Next week sees the arrival of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords on the Nintendo Switch. This is a sequel to the award-winning KOTOR released in 2004 and on the Switch in 2021.
Apart from a new trailer last week, Nintendo has also shared some in-game screenshots on its web pages. Here's a roundup:
One other bonus is the restored DLC content:
"Expand your experience even further with this incredible collection of content featuring new crew dialogue and interactions, a bonus mission starring HK-47, and a new revamped ending, coming as free DLC post-launch."
Will you be adding this one to your Nintendo Switch library when it arrives on the eShop next week? Tell us down below.

Looking forward to this, the price was right for me to pre-order, but I likely won't play till the post-launch DLC.
Really excited for the restored content!
Man, those texts in portable mode...
Maybe, I'm tempted, especially if I feel up to doing the detached joycons.
Waiting for the physical release.
Never played them, and I bet they will be really good games, but truth be told: they look terrible XD. They look like the PC games from the 90s, and I never liked that style...
One day I have to give them a chance, though.
Dunno about everyone else, but those boxes of text need to be about 50% bigger. Otherwise, looks great.
Restored content, eh? Wonder how it compares to the fan mod from several years ago?
It doesn't look great, but I've enjoyed uglier games. Looking forward to this, even though it will probably be a while before I play it.
@the_beaver 90s PC games did not look so good. This is Morrowind era graphics, not Daggerfall.
@the_beaver No, they look like PC/Xbox games from the 00s.
These games weren’t really that impressive visually even when they were new but I can’t wait. The fact they’re adding restored content patch into this version guarantees a sale from me.
@Dr_Corndog it sounds like they took the mod (which was based on what could be datamined of the missing chapter) and polished it up.
@marandahir and, with MW as a pretty good comparison again to show that these games were pretty decent, KotOR 1+2 really had some great animations for the time and genre.
I see the “combat mode” box is sensibly-sized - did they fix this in the original game as well? I remember it being humongous at first, which was really off-putting.
@Falien yes, they fixed it.
Try it! One of the best Star Wars games in existence: deep and intricate writing (every crewmember has his/her backstory and it’s up to you to unveil it), fun gameplay and mechanics, lots of locations to explore. Yeah, the graphics look kinda rough, but there’s a certain charm to it. And then there’s Kreia - my favourite SW character ever.
@marandahir Of course XD, I mean the art style, man. It reminds a lot to them.
@Dr_Corndog It's the same thing. Just officially a dlc so you can install it on a Switch.
@Sam_TSM The mod restores a ton of cut content and makes the ending actually make sense - I wouldn't play the game without it. The HK47 mission is bundled with the mod, but is optional and a bit underwhelming.
Part of the pile of shame on Xbox, hopefully I'll get round to playing this on Switch this time.
@Cipher36 Double pack as with the other Star Wars ports, on 50% sale, and I'll dip for the first time in both. But I will do so happily, in faith that I'll enjoy it and that it could well have been worth getting bot at full price when they were originally released, had I not been mainly playing Nintendo systems and Playstation on the side back then as well. I'm just nowhere near starving for games.
@SiriusA Believing they do actually makes more sense than believing they wouldn't if they could. And nobody KNOWS what they can do, only that they wouldn't tell us, and ridicule (or kill if the other fails) everyone who DOES tell us with proof.
From personal experience I've found out so many things people would ridicule to support their disbelief (and the agenda of their masters), that their 'reality' is utter nonsensical fiction ('follow science'), and science fiction and dystopian stories are often lacking in fantasy to come even close to reality.
One thing is definitely certain: if you're certain that one thing is definitely certain, it's very likely that you're mostly wrong, and still have a point. Just not the right to enforce it upon others politically.
So, what were we talking about again?
As far as I can tell it's just the mod repackaged as a dlc. They also helped make an ios version when they released it there, so I think it's exactly the same idea.
I'm pretty excited - I didn't like the ios controls but I think the Switch will be a good fit for it hand-held.
So glad both these games are now on Switch.
They're a perfect fit. Portable mode on the OLED is natural way to play RPGs.
@Sam_TSM I believe it’s using the mod as a base and they’ve helped get the other content the mods struggled to get over the line. So it’s basically a polished completed version of the mod. Which is awesome. I wouldn’t wanna start the game until the mod dlc is out TBH
When will we get Rogue Squadron 2 re-released??
@Sakura_Fox dont forget a hd remake of rogue squadron 64 as well
KOTOR 1 and 2 were great games when they released, pretty close to perfect games, actually. However, I don’t think I can go back. Old 3D games can be hard to go back to (depending on the game and genre… which ARPGs are definitely a challenge), and I’d rather hold onto the memories of how good the game was than see how dated it’s gotten, especially because there’s a remake coming soon enough.
One of the best rpg I’ve ever played.
@somnambulance there is a complete remake coming out on ps5 or pc of you have. Looking forward to that
