Re: Aspyr Says It's Aware Of Star Wars: KOTOR II Switch Crash Preventing Players From Completing The Game

Stocksy

@shineget64 as I always suspected. Reviewers don’t complete games. In games I’m very familiar with (some of these (ok all of these) are quite niche) and often the reviewer just don’t cover basic points I’d expect and get caught up in things that really don’t matter. So I rarely trust reviewers these days. This is a perfect point. How did this game get the reviews it did? I think reviewers should try all modes and have a passing interest in the genre.

It makes the mind boggle that we weren’t told to avoid this. How did testers not complete the game?!?!?

Re: Nintendo Expands Its Switch Online N64 Library Next Week With Pokémon Snap

Stocksy

Xbox - no exclusives in 2022 - within their sub model that is based on exclusives day one as their big draw.

Sony - rebrand now - charge over double remove half the content and add 12 retro games in the top most expensive tier.

Nintendo - add one game a month to their premium tier.

Are they having a competition/race to the bottom. Who can make the most money whilst insulting its user base?

I own all three so feel triple insulted.

This comment section is gonna be spicy.

It will trigger the catphobes.

If you are a dog person we don’t need to know you don’t like cats.

I jest and I shouldn’t joke about the horrific response to the other list.

Please keep up the lists.

Lots of us here love your work.

Re: EA Has "Some Surprises" You Apparently Won't Want To Miss

Stocksy

Is this the thread where all the cool kids that bash EA hang out….. how very 2008…

Yeah EA…. You are so bad and evil…. (Except now unfortunately many many games companies are worse)…. Let’s all pretend ea make no good games…

He’s behind you…..

EA the gaming pantomime villain….

The comments have amused me though…

I’m looking forward to what they announce. Anything Star Wars would be nice. Anything switch would be nice. News on College football would be nice

Re: Sega Has Considered Dreamcast & Saturn Mini But Is Worried About Extreme Costs

Stocksy

“We we’re gonna make something cool but it was too difficult but we like easy money so have a rehashed thing we’ve already released”

My reply “I’m worried about continuing to support sega in their endless campaign for low hanging fruit and taking my money for low effort so I’ll be passing thanks”

Like the first one I’ll pick up when cheap.

Saturn or Dreamcast would have been day one.

Re: SEGA Announces The Mega Drive Mini 2, Boasting 50 Games

Stocksy

@Bomberman64 because most of us go as legit as companies allow us. I have every mini console released to date. Both versions of the switch. 4 different DS. Multiple game boys. Two ps2s, two GameCubes, n64, two xbox OGS, two 360s, a ps4 pro, XSX, xb1s, ps5… OG megadrive… ps1… and more on top… over well over 2000 phyiscal games and well over 1000 digital games. I think I support the industry heavily. Have I “set sail” yes…. I’m not sure why you assume someone that has “set sail” has no place on an article like this.

If this was a Saturn or a Dreamcast. Or even an expansion for the OG mini I’d be all over this…. This stinks of a easy milking…. It’s so sega and so on brand it hurts

Re: SEGA Announces The Mega Drive Mini 2, Boasting 50 Games

Stocksy

@Bomberman64 lol. I get what you are saying but I really feel we need to move pass the emotional blackmail of buy this thing you only half want and you might get something you really want. I’ve supported sega plenty in the past to the tune of thousands of pounds and they still rarely give us what we want.

Re: Review: NASCAR Heat Ultimate Edition+ - An Ugly, Unremarkable Racer

Stocksy

It’s a cracking game. Maybe it doesn’t look the best but in handheld it’s passable. Tons of cars on the track and barely any performance issues. The career mode has plenty of options with 4 different race series and option to race for a team or own your own (when you have the funds) you then have to staff your team, buy different cars for the different styles of tracks, and invest in the cars and train your staff. You’ll be racing for tens of hours before you actually get to NASCAR series and then you have a way to go to earn enough to buy your own team. The dirt series is really fun and handles completely different. It might not be for everyone but it’s a pretty deep NASCAR experience in your hand.

Re: Contra Anniversary Collection Gets Three Collector's Editions From Limited Run Games

Stocksy

@CharlieGirl yes because contra needs a niche limited run hahhahaha.

How could the company behind Contra possibly afford to do a proper run of games.

“Reasons”

Missing deliveries.
Extremely overpriced delivery charges.
Extremely long deliver times
Arrogant - to non existent customer services.
Games that then get proper full releases after this “limited run”.
Cheap “extras” that don’t quite fit the description.

All genuine reasons.

You however just say you “like them”

Have you used them much? Have you even opened a special edition?

Before you jump on people that raise genuine concerns about a company that does very little to add to the gaming industry and does a lot of damage to companies working in a similar space at least check what people are raising as concerns

Re: Feature: How Limited Run's New Engine Respects The Legacy Of Classic Games

Stocksy

@xiao7 @darkswabber I too own a LOT of LRG releases/versions - must be close to 100. They’ve changed so much and got greedy. Lost sight of what they claimed to be and had so many bad experiences with them I’ve given up. They think they are gaming rockstars and act like it. Do what they want and have terrible customer service. In my eyes a release from them is as good as no release at all. Wouldn’t touch anything from them these days.

I wish places like Nintendo life didn’t fawn all over them but I’m guessing some nice collectors editions grease the old palms.

The comments sections always prove what actual customers think of them.

Re: Mini Review: Tormented Souls - A Survival Horror Homage For Genre Nuts Only

Stocksy

@Zuljaras I think the job of a reviewer is to take personal opinion out of it and instead take a pragmatic stance - stating facts and telling potential gamers what they will find.

I guarantee some games get a 8/9 but the reviewer himself isn’t keen.

I know I’ve played games that I know in the genre deserve a 8/9 but for me it’s a 3/4….

For a site like this many niche titles might not appeal to anyone on the staff.

Niche Sports and driving games are often not like by “hardcore gaming crew” but to review those type of games and say - found it dull and repetitive and didn’t understand the rules - 2 out of ten - would be factual for the reviewer but useless for anyone wanting to know about the game……

Similarly a massive let’s say Dirt racing fan might play the new Tony Stewart game and love it….. certified 10 out of 10… the game they’d been personally waiting for…. (Driving round in circles is therapeutic) and yet for 90% of the readers they might then say 10 out of 10 I’m up for that…. And find out the game isn’t for them…. You have to have a more rounded and balanced approach to reviews so people get a review useful to them.

For me that the difference between a review here or any other “non influencer” website and “influencers” who more often than not get over excited and only give their opinions… often swayed by freebies and sponsors…

Many good reviewers will tell us their opinion in part of the review - see Scullion for this… one of the best in the business for trying to give us the facts and then his opinion….

Re: Scalpers Set Their Sights On LEGO Star Wars Deluxe Edition 'Blue Milk Luke' Minifigure

Stocksy

@GrailUK what people selling something they don’t want?

I’m not sure the issue here, I’m against scalping. 100%.

This isn’t that. People that bought the special edition got a Lego figure with it. Most that want this game won’t have Lego. Have no need for the figure. If you look at the sold items. Many started at 99p auctions and went for £30-50 - would you rather they throw the plastic toy in the bin?

I am genuinely confused by the uproar….

Idiots listing things at £200 mean nothing/ no one has paid that. I see people list standard blurays you can get on eBay itself for a £5 for £60…..

These figures are in demand by people that collect figures but don’t play games. I’m not sure why they don’t buy the game keep the figure and sell the game as they would likely Payless but whatever floats their boat.

I fail to see what anyone needs to clamp down on.

Should all Lego be banned from eBay?

Re: Scalpers Set Their Sights On LEGO Star Wars Deluxe Edition 'Blue Milk Luke' Minifigure

Stocksy

This is not scalping hahaha.

People have bought the special edition and have no need for the mini fingure. They just want game and season pass. Other people just want the mini figure. You cannot get this mini figure elsewhere.

So people are selling on something they don’t need to someone that needs it.

The price people pay for lego is more the issue here.

Scalping is buying something you don’t need or want and selling for a profit….. buying the special edition and selling it for more is scalping.

I really don’t see the issue here.
