Re: 'Missions And Rewards' Added To Nintendo Switch Online

Stocksy

Just did the missions. Only the going on the app one marks as done. I played a few levels of Super Mario Bros and nothing. Played a game and uploaded save. I see it says here it can take a while for points but surely it should tell me if I’ve done the required to get the mission ticked?

Re: It's Official, Nintendo Has Withdrawn Super Smash Bros. From EVO 2022

Stocksy

@sanderev “fans” don’t own anything. Except products. I own Sony, Nintendo, Sega, Xbox consoles and products and do not have loyalty to one - I buy things I like and don’t buy things I don’t. I own multiple Sony devices and I don’t own Evo. Games companies crossing over and working together is the future. They are in competition but it’s not life and death. It’s proven the three can survive and be profitable together. It’s not in any of their interests to stamp on each other.

Re: Nintendo Appears To Have Improved Switch Online's N64 Emulation

Stocksy

@faint @Screen I liked both your comments. I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. I still haven’t subscribed yet. Holding off until at least the N64 controller is in stock and by then they will have expanded the service and improved it. The truth is it would be my first choice. I’d much rather buy all the old nes and snes games and n64 and have them in a similar app. But I own the games.

Great game that suffered from people associating it with Avengers (which in itself is a decent solo player game) which got hammered for the after campaign stuff…. Cloud version games seem to suffer from that association too. Many switch gamers own another console and don’t like it when a company treats switch users like second class gamers…. And then another group of people can’t get over it when the characters “don’t look like the movies” those three issues all add up and you have a fair chunk avoiding the game even if it’s good in its own right.

Re: Video: What's Going On With Nintendo's Mii, And Why Are They Dying Out?

Stocksy

Miis were fun when they first appeared but now just make a game look aged straight away. Imho they were a bit lazy in the first place. Mii’s should have always been an extra. Wii sports should have had all the Nintendo IPs as playable. I think Nintendo always miss a trick not putting their characters in games. Giving people choice is better. Miis felt over used and under developed and these days they just look silly compared to other personalised characters. I’m all for the throwback option. 100% but kids aren’t gonna buy into creating their own Mii - you need better avatars to appeal to anyone but us oldies that owned a Wii.

Re: GBA Sky Garden Showcased For Mario Kart Tour, Spot The Differences From MK8 Deluxe

Stocksy

@carlos82 100% I’m in both the first two camps tbh. To some extent. I had some fun with phone version.

But it’s the anger that when we then get some love for mk8 and such a massive amount for a relatively low DLC (I paid 16quid on shopto) I think Nintendo can’t really be knocked for this. Supporting a game and giving so much content on a game that most switch owners own. That’s much better than releasing 48 tracks a few new characters and basically the same engine for a mk9 that everyone would have gone crazy for.

Re: GBA Sky Garden Showcased For Mario Kart Tour, Spot The Differences From MK8 Deluxe

People “I don’t like tour, I don’t like control scheme and it’s annoying it gets all these updates whilst mk8 gets no love.”

People “Nintendo constantly overcharge for new games like Mario party when they should have just made it DLC for the other party game”

Same people after mk8 gets double the amount of tracks for £22

“These tracks are just from the mobile game and we can play them on that”

“Why don’t the release these tracks for over twice the price as mk9 instead”

You are twisting my melon man.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Hopes For The February Nintendo Direct?

Wave race. Coming to N64 expansion. - wave race GC getting a remaster and out very soon and a brand new wave race out before end of year. Open world sea sections to explore in multiple locations and 60+ tracks in locals all over the world.

And Goldeneye. Hopefully both OG 64 and that remake.

Also websites will judge the type of content they do by clicks and people visiting and commenting. So the more you click and comment on articles you don’t like the more of them you’ll get. Re: Soapbox: Don't Cheer For Corporate Takeovers - It's Not A Game

Stocksy

@Kilroy behave. You just aren’t paying attention. They’ve said plenty. You stop with the misinformation.

Even if we ignore multiplatform- Bethesda and Activision will release less of their IPs than they did. They will fit into one larger release rotation in the GPU calendar. Fact. Before it was possible to get a Xbox studio: Bethesda and Activision game on the same day or same few weeks. Now all will slot into a single calendar.

We don’t need Xbox to sign post this to know this.

Stop being ridiculous

Re: Soapbox: Don't Cheer For Corporate Takeovers - It's Not A Game

The new rules of being a “real gamer” is you must justify and be behind anything MS do….

Blindly you must cheer it all. They are the saviours.

I own a XSX but the way the Xbox only fans have carried on is eye rolling. I can’t imagine being that loyal to a bit of plastic under my TV.

Independent 3rd party studios and publishers are vital. Losing the massive IPs we have is a bad thing for all of us. Including Xbox box only folk.

People showing in comments they are unable to read a article and just blindly comment and as usual the Nintendo guardians out in force.

Nintendo is a great company and I love my many many consoles made by them - (12 plus) and over a thousand games….

However they also do a lot wrong….

Please don’t be the “Nintendo can do no wrong” person… it’s a massive company they don’t need your blind loyalty

Re: Back Page: "My Uncle Works At Nintendo" - The Man, The Myth, And The Mendacity

Stocksy

It’s really annoying. I was talking to my newphews dad - who works at Nintendo - and he laughed at the rumours they hear. My mums milkman’s brother works at Sony and confirmed it’s just as bad there with the stories that start from these far fetched tales. I did call my neighbours dentists son who works at Xbox but he was in a meeting with EA about a takeover so couldn’t chat and give me any gossip but either way I can’t stand people that make up these ridiculous links with people that work somewhere.

Re: Xbox Boss "Trusts" Nintendo To Not Do Anything That Would Harm The Games Industry

Stocksy

@Spiders Bethesda and Activision have tons of IPs between them and they will be buried in a heavy heavy rotation and some beloved big named games will all but vanish. This is bad for gamers. Especially multiplatform gamers.

This is what I was referring. I own an Xbox. I own every gen of Xbox. Multiple in some gens. They’ve done some amazing things.

Buying up massive third party companies like this isn’t one of them.

Re: Xbox Boss "Trusts" Nintendo To Not Do Anything That Would Harm The Games Industry

Stocksy

@UltimateOtaku91 all of their games have a built in GaaS - log in everyday style grind. I love Forza Horizon - but 4/5 don’t feel as brilliant as 3 did. 3 was a solo players dream. I don’t play online ever. I’m connected but I only player solo modes. So it’s more noticeable to me when those aspect invade a game.

I like Xbox and GPU but it’s got it’s draw backs and I’d rather just buy the games I want and the focus is on balance and not just keeping people hooked.
