@Lizuka how long did it take to get all 100 endings? I’m kinda interested in it but don’t want to miss out on story endings, but also don’t want to commit 100 hours 😅
Yup. Superb game. I loved every bit of it. And it had genuine AHA! moments. I loved the Obra Dinn-esque mechanic of you having to figure out at least three words right before it let you know if you were right or wrong.
Unlucky because I was in Baghdad when the shock and awe carpet bombing of the gulf war happened (EDIT: wrong name, as pointed out by another comment. Still horrible bombing), and I saw with my own eyes the hell that was dropped down on us and the complete devastation and destruction it caused.
EDIT: to clarify, I’m Iraqi. I was living in Baghdad in 1991 when the gulf war happened and it was hell. I’ve seen things I’ll never forget. I saw the gameboy in Nintendo store NYC in 2007, and I had very mixed emotions as you can imagine.
@JugOfVoodoo none whatsoever. You walk and explore as slowly as you want, and you should. Most of the time you’re hunting for clues while barely moving.
@CivilMadman I think it works way better on Switch cos of the portability. When you randomly think of a solution you can just grab the switch and try it. This game has THE best “AHA!!!” moments in any game, ever, so I hope you get to play it.
It took four restarts for me to get into this, three on PC. Then I double dipped on switch and it clicked. My goodness did it click. And it remains one of the very best games I’ve ever played.
It’s one of those games that I wish I’d forget so I can discover it all over again.
My boys are currently obsessed with Pokemon (thanks Go!) so I’m taking them there this Saturday!
I /am/ dreading the bank balance, but not because of this shop. I’m also gonna attempt to pick up an iPhone 11 Pro without the wife finding out how much it really costs.
Old enough to have played the original DOS version, which didn't really have graphics as such but was made from ASCII through and through.
Because of that, I managed to run it at normal speed on my Atari ST via a DOS emulator. I wasn't allowed to use the computer during school days but my mum was out so I smuggled the computer out and played and got so darn addicted my mum walked in and gave me a hiding.
1 said Twitter user is the pixel artist Army of Trolls, he does great stuff like the Gamecity Poster edge gave out. Might be worth mentioning that in the post?
2 he's a massive MH and Nintendo fan and knows there's no L on Gameboys, but he makes a point that Nintendo would have released an addon to accommodate, just like the circle pad pro.
I have both DK1 and DK2 in really really good condition complete with boxes/manuals.
Trouble is, I left then in Baghdad in 2000 and our house has since been ransacked many times. They're probably with some GI Joe's children as we speak.
Just today I finished Rayman Jungle Run 100%, and of course Origins 100% a while ago, so was gutted to find out that Legends wasn't a launch game. At least this demo (hopefully it'll be available .eu) plus Mario will keep the platformer-itch at bay

Re: Kunitsu-Gami: Path Of The Goddess Celebrates 1st Anniversary With Free DLC
I bought it after reading the NL review and playing the demo.
It feels like one of those games that everyone should be playing and ranting about, but no one did.
Superb game.
Re: UK Retailer GAME Cancels A Bunch Of Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders
@Bentleyma just “in process.”
Re: UK Retailer GAME Cancels A Bunch Of Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders
I had to use Game because for some reason the Nintendo store codes to preorder were not arriving to my inbox on time, and Amazon didn’t select me.
They’ve charged my debit card and I don’t have an email saying it’s cancelled so I think it’s good.
I’ve never been let down by them before (pre and post Frasier group) so hopefully will be OK.
I’ve got another preordered from Argos (for my son) and that’s confirmed for release date so it’s all good.

Re: Nintendo Has Apparently Retired Its Gulf War Game Boy
@LikelySatan I don’t know what you mean. I saw the gameboy in New York Nintendo store in 2007.
I am Iraqi. I was in Baghdad in 1991 when the gulf war bombing happened and I saw first hand how awful it was, complete devastation.
I thought the 1991 bombing was called shock and awe but I got that wrong. It was definitely shocking and definitely awful.
Re: Nintendo Has Apparently Retired Its Gulf War Game Boy
@LikelySatan what work we guys laid?
Re: Nintendo Has Apparently Retired Its Gulf War Game Boy
I’m both luck and unlucky:
Lucky I saw it back on 2007.

Re: Shovel Knight Dig Launches On Switch In September
Best. News. Ever.
Re: Mini Review: ElecHead - Smart, Surprisingly Deep, And Very Satisfying
@sketchturner finished it today, 5 hours for 100% also. I loved every second.
I love the ending, not for how you get there, but for where it is. So cool.

@JugOfVoodoo none whatsoever. You walk and explore as slowly as you want, and you should. Most of the time you’re hunting for clues while barely moving.
Give it a spin.
Re: Backlog Club: Return Of The Obra Dinn - It All Comes Down To Socks In The End
@PerishSong Outer Wilds is amazing! Have you played the DLC? It’s even more so!
These kind of games have a new-ish name now: Metroidbrania. Where progress is gated by knowledge, rather than by missing abilities or closed doors.
Re: Backlog Club: Return Of The Obra Dinn - It All Comes Down To Socks In The End
@HolyGeez03 before I got the game, loads of reviews commented on socks and their importance, specifically in the sleeping quarters.
Like you, however, I finished the entire game without once looking at socks. Maybe we have different logic circuits to the rest of them

Re: Backlog Club: Return Of The Obra Dinn - It All Comes Down To Socks In The End
@MathGeekDave stick with it, it might feel overwhelming to begin with but all the solutions are there if you just take your time. It’s amazing.

I can’t be the only one to spot the nod to Zombie Nation’s Kernkraft 400 there? Damn, I’m old.
Re: Review: Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty - A So-So Remake Of A Legendary Game
I must admit, this is one Nintendolife review that I really, really disagree with. New ‘n’ Tasty is a brilliant remake IMO.

It’s a shame they don’t mention fixing this hard crash that happened to me at least 5 times throughout my playthrough

Re: Mutant Mudds Collection is Out Soon With a Nice 'Early Birds' Discount
I’m a massive, massive fan of both games, and this will be the third time I buy them and play them through to 100%, the first two runs on PC and 3DS.
Can’t wait!
Re: Prototype SNES PlayStation Found In The Wild, Unicorn And Big Foot Expected Next
@Damo nah, I didn't read it, I just saw the word fake and decided to come and comment rolls eyes
Of course I read it. I didn't really see any humour in the tweet tbh.
Out of interest, if this is the real deal, why is the top half so pristine, compared to the yellow bottom half?

Re: Renegade Kid Cranks Difficulty To Max In Mutant Mudds Super Challenge For Wii U & 3DS
Best news ever. I've played through the game on 3DS, PC and VITA without checkpoints and I love difficult 2D platformers. MM is sublime!
Re: Atlus Confirms Etrian Mystery Dungeon for Spring 2015 Release in North America
Judging by how hooked I am to the most remarkable Persona Q, there's no way I'd miss this, as long as it makes it out in the good ol' EU.
Re: Turns Out The GameCube Controller Adapter Won't Be Compatible With Other Wii U Software
Very disappointed.
After reading the news here yesterday, I went and preordered the game/adaptor combo and a controller from the Nintendo store.
Today, I've cancelled the order for both. I'll get the game by itself.
Would've been great to have the adaptor work with other games, was quite looking forward to it.

Re: There's a Day One Pikmin 3 Update Waiting For You
My son accidentally pressed cancel when the "do you want to enable spotpass" prompt came up, and now I can't find an optim anywhere to enable it.
Does anyone know how to do so?

Oh yes, yes, yes!
Just today I finished Rayman Jungle Run 100%, and of course Origins 100% a while ago, so was gutted to find out that Legends wasn't a launch game.
At least this demo (hopefully it'll be available .eu) plus Mario will keep the platformer-itch at bay
