I wonder when they say remake if they're talking about the original game or The Sands of Time. I personally thought the last game, The Forgotten Sands, was the best.
@Einherjar yeah I think if any game needs a demo it's this one. Still, it doesn't really help when a lot of people are negitively criticising a game they haven't played. A demo would certainly fix that.
@rallydefault I've been wondering about the same thing. It seems like there's a tonne of people who have written the game off who haven't even played it. I was on the fence about buying it originally because of all the negitivity surrounding it but I'm glad now that I did because it's a great game and in my opinion it's up there with TTYD. It seems to me that a lot of people are going to miss out on one of the best Paper Mario games so far because of the toxicity of the internet.
@sanderev I don't get it either. I thought the game was excellent and the battles got no more boring than any other rpg out there. Not having to grind at all was a godsend.
I didn't encounter any glitches on my playthrough. Great game, one of the few games I've played recently that I felt like replaying again after completing.
Gah! Nintendo is so boring right now. It's been a really slow year for new 1st party games and we've been waiting for what seems like seventeen years for a Direct to see what's coming out and we get this, Pikmin bloody 3.
Even ports of the two Zelda games would have been more exciting then this. This silence from Nintendo is just plain annoying now.
I'm still waiting for LRG to ship my order from March. I have been tempted numerous time though to buy it digital while I'm waiting and this just makes it more tempting. I really hope we get a glimpse of the far superior Zwie sometime soon.
I've already bought the LRG Ys Origins, although I'm expecting a long wait before I actually get it. I'm still waiting for my Panzer Dragoon Remake I bought from them back in March, but that's LRG for you. I 'm planning on getting the LRG physical version of the Grandia HD Collection when it's ready for sale this month too and Ys XI next year for sure.
Beside that, I might get BD 2, but I wasn't that keen on the first two games. If only the battle system was as good as Octopath Travellers then I probably would get it.
Wow, really weird comments section. So many people bashing the game that haven't even played it. Played it. Beat it. Loved it. If anyones on the fence about this because Sticker Star sucked, all I can say is, this is miles better.
I can't believe that I almost didn't buy Paper Mario The Origami King because of all the negitivity surrounding the game on the internet. It's an amazing, wonderful game and leaves Sticker Star for dead.
Bloody internet! This game does not deserve the negitivity it is getting.
I'm not aiming this at the Nintendolife community, on some other sites though, people are strait up bashing this game without having even played it.
@Doktor-Mandrake yeah I'm tempted to buy one too but I'm saving for the PC Engine mini to add to my NES, SNES and MegaDrive minis.
What puts me off buying it, despite the fact that it is an excellent compilation of arcade games is that, the arcade controlletr set up looks too cramped and I'd probably end up playing it on my big screen TV anyway. Plus there's the cost of importing it.
And I'm like you with the mini consoles, I set them up but never end up playing them for long lol, just need a nostalgia hit I guess.
I would absolutely buy this though if it got released at my local EB Games though.
@Doktor-Mandrake hey man, it's all good. I'm a huge SEGA fan and grew up spending lots of time and money in the arcades back in the days when they were actually good. And yeah SEGA were one of the most prolific and best developers of arcade games back in the day. I was even lucky enough to have played Golden Axe: Revenge of Death Adder in an arcade. Don't get me wrong, I really like what SEGA are offering here and would probably buy it if I had the spare cash. Heck, I've even thought about over the years buying some actual real old school arcade machines of my favourite arcade games. It just seems like this is a great compilation of games SEGA are putting out here and I reckon it would be great if I had the option to buy it on Switch like any ordinary game.
I was on the fence about Paper Mario but I took the plunge and so far I am thoroughly enjoying it.
The controversial battle system is a lot better then I was expecting. Much more fun when you are actually playing it yourself as opposed to just watching videos of it.
Much better then Sticker Star ( haven't played Colour Splash ).
Happy I took the plunge.
Sign me up 100% for Grandia collection. I love those games.
I just ordered Ys Origin today and I'm still waiting for Panzer Dragoon Remake and Shantae and the Seven Sirens to be sent out. My wallet is taking some serious damage from LRG this year.
@TG16_IS_BAE yeah what you say is true and I understand the pandemic has slowed things down. I still believe it would be possible for them to do a Direct even if the games they showed were unfinished and still in development, a lot of game companies do that, often way to early I know. However, I know Nintendo like to show their games when they're closer to releasing them. It would still be nice though to know whats coming out for the year ahead and get a look at some early footage.
@SpiritGun7 Okay my ideal Direct, and I"ll try to be realistic as to what I'd like to see for their next Direct.
I'd love to see either Breath of the Wild 2 or Metroid Prime 4 ready for holiday 2020. Both would be spectacular but I doubt Nintendo would do both so close together. Metroid probably needs a lot more time to cook so I can see Nintendo doing something Metroid related to tide us over untill its realese, espeially after the recent paper Mario tease. They said the were looking at remaking some of their older games after they released Links Awakening so Super Metroid or Metroid Fusion could happen.
Since they are building off of the Zelda BotW engine they could have BotW2 ready for this year.
Mario Kart 9 with characters from other IPs like they have done with Smash Bros. would be amazing. A kind of Super Smash Kart if you will.
Of course I'd like to see new entries for F-Zero, Kid Icarus, Pikmin, Kiby, Star Fox, Fire Emblem etc.
I'd like to see ports of Zelda Twilight Princess HD, Wind Waker HD and Skyward Sword HD, actually pretty much everything that was in the Nontendo Direct.
Persona 5 for 2020 along with Shin Megami Tensei V and Bayonetta 3.
I'd love see what Retro were doing before Metroid development.
Panzer Dragoon Zwie remake.
New third party stuff, not just ports.
Smash Bros. Character reveals ( I'd like Shantae, Master Chief and Doom Slayer)
Lol, a lot stuff I guess.
@SpiritGun7 yeah I'm sure Nintendo has some really big games waiting to be announced in their next Direct. I really wish they would do one now as it's been a bit of a slow year 1st party wise and we all know they have got some big titles ready to announce, but it seems like they are waiting to build hype for around the holidays to steal some hype from XSX and PS5, wich both look like great sytems but might not have a lot games when they release. That would be a good opportunity for Nintendo to bring out their big guns. I wouldnt be surprised to see a remake of Super Metroid personally. Probably a good idea to ignore the other guy, he seems like an idiot.
@SpiritGun7 yeah they could easily put out a direct regardless of covid. My guess is that they are just keeping their cards close to their chest while they wait for XSX and PS5 to disclose their plans and when the hype for these new consoles dies down the they will do a Direct that's loaded with content ready for the holidays.
I was very disappointed in this Nontendo Direct. Why were there so few ports. Where was the new Zalda? Where was Mitroid 5? What about a new F U Zero or Kid Picarus? Get your act together Nontendo!
About damn time. Ys VIII is one of my favourite games of the last few years, I even managed to play through it twice regardless of a sizable backlog of games. I was starting worry we wouldnt be getting IX. 2021 seems so far away though.
@JR150 I'm not into Fortnite at all but my two sons are and they are always asking me if they can have v- bucks. I would'nt mind so much if it were better value for money.
Holy crap! I grew up on this game, love it so much. Man, with Dragons Trap remake, Monsterboy, Panzer Dragoon remake, Streets of Rage 4 and now this, it's a great time to be an old school SEGA fan. Please gods, let there be a physical release.
Shantae of course. And a little Animal Crossing too. Maybe sone SoR4. Next week I'll start Xenoblade though I need to try and finish Trials of Mana first so I'll probably end up playing that this weekend too.
It had better bloody come to Switch because it looks frikkin awesome. Digging the action style of the combat, it looks similar to Trials of Mana and that game is a joy to play. I think I would prefer that then the turn based battles of DQ XI.
Anything SEGA related is interesting to me. A new console would be awesome but who would buy it? SEGA released Saturn but gamers wanted playstation. SEGA releaseg Dreamcast but gamers wanted playstation 2. I have no doubt that no matter how good a new SEGA console might be, gamers will want playstation 5. It's a damn tradgedy how they got edged out of the console market by the almighty grand high sony bloody playstation, a console thats 1st party IPs paled in comparison to SEGAs (go figure).
Dear sony fans, I am acutely aware of the SEGA/sony history. You don't need to tell me what happened, I've heard it all before.
Unless of course Nintendo are waiting to announce the game for Switch themselves via their next Direct. It's happene before with other releases. Yeah it's probably just wishful thinking on my part though.
@Cosats @WiltonRoots @geo-shifter @CosmoXY Hey guys, I think you are being a tad unfair calling people stupid and childish because they are looking forward to a Nintendo Direct and feeling disappointed that there might not be one. We all know the seriousness and difficulties of the current situation, and it is in times like these that people need something to look forward. Why insult people because of that? Surely it can't be that hard for Nintendo to put together a video previewing their upcoming games, even if they can't confirm release dates, to bring a bit of joy into peoples lives during these difficult times. This is a Nintendo sites for fans to enjoy their hobby, you don't need to be insulting.

This is getting beyond a joke now. Nintendo are really starting to push their fans buttons. Surely they can't be this clueless.
Re: Listing For Prince Of Persia Remake On Nintendo Switch Appears Online
@BulkSlash yeah, the game was excellent. I played through it several times. Great end boss.

I wonder when they say remake if they're talking about the original game or The Sands of Time. I personally thought the last game, The Forgotten Sands, was the best.

Already pe-orderded from LRG. I'll probably get it next century.
Not sure yet which cover I like best but I'm stuck with the LRG one I guess.

@Einherjar True.
Re: Paper Mario Producer Says "It's A Necessity" To Change The Combat System In Every Entry
@Einherjar yeah I think if any game needs a demo it's this one. Still, it doesn't really help when a lot of people are negitively criticising a game they haven't played. A demo would certainly fix that.

Re: Paper Mario Producer Says "It's A Necessity" To Change The Combat System In Every Entry
@DoktorTotenKopf I actually enjoyed the battle system.
How far through the game did you get, if you don't mind me asking?
Re: Paper Mario: The Origami King Version 1.0.1 Now Available - Fixes Game-Breaking Bug And Multiple Other Issues
I didn't encounter any glitches on my playthrough. Great game, one of the few games I've played recently that I felt like replaying again after completing.
Re: This Newly Discovered POW Block Bug Freezes Paper Mario: The Origami King
There's also this weird glitch that caused lots of people who hadn't played the game to write it of as crap.

@FragRed it does seem that way with SEGA.
Re: You Can Now Pre-Order The Amazing SEGA Astro City Mini
How about you just make this a compilation on cart SEGA? That would be more convenient the plugging a miniture arcade machine into my TV.

Day one! So great to see Revenge if Death Adder on there.
@chiptoon Love Altered Beast. It's one of the few games I wish SEGA would make a decent sequel to.

@JordonAM 20 bucks max for one item is still an overpriced rip-off even if other companies charge worse prices. Lets not defend this bs here.

It looks like a better game then Fortnite. I wonder if like Fortnite they will charge absolutely ridiculous rip-off prices for new skins/gear.
