Re: Paper Mario Producer Says "It's A Necessity" To Change The Combat System In Every Entry

Slain

@rallydefault I've been wondering about the same thing. It seems like there's a tonne of people who have written the game off who haven't even played it.
I was on the fence about buying it originally because of all the negitivity surrounding it but I'm glad now that I did because it's a great game and in my opinion it's up there with TTYD.
It seems to me that a lot of people are going to miss out on one of the best Paper Mario games so far because of the toxicity of the internet.

Re: Feature: Upcoming Nintendo Switch RPGs To Look Out For In 2020

I've already bought the LRG Ys Origins, although I'm expecting a long wait before I actually get it. I'm still waiting for my Panzer Dragoon Remake I bought from them back in March, but that's LRG for you. I 'm planning on getting the LRG physical version of the Grandia HD Collection when it's ready for sale this month too and Ys XI next year for sure.
Beside that, I might get BD 2, but I wasn't that keen on the first two games. If only the battle system was as good as Octopath Travellers then I probably would get it.

Re: Japanese Charts: Paper Mario Loses Out To Ghost Of Tsushima On Debut

I can't believe that I almost didn't buy Paper Mario The Origami King because of all the negitivity surrounding the game on the internet. It's an amazing, wonderful game and leaves Sticker Star for dead.
Bloody internet! This game does not deserve the negitivity it is getting.
I'm not aiming this at the Nintendolife community, on some other sites though, people are strait up bashing this game without having even played it.

Re: You Can Now Pre-Order The Amazing SEGA Astro City Mini

Slain

@Doktor-Mandrake yeah I'm tempted to buy one too but I'm saving for the PC Engine mini to add to my NES, SNES and MegaDrive minis.
What puts me off buying it, despite the fact that it is an excellent compilation of arcade games is that, the arcade controlletr set up looks too cramped and I'd probably end up playing it on my big screen TV anyway. Plus there's the cost of importing it.
And I'm like you with the mini consoles, I set them up but never end up playing them for long lol, just need a nostalgia hit I guess.
I would absolutely buy this though if it got released at my local EB Games though.

@Doktor-Mandrake hey man, it's all good. I'm a huge SEGA fan and grew up spending lots of time and money in the arcades back in the days when they were actually good. And yeah SEGA were one of the most prolific and best developers of arcade games back in the day. I was even lucky enough to have played Golden Axe: Revenge of Death Adder in an arcade.
Don't get me wrong, I really like what SEGA are offering here and would probably buy it if I had the spare cash. Heck, I've even thought about over the years buying some actual real old school arcade machines of my favourite arcade games. It just seems like this is a great compilation of games SEGA are putting out here and I reckon it would be great if I had the option to buy it on Switch like any ordinary game.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 18th)

I was on the fence about Paper Mario but I took the plunge and so far I am thoroughly enjoying it.
The controversial battle system is a lot better then I was expecting. Much more fun when you are actually playing it yourself as opposed to just watching videos of it.
Much better then Sticker Star ( haven't played Colour Splash ).
Happy I took the plunge.

Re: Random: Miss Nintendo Directs? Check Out This Crowd-Pleasing 'Nontendo Direct' Presentation

Slain

@TG16_IS_BAE yeah what you say is true and I understand the pandemic has slowed things down. I still believe it would be possible for them to do a Direct even if the games they showed were unfinished and still in development, a lot of game companies do that, often way to early I know. However, I know Nintendo like to show their games when they're closer to releasing them. It would still be nice though to know whats coming out for the year ahead and get a look at some early footage.

Re: Random: Miss Nintendo Directs? Check Out This Crowd-Pleasing 'Nontendo Direct' Presentation

Slain

@SpiritGun7 Okay my ideal Direct, and I"ll try to be realistic as to what I'd like to see for their next Direct.
I'd love to see either Breath of the Wild 2 or Metroid Prime 4 ready for holiday 2020. Both would be spectacular but I doubt Nintendo would do both so close together. Metroid probably needs a lot more time to cook so I can see Nintendo doing something Metroid related to tide us over untill its realese, espeially after the recent paper Mario tease. They said the were looking at remaking some of their older games after they released Links Awakening so Super Metroid or Metroid Fusion could happen.
Since they are building off of the Zelda BotW engine they could have BotW2 ready for this year.
Mario Kart 9 with characters from other IPs like they have done with Smash Bros. would be amazing. A kind of Super Smash Kart if you will.
Of course I'd like to see new entries for F-Zero, Kid Icarus, Pikmin, Kiby, Star Fox, Fire Emblem etc.
I'd like to see ports of Zelda Twilight Princess HD, Wind Waker HD and Skyward Sword HD, actually pretty much everything that was in the Nontendo Direct.
Persona 5 for 2020 along with Shin Megami Tensei V and Bayonetta 3.
I'd love see what Retro were doing before Metroid development.
Panzer Dragoon Zwie remake.
New third party stuff, not just ports.
Smash Bros. Character reveals ( I'd like Shantae, Master Chief and Doom Slayer)
Lol, a lot stuff I guess.

Re: Random: Miss Nintendo Directs? Check Out This Crowd-Pleasing 'Nontendo Direct' Presentation

@SpiritGun7 yeah I'm sure Nintendo has some really big games waiting to be announced in their next Direct. I really wish they would do one now as it's been a bit of a slow year 1st party wise and we all know they have got some big titles ready to announce, but it seems like they are waiting to build hype for around the holidays to steal some hype from XSX and PS5, wich both look like great sytems but might not have a lot games when they release. That would be a good opportunity for Nintendo to bring out their big guns.
I wouldnt be surprised to see a remake of Super Metroid personally.
Probably a good idea to ignore the other guy, he seems like an idiot.

Re: Tech Journalist Teases "Revolutionary" Scoop In Next Week's Famitsu, Possibly Concerning Sega

Anything SEGA related is interesting to me. A new console would be awesome but who would buy it?
SEGA released Saturn but gamers wanted playstation.
SEGA releaseg Dreamcast but gamers wanted playstation 2.
I have no doubt that no matter how good a new SEGA console might be, gamers will want playstation 5.
It's a damn tradgedy how they got edged out of the console market by the almighty grand high sony bloody playstation, a console thats 1st party IPs paled in comparison to SEGAs (go figure).

Dear sony fans, I am acutely aware of the SEGA/sony history. You don't need to tell me what happened, I've heard it all before.

Re: A Nintendo Direct In June Is Beginning To Seem Less And Less Likely

Slain

@Cosats @WiltonRoots @geo-shifter @CosmoXY Hey guys, I think you are being a tad unfair calling people stupid and childish because they are looking forward to a Nintendo Direct and feeling disappointed that there might not be one.
We all know the seriousness and difficulties of the current situation, and it is in times like these that people need something to look forward. Why insult people because of that?
Surely it can't be that hard for Nintendo to put together a video previewing their upcoming games, even if they can't confirm release dates, to bring a bit of joy into peoples lives during these difficult times.
This is a Nintendo sites for fans to enjoy their hobby, you don't need to be insulting.
