) logic. @tanookisuit I have seen gamestop repeatedly put games back on the shelf, that I returned for scratches, would not play, and they still wanted to off it to someone else who wouldn't return it. They did this knowingly. people kept returning it and rather than call it a write off, they still tried scamming people with it...
To me this is BS because the Magic or illusions game that was sold for the Ds was heavily dependant on the Magic cards all being there and they frequently resold THAT often without the special deck.. so why not here? Because they didn't sell enough, at a high enough price point, to make the money back, that's one reason. If it's not easy money Gamestop is not interested...
"We do not hold such a premise that digitally distributed software has less value. In fact, as we have discussed this with a number of software publishers around the world, we have found that their opinions are completely divided on the topic of the price points .." this is exactly why we are NOT seeing the same flood of interest from game designers on the 3ds that we did on the DS, companies are standing up against Nintendos unfair [read as unbalanced] business practices
It is strange how they alllow the music industry to create the gold standard with the topic of IP rights but when it comes to physical VS digital values they would take the opposite attitude [of said music industry] and say that physical media should be the same price as digitial.. This is funny as I just wrote him (Jason) an email asking for this info as I had heard nothing for a while and wallah here it is,,, but it probably wasn't my letter he was responding to, doesn't really matter I got the info, it works for me. Been following this one can't wait to buy it.
How is this news? Other sites mentioned this almost3 months ago. But after 2 years and when all servers are down, unlike games of yesteryear, these new ones will be un usable trash since there will be no one lift oneline to connect / play the servers will be discountined and the emphesis is about online co op, These type of moves provide more interactive play but at the expense of long term value of the game. No mpore saving it on the shrlf for later play. Still I'm getting it.. dam.
this bites I wanted the Fire Emblem puzzle, like Japan got so that US and Europe had SOME hope that would arrive here as well. I never get the pieces/street pass tags anyway, no one near me owns a 3ds.
Devil Survivor 2 is not likely to get a 3ds makeover as they have stated thier reason for doing it on DS was because it covered both systems and the DS had a larger guaranteed install base. A 3games were fantastic though SMT DS2 was actually better than 1 IMHO.
Hey if Nintendo wants to make and sell me a new map/challenge/scenario for FE or even Advance Wars each week/month I'll buy it. Your damd right I would. without a second thought...In my head it's the same as me buying the next game piece-meal. If it's one of my favs why not? I say Bring it onnnnnn N.
If they really wanted to get this rolling, they would drop the price one some of these games offer just a small amount fewer maps lets say, and let people buy thier way past the amount they normally would have originally spent. I believe most would keep buying long past that original content if they liked it and if they don't they would not have played that new content anyway, so no loss for them I have always said even before the DLC discussion that I would gladly pay for monthly episodes of my fav strategy game; like a game-of-the-month concept. IN this way they could sell say 30 % more content per game. per person..
If they only release, this game, a new Fire Emblem and an Advance Wars for the 3ds,I would be a happy (ambassador) camper...even if no other games ever released, not that I don't want more.. I would love a CIV REV 3ds. I still have a back stock of over 70 DS gamers I purchased, many not even opened yet, that I want to play...
Why a game this direct and simple is not converted to 3d like Excitebike and made available on the 3ds for more us beyond my comprehension. IT seems as though Nintendo is selling thir worse games first (not this one necc.) and slowly building up to the worth while back stock. Just to make sure these have a chance at making a buck by offering them with no competition to speak of.
Al joking aside, the John Deere Heartland DS Farm game (not the proper ds name though) got really good player reviews, so maybe it holds something, I'm mildly interested myself.
@Burning_Spear I agree, It would have boosted thier sales.. maybe they're hoping for people to pressure N into another contract? I've used that business tactic with corporate clients before myself in my business...
this has always been my concern with Nintendos multiplayer, they only support it for short periods. How many full campaigns can I play through ( I have dozens) at once. I have five games that they are already stopping the online servers for the DS(i) games.... that sucks and will greatly change the way I buy games (read how many I buy) this next gen (the 3ds gen) They need to support at lest 2 gens down the road to be fair. Most games only have a shelf life of a few months before they stop serving them...
PS these passme features and Street pass will only make these games more useless once the next gen arrives. There will be need drive to play them when no one else owns one. Just check out the online capabability for those games released for the DSI only 2 years ago, they are no longer online anymore (very few exceptions).I preferr no online except local as it kills the long term value of the game...
Fire EMblem Kakusie or Awakening as it will be known ouotside of Japan or also known as ... THE game you CAN'T *LAY OR HAVE. I hope al you 1st day buyers speak Japanese. cause it won't see Engrish. I'd bet money on that one.
I imported several from different countries for my DS: Crazy Frog Art School, Art Academy (provides step by step lessons & can use camera to suppliment art, some art carts include games for break time between artwork), Paint by DS, Paint by Ds Classics, Paint by DS Miitary Vehicles, Colors (homebrew version). And a few others I can't find at the moment, With the exception of those with similar names., all (including colors) provide options the other ones don't; Art Academy does not provide animation or digital capabilites or 3d (layered) painting, as good as it is...Not all versions have colored pencil, oil, air brush, and other medias...But hey, let's face it being creative (with visual art) is not for those with a limited mental capacity or restricted [to] only mechanical aptitudes ie thumb mashing or even those without fine coordinated muscle control. But those nay-sayers of Colors 3d, probably already knew that... right? Riiighhht. Pfft for YOU we have.. 'Let's Draw'. can-U draw-a bAlL? maybe a RoCk?
Wow, we gamers can be a whiney bunch can't we. One moment we're complaining that every game is the same and they're reselling us the same thing yearly ( BTW with new maps I'm ok with that) and in the next breath we're complaining that they changed too much. Changes should be incremental at best but there's nothing wrong with a spin off or one off. TV shows do it all the time. ALSO Nintendo, PLEASE bring this to the USA & UK thanks. 1 more thing Advance Wars with the Ghost Recon 3ds style depth would be amazing. PS Both art styles AW DoR/DoC and Dual Strike, were both good with me. Without Intelligent Systems games i may not buy Nintendo products.Every Nintendo game I like turns out to be I.S. made.

Yeah I paid the $20 USD because of a previous experience with some games that were on eshop with the same name (but highly reduced content) ***cough 'system flaw' cough 'House MD' cough*..... its no wonder these companies get the wrong idea about whos interested and whos not. Gamestop has had this game on thier site for 3 months but the clerk couldn't find a street date (in his register)and therefor could not take a deposit pre order. Finally just 20 days before release they can. What does that tell the Devs? I can't help but wonder if this is intentional.
I like what BattleToad said above about releaseing them in episodes I thought of something similar before regarding yearsly releases. Instead of changing gameplay, battle methods etc... just add episodes.... I'd buy them for sure.
this is great news for anything like Advance wars, so we can find online players years or months after buyingthe title... but Nintendo's probably doing it to decrease pre-owned sales also.
I have always said Nintendo has left the largest hunk of money on the table with the DSi. If they just stop thinking Pokemon and Mario for a moment, and think more Mobile Info and Wiki accesss maybe, they would easily double the lifetime and maybe even profits of this concept.. Thier limitation to gaming is thier downfall overlooking a windfall of money and uses. Done right it could have rendered the netbook obsolete.

Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd February 2012 (Europe)

Re: DS Speech Recognition Could Help Disabled Children
I have always said Nintendo has left the largest hunk of money on the table with the DSi. If they just stop thinking Pokemon and Mario for a moment, and think more Mobile Info and Wiki accesss maybe, they would easily double the lifetime and maybe even profits of this concept.. Thier limitation to gaming is thier downfall overlooking a windfall of money and uses. Done right it could have rendered the netbook obsolete.
Re: Rumour: Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing Sequel for 3DS and Wii U
looking forward to this, I enjoyed the last one better than MK on the DSi.
