Re: Pikmin 3 Deluxe: 19 Glorious Screenshots, Box Art, File Size And More Details

Spartacus3765

My thoughts are, if they would have bundled 1-3 together, and even charge like $75 for it, you could create a larger base in anticipation for pikmin 4. But I don’t know the tech and the risks. Heck, I held out on Mario kart 8 deluxe on switch for 3 years. Not that it mattered since it sold like crazy anyway and it’s STILL going for nearly full price. So what do I know. Lol

Re: Deals: There's Really Never Been A Better Time To Buy Starlink On Switch

Spartacus3765

I mean it totally sucks that this game is already getting this price cut, especially for those that got it at launch. But, if that means the word is spread more about this title and it gets a ton more sales, it’s a better move for the series and quite possibly, for future Star Fox titles as well. Ubisoft has my full approval to tackle Star Fox. I approached the game with skepticism, but boy am I glad I gave it a chance for $40.

Re: Review: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - The Absolute Pinnacle Of Nintendo's Fighting Series

Spartacus3765

@AstralOrange64
I’m not a huuuuge waluigi fan myself, but I’m more on the side of “why are they excluding him?”. In terms of sheer amount of fans (at this point) that are into him, it seems like he’s a no brainer to be a part of the roster.
As far as moveset goes, we also never thought we’d see Isabelle running around and beating up people. Waluigi could be a simple echo character to Luigi somehow. I dunno, to me it’s just an odd exclusion- and I’m sure Nintendo does have their reasons. shrug

Re: Guide: The Best Metroid Games - Every Metroid Game Ranked

Spartacus3765

I’m gonna add to this: I like the placement of Prime. Is it right? Well maybe not to some, but I got into the metroid series THROUGH prime. I’m in my mid 30s, so super metroid was obviously something I was aware of, but I got into AFTER playing Prime. Sure, I’d put Prime at the top because of some linked bias I had at the time that triggered me to get into the series, and maybe if I had gotten into super metroid BEFORE Prime I’d maybe feel that it should be before it. But man, we’re talking one 10/10 game versus another 10/10 game here. Is there really a loser here? People need to seriously calm the f*** down. Again that’s just my opinion, man.

Re: Guide: The Best Metroid Games - Every Metroid Game Ranked

Spartacus3765

Wow, I’m just blown away by the divide I’m seeing here from some certain posts. To make a statement about intelligence based on older games and some kind of correlation? I’m not going to tag this person just to get into some lame loop of arguing over semantics on a video game series, but please...there’s a word called ‘subjective’. To curb others intelligence over an opinion of a video game?...That’s not only wrong, it’s actually a bit sad you went to that level. You need to rethink how to state an opinion. Which is just that. In the end, you sound more like a disgruntled elderly person who can’t stand this generation’s music.

Whew, anyway. Good list, love them all. Still never played federation forces or pinball. So I don’t have an OPINION on them.

Re: Mario Tennis Aces Version 1.2.0 Adds The Much-Wanted Mission Retry Feature And More

Spartacus3765

Where to begin with this game. I am by no means a game developer or anything of the sort, but what I do have in my back pocket is experience in playing past Nintendo quality games. And others here I’m sure do as well. Point being, the N64 game, and “Power Tennis” were gems in this series. But since the review of “Ultra” of which I passed (along with “Open” on 3DS) you would think that those at Camelot would be careful on how they approached this new title in the series. I went into it with a full head of steam thinking, “oh yeah, they’ve got their heads back in the game! I mean, look at that review NLife gave it. I’m sold!”. Now, I am never ever one to sell or trade a game, but for possibly the first time, I am seriously contemplating it. Yes, this game is first and foremost a multiplayer game. However, outside of that, this game feels so empty. Someone please answer me what the point is in playing through the Mushroom, Flower and Star tournaments? Isn’t that where we used to be able to unlock characters? Just a dead end. I played it through the one time in that mode and have zero desire to go back.

Ok, so then let’s go to the story mode, surely there’s more content there, right? So ok, you can unlock courts there. Anything else, or did I cover it?

Anyway, these patches, yeah they’re welcome and all, BUT, I feel like the game had the pieces ready to be much deeper and it clearly wasn’t either play tested enough or they wanted to cut major corners for time. I will be a lot more cautious when voting with my wallet with the next iteration and I know I’m not alone in that regard.

Re: Random: Store Shelves Appear To Be Filling With Pre-Owned Copies Of Star Fox Zero

Spartacus3765

@GeminiSaint
Yeah, which is really unfortunate if we're to see another Star Fox game in awhile if ever. Which is really sad because there's potential in this series to be something utterly fantastic. But when they (what seems to be) rush the game out when it should have more content like more branching paths, unlockables, etc., they'll look at the sales and may give up on it. I personally enjoy the game. Controls were somewhat of a hurdle, but I feel better after some time with it.

But when it comes down to it, shooting for high scores anymore as your one and only novelty for replay-ability, isn't my cup of tea. It worked with the N64 game, but for this one, it just feels somewhat empty.

Re: Nintendo of America Apologises for amiibo Shortages and Promises More Re-Stocks

Spartacus3765

@rjejr
Yes, we've notified those who want the splatoon characters. Right now, everybody I think has them (I didn't pre-order them cuz I'm not that interested). But when you hop on, just let us know which ones you want to be on the lookout for and we'll notify when they're available. Every so often we'll feel out the group in the chat to see if there's ones worth alerting to since they either become more common or if people need to be alerted by them anymore.

Re: Nintendo of America Apologises for amiibo Shortages and Promises More Re-Stocks

Spartacus3765

To follow up with my post, after they've had these up for a certain amount of time for people to get dibs on them through their own site (maybe like a day or 2 window), THEN release them for possible pre-order through the major retailers (Best Buy, Target, Wal-Mart, Gamestop, etc.).

There's no sense in complaining about what's going on with the current shortages, but rather I'd like to take the route of, "what can they do to help it out so that people would cut back on their complaining?". If they can do their best to help satisfy their "true fans", I don't see why doing something like this wouldn't benefit everybody.

Re: Nintendo of America Apologises for amiibo Shortages and Promises More Re-Stocks

Spartacus3765

Honestly, I smell an announcement of some kind of online store in the future (e3 perhaps?) for physical products that curtails to the amiibo line and availability. It'll serve both as an online store and club Nintendo replacement. Since it's easy enough to purchase multiple amiibo through various retailers, getting harder to get ones via hoops to jump through with 1.) actually having a Nintendo online account (NNID), 2.) registering consoles/software, and 3.) taking surveys about the company, this will help alleviate the mad dash/pre-order craze because they'll actually go to people who follow Nintendo and want these products. I dunno, all seems kinda logical to me.

Re: Nintendo of America Apologises for amiibo Shortages and Promises More Re-Stocks

Spartacus3765

@Kaze_Memaryu
I will never buy from scalpers or anything above msrp for these things. It's astounding to see people throw almost $100 or more at a plastic figure that literally costs a few dollars to make, if that. I understand the desire to get these things, but they're not going to leave money on the table. Unless people MUST have the first print of Villager amiibo, there's no sense in just waiting it out.

Re: Rumour: South African Retailer Lists Greninja, Jigglypuff and Splatoon amiibo for May Release

Spartacus3765

@JaxonH
I have been seeing them pop up in stores, only to be snagged within minutes, sadly. I'll have to check your link to get the jist of what you guys have going. Only missing Captain, Pit, and King Dedede. Not too worried about King Dedede just yet, but I had Pit and Falcon cancelled in an online order I placed back in December; the order cancellation happened yesterday.

Hopefully this low stock deal will be over soon. Having to constantly check to see if something may or may not have shipped to a store is aggravating.

And I'll be more than happy to join the cause to get people the amiibo they want without heading to resellers - which I still have yet to do, and I don't plan on it.

Re: Weirdness: eBay Trolls amiibo Fans With Gold Mario Tweet

Spartacus3765

I still think Nintendo is putting something in place for this with their new version of Club Nintendo. I think they're probably not too happy about big fans being let down that they can't get some of their rare figures without shelling out major cash on ebay/resellers. Which leads to these big fans being upset with them for future purchases.

If their new fan service program simply has you register products related to amiibo or recognizes that you've been a platinum member for x amount of years, I don't see why there shouldn't be a system in place that gives these members first dibs at these limited or rare items. I dunno, makes sense in my mind.

Re: Weirdness: eBay Trolls amiibo Fans With Gold Mario Tweet

Spartacus3765

I don't have much a problem with this. Honestly, I find it worse when I see posts on Nintendo's Twitter account when they place the extremely rare amiibo (King Dedede, Meta Knight, Rosalina, etc.) in quirky places and say something cute and silly like "Meta Knight looks amazing soaring through the skies! Get him today to add to your Rainbow Curse experience!" As if that wasn't what people were already trying to do. It's like they themselves are oblivious to the stock problem and think it's just as easy as walking into a Best Buy and seeing 20 Meta Knights on the shelves.

Just to note, the only amiibo I'm currently missing is King Dedede of the available 29. I just feel for those that want to get their hands on these things without draining their funds going beyond MSRP. I know I'll never pay above MSRP for these things. And I don't think anyone else should either.

Re: Hundreds of Limited Edition Majora's Mask New Nintendo 3DS Systems Continue to Flood Onto eBay

Spartacus3765

@Finntendo
Well, I think CN needs to be implemented wherever their products are sold. Just seems fair that anyone who has access to Nintendo products should be able to be a part of their Club Nintendo wherever they live just like everyone else. Seems like a way of simplifying things to me. Just my opinion, anyways.

I'm sure Nintendo has their reasons for not offering it in those regions, but I think it should be looked into - not that you're missing anything lately...they're rewards have been so-so compared to prior years. Beats nothing I guess.

Re: Hundreds of Limited Edition Majora's Mask New Nintendo 3DS Systems Continue to Flood Onto eBay

Spartacus3765

@sinalefa, @Phle, @Taikasieni,
This only furthers the point of needing to do away with region-locking, and a universal/global account system. This shouldn't be impossible in this day and age. Also, I never meant it to completely eliminate the scalping problem. Sure, there will be those who will buy Nintendo stuff, register them through CN and still re-sell. But the point being is it would at least slow down the rate of which this is currently happening where Amazon just lets 3 be sold per email address or some stupid thing like that. Something created through Nintendo's own website account system should be heavily considered based on what's been happening these last couple of months. Cuz if the supply keeps coming in like this, it's only going to get worse before it gets better.

Re: Hundreds of Limited Edition Majora's Mask New Nintendo 3DS Systems Continue to Flood Onto eBay

Spartacus3765

Nintendo can control this. Club Nintendo is a perfect outlet to sell these limited editions, collector's editions, etc.
1.) Consumer has to create a Club Nintendo account
2.) Consumer must register at least 1 game (this should cut down on the scalpers to some degree as most I would assume don't even care for Nintendo products)
3.) Limit purchase of limited edition products at 1 or 2 per account holder.
4.) The "limited" about the item would pertain to a time frame as to when it can be purchased - not some unknown stock amount that could run out in hours.
Is something like this too hard to put in place? Seriously, I could be off base here, but what's wrong with this system? Or something like it?

Re: Poll: Which New Nintendo 3DS Will You be Buying?

Spartacus3765

@omalleycat215
Yup. I'm essentially holding the pre-order hostage. lol. Thing is, if I end up not wanting the 3DS, I'm NOT going to want to profit off of it. Stupid thing on ebay has already sold for over $400!!
The way I see it, I have a few options:

  • A friend of mine is possibly interested in getting a new 3DS when it comes out, so if I don't want to pay for this one when it comes out, he can buy it off me since I already have a red XL (the new features are a good step up, but I think I can only justify it I if I did a trade in for it...which leads to my next point)
  • Trade/Sell my current 3DS XL to go towards the new 3DS
  • Trade with someone on Ebay who will get the Limited Edition MM with Skullkid in a way that allows us both to buy the item for MSRP.
  • Last option, which is probably a bit optimistic, is to get lucky and find the Limited Edition MM on my own and either cancel my pre-order of the new 3DS or give it to someone else.

Re: Poll: Which New Nintendo 3DS Will You be Buying?

Spartacus3765

Well, I was lucky enough here in the States to get the Majora's Mask Edition through Best Buy. But to be honest, I kind of only got it pre-ordered in time to avoid the future regret because of the damn scalpers nowadays.

I'd rather just have the Limited Edition MM that comes with Skull Kid...
Maybe I could work a trade with somebody on ebay for it...hmm...

Re: Wii Disc Software Heading to the Wii U eShop

Spartacus3765

The Metroid Prime Trilogy for $10 is the deal of a lifetime. Seriously, those games are easily worth $10 a piece. To get them all for $10 is ludicrous. If you've never played them/don't own them, do not hesitate to get this. And like @earthboundlink said, I'm jelly of people who will get to experience this series for the first time.....FOR $10!

Re: Wii Disc Software Heading to the Wii U eShop

Spartacus3765

And I'll add on to the fact that Nintendo is again adding another platform to bring to the eshop. Good stuff...however, this sounds all too familiar to what they've said in the past. "Nintendo 64 games coming! Nintendo DS games coming!" Almost feel like we'll get another little "rush" of games, then they'll forget it half a year from now. Or in the case of N64/DS games - none. Goose egg, zilch, nada, etc.

Re: Feature: Five Key Reveals We Want in 2015's First Nintendo Direct

Spartacus3765

News on the amiibo/gamecube controller adapter availability seems like a must to me. Ignoring high demand items and "moving on" to other things would not sit well with me for future product lines. Address the issues in some form; apologize for low stock, bring up some kind of solution, at least address they're looking at the situation, SOMETHING that informs the consumer that they've looked into it.

Aside from that, I'm not too worried about what else they announce. Granted, I have a lot of wants, but this is Nintendo we're talking about here. But as long as I'm on here, let's see...oh, some expansion on the virtual console news front; where's the N64 games on the Wii U eshop (not the silly Wii shop - that doesn't count) you promised like 2 years ago? The DS games as well? I'm tired of them bringing up things and not fulfilling those ambitions. Are we just supposed to forget that they brought them up?
