Re: Random: Miss Nintendo Directs? Check Out This Crowd-Pleasing 'Nontendo Direct' Presentation

SpiritGun7

@TheFullAndy
You mean to tell me that with all the games announced both first and third party Nintendo couldn’t piece together a direct?

Paper Mario?
Apex legends?
EA’s cute little lineup?

Let alone all the titles in development that have been seemingly in limbo?

They could easily made a direct with legitimate games they can commit to.

How about you grow up rather than attempt to bait and insult people? Unless reading community rules is beyond your comprehension? If that’s the case I’m sure you will weed yourself out.

Re: Random: Miss Nintendo Directs? Check Out This Crowd-Pleasing 'Nontendo Direct' Presentation

SpiritGun7

Clearly you are a troll @TheFullAndy.
Anyone with eyes can see this is fan made video. NON-tendo direct. Hence the footage they used being rehashed footage and a clear lack of new content. Who would expect a fan to fabricate a completely new title concept? Let alone impressive video that’s truly exciting and unpredictable?
The statement I made was that Nintendo argued it was difficult to put together a direct with Covid-19 yet a fan could pull something together on their lonesome or possibly with a small team.

If you are done looking for a fight I’ll bid you adieu. Otherwise take your snarky troll mentality elsewhere.

Re: Nintendo To Cut Back On Mobile Games After Animal Crossing Success, Says Report

SpiritGun7

If the mobile games had synergy with console titles I would have cared more.
Day one miitomo downloader here.

What if Nintendo had a Zelda 2D phone title that essentially served as a side quest for Link’s Awakening? Or whatever 2D Title the move on to. Allowing you to build stages like in the game, accessing even more tiles and challenging others to complete your dungeon both on Switch and on your phone? Complete with high scores.
As a bonus the app would act as a controller for Four Swords/ Triforce Hero’s style gameplay.
Idk mobile games aren’t particularly good at maintaining interest given their general bite size capacity and lack of analog input.

Re: Talking Point: Six Burning Questions We'd Love Nintendo To Answer This Summer

SpiritGun7

@Andrew5678 I agree, there’s plenty to enjoy about Arms, I didn’t say it was a bad game. Just one that lost its potency too fast for me. I also bought it day one and it’s changed quite a bit since then.

Nintendo loves to leave beloved franchise dead unfortunately.
Earthbound, Battalion/Advanced Wars, Golden Sun, Rhythm Heaven, F-Zero, Custom Robo, super princess peach, super Mario strikers, Mario Golf, Pokémon snap<- I know not them but still close enough.
I’d like to see them give lesser known characters the spotlight as well.
Waluigi, E-Gadd for starters.

Re: Talking Point: Six Burning Questions We'd Love Nintendo To Answer This Summer

SpiritGun7

@Andrew5678 I feel you man. I won’t lie I wasn’t the biggest fan of Arms. I love the concept, and the accessibility. Shoot! even the visuals are excellent. I just felt the gameplay loop grew old a little too fast. A sequel could remedy that for sure, the game has personality and as a fan I wouldn’t object to giving it another shot.
As far as Smash goes I’d prefer them to handle it like the Koopalings and have Arms represented by all the mid/lightweight fighters
Spring Man/Ribbon Girl/ Nijara / Kid Cobra etcetera. It could also work to generate buzz for the game. Arms definitely has some cool characters to work with.
E.Gadd should totally have his own spin off game. How sick would that be? Like a tower defense title where he protects the Lab from ghosts as Luigi is exploring the various Mansions?

Re: Talking Point: Six Burning Questions We'd Love Nintendo To Answer This Summer

SpiritGun7

@Andrew5678 I can see where your coming from. As far as Mario kart’s successor is concerned I doubt they would reserve it for the newest console. The sweet spot seems to be now, prior to the new consoles releasing. Maybe pull a BOTW and have it on switch as well as (switch pro?)
Coexistence between the companies is always great, competition is as well given we the gamers win.
Hmmm. The argument for and against MK seem to both have valid points.
DLC for MK8 I feel should’ve happened long ago. Although if they elect to make some I won’t complain I just dislike the reality that MK8 is over 6 years old.
I’ve been wanting E-Gadd for ages man. In smash as well, he could be like Data from the Goonies. Slick shoes, grappling hooks, polturgust and whatnot

Re: Talking Point: Six Burning Questions We'd Love Nintendo To Answer This Summer

SpiritGun7

@Rpg-lover Nintendo is sitting pretty with animal crossing selling like hot cakes. I’m sure they’ve got something planned. They seem like the kind of company to lay in wait see what the competition has to offer and contend accordingly. Loving the PS5 lineup but that’s fresh news. Let’s see if that hype train stays especially with Microsoft having their own reveals pending and our beloved Nintendo sitting on a nest egg of amazing titles.

Re: Soapbox: Wii Party Is 10 Years Old, And I Really Want A Switch Version

SpiritGun7

Great response brother.
Mii’s definitely are an afterthought, can’t say I was ever much of a fan but they did have some degree of charm.
Ring Party Adventure would be an interesting premise for sure.
Although I could totally go for a more fleshed out Nintendo Land. Chase Mii, Luigi’s Mansion and Animal Crossing were all major crowd pleasers and some of the best couch co-op / multiplayer titles I’ve ever played.
I’m sure Nintendo has some nice surprises in store, although Super Mario Party 2 Seems inevitable. Can’t say I was impressed with the first one at all though.
What would be your ideal Nintendo party game?

Re: Soapbox: Wii Party Is 10 Years Old, And I Really Want A Switch Version

SpiritGun7

Honestly both Game and Wario and Nintendoland were slept on as both of those games managed to be immensely popular with company.
Chase Mii, Luigis Mansion and Animal Crossing were all wonderful split screen experiences and would’ve benefited greatly from DLC.
Game and Wario’s Island of Fronks as my friends came to call it was super simple yet delightfully captivating. And Fruit was a pleasant spot the thief game that could have as many players as can watch the screen.
Side note bumpies party was pretty fun too.

Re: Journey To The Savage Planet Makes A Surprise Landing On The Switch eShop

SpiritGun7

Yes, made it to the first area, got the jump pack and a handful of other upgrades. I’ve also been playing in handheld I don’t know if that makes a difference but so far no headaches just periodic blips of well that could’ve looked better.
If you climb on top of the wall of the 1st world and look over the edge the clouds are straight pixels. Paper thin and ugly as sin lol.
It’s also possible that given I don’t walk headlong into hordes of enemies and prefer to snipe them that I never give the game much of a chance to overload itself and haven’t really been hit by the frame rate concerns. @status-204

Re: Journey To The Savage Planet Makes A Surprise Landing On The Switch eShop

SpiritGun7

Just picked it up, honestly it’s premise is more than enjoyable enough to overcome the few performance issues.
The frame rate drops really aren’t all that noticeable and haven’t effected my experience adversely much to at all.
I will say that enemies in the distance get pixelated and their movement looks erratic. Particularly the flying squid things. Everything else thus far has been fine.
The game is vibrant and the loop is enjoyable and simple. Light combat, heavy exploration with a dash of humor for good measure. If you are a performance snob pick it up on another console otherwise this version is A-Ok by me. So far in my two-three hours with the game I’d go so far as to say a pleasant pick up and well worth the money.

Re: Feature: So, Who's Next For Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?

SpiritGun7

Professor E. Gadd anyone? Am I alone in rooting for this silly geezer? Running back and forth with his head lagging behind comically, launching a plethora of gadget based attacks like Data from The Goonies. Plus he could rock the Poltergust and give Luigis Mansion more recognition than just a stage.

Re: Hey Nintendo, Can The Next Switch Update Look Something Like This Please?

SpiritGun7

@Godzil this is true regarding the escape room elements. It’s been a good while since I played them. I believe there was clue hunting and character interrogation involved which reminded me a bit of zero escape. Not really any escape the room stuff I think. Dongaronpa is pretty solid though although it lacks the ridiculously massive list of possible endings.

Re: Hey Nintendo, Can The Next Switch Update Look Something Like This Please?

SpiritGun7

@Godzil they have shown some signs of leaning that way. Kinda snagging all the vita developers. Somnium files is from the same guys who did zero escape I believe. I wouldn’t mind the trilogy but I’ve already played through them so probably wouldn’t pick it up.
Death mark and NG are on sale and they are kinda similar. Fingers crossed the supposed January direct shows some niche surprises. I could go for some SMT V or even an offshoot title or port.
Are there any titles in particular that scratch the zero escape itch that you could recommend?

Re: Ring Fit Adventure

SpiritGun7

@Simonmoskovits need is a strong word, but in the past couple days I’ve grown to really enjoy this game. My wife loves it too and it allows for friendly competition which is always pleasant.

Re: Random: Nintendo Knew You'd Get Sweaty Playing Ring Fit Adventure, Shares Washing Advice

SpiritGun7

My wife and I really enjoy this one. The friendly competition and difficulty selection allow us to tailor the game to our tastes and fitness levels. Vibrant and engaging we love experiencing the next silly fitness themes bad guy. Although not a superb video game by any stretch for what it intends on accomplishing by mixing fitness and gaming I feel ring fit nails it’s target.
Definitely would recommend to anyone who wants to get a little extra exercise into their lives, or people who are looking to make their routine a bit more captivating and fun.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #1 - Super Metroid

SpiritGun7

A pretty one sided selection this go round. The Japanese box art is leaps and bounds better. Not only with adding Kraid and background details but with general depth and color pallet as well. Ridley and Samus don’t just look like they are superimposed over the background. It’s just a really awesome piece of box art all around.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Direct Rumoured For This Week Could Be A Perfect Send-Off For Reggie

SpiritGun7

@ryancraddock I understand that entirely, especially certain sites that post everything as though it were truth they’ve got to be the worst. I meant for more of a for fun kind of article see what the community cooks up and maybe ping pong theories.
Or even something along the lines of a community guess the E3 lineup challenge whoever gets closest gets a t-shirt or download code or something.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Direct Rumoured For This Week Could Be A Perfect Send-Off For Reggie

SpiritGun7

@ryancraddock is it possible to put together a follow up article or discussion article regarding what they would announce or focus on during the direct if it were to be true?
At this point it seems likely Smash would have been the focal point for Nintendo while they save their reveals for E3 maybe add some additional info to fire emblem, Mario Maker or possibly astral chain and Daemon X Machina given they release relatively soon. Idk theories are always fun. Is it too early for an E3 rumor? 😅

Re: Devil May Cry Boss Addresses Dante Smash Ultimate Demand, Says Series Should Be On Switch First

SpiritGun7

@BranJ0 I can see where you are coming from, but I disagree. There are plenty of awesome first party characters that have seen zero love. I think the hype for third parties comes from the broadening of possibilities Smash Ultimate has created.
Because let’s be honest

Rex Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Isaac from golden sun
Spring man/ Ribbon girl or even the ninja dude from Arms
King Boo?
Dixie Kong
Ray MKV from custom Robo
Digging even deeper into the catalogue
Battalion wars? Dead IP I know but still the moveset could easily be like snakes if they made the grunt a character.
Just saying Nintendo has plenty of awesome possibilities in house that I wouldn’t complain if they elected to bring to Smash.
3rd parties have tons of awesome choices too though and they seem more and more likely so I can’t help but agree there is more hype now for them then ever before.
