@bro2dragons you can download them both as DLC for $20 apiece I believe if you buy one of the versions. So if you buy Birthright, you can get Conquest for $20 as a download and Revelations is I believe $20 regardless of which version you get.
That trailer ground my gears in a number of ways. The Pidgey using gust on Brock's Onyx, managing to put an Abra to sleep and catch it with a Pokéball with ease, hitting all 3 of the Legendary Birds with STAB super-effective moves AND calling Red Ash (lol unintentionally referenced Inafune).
I'm glad he confirmed that Nintendo aren't going to be bought by another company anytime soon. I mean, the dozens and dozens of warning signs and the plethora of companies that have been quoted recently saying that they can buy out Nintendo if they wanted to made me think for a second or two. I couldn't think of any obvious obstacles to such a situation occurring either so it's definitely something that needed this expert knowledge.
Thank God this is (nearly) all over, and thank God it ended this way. Hopefully now there can be more important articles and discussions that can be had here, it says something about how tiresome and repetitive this 'issue' has gone that I'd gladly listen to the whining of F-Zero and Metroid fans about how Nintendo has lost their way by not focusing on those series of games. At least those complaints are somewhat understandable. Heck, even the comments from the guy with the Outset Island Toon Link avatar about 'Scamiibo' and the guy with the Zekrom avatar about how Nintendo are crap just because he doesn't like 2D platformers are more insightful and engaging than this rubbish.
@Xenocity well I wouldn't go into that much detail myself, I'm just pointing out what I thought was obvious that 70-80% (maybe even more) of games released each and every year are crap. Yet heaven forbid Nintendo releasing garbage Mario Tenis, Chibi-Robo, amiibo games in one year. How dare they be the ones to release bad games!? I mean look at the outstanding quality right out of the door of Driveclub, LBP3 & The Order 1886. But nope exempt from criticism because 'BloodboreBloodborneBloodboreBloodborneBloo'.....
@Yellowkoopa most of the games released last year were either okay or mediocre period. Unless I missed a company that released 15-20 fantastic games last year? Thought not. Seriously I don't get this attitude that unless Nintendo release F-Zero whatever, Prime 4 and Zelda U in one year, they're automatically 'terrible'. Who made you the arbiter of videogame companies and the quality of them?
@BlueNitrous well you can enter into a homosexual relationship. That's undeniably progress, especially from the Tomodatchi Life debacle a couple of years ago.
We definitely need these to be able to co-exist with Nintendo's evergreen heavy hitters that are universally recognised as the best in the industry. Splatoon was a roaring success, so I'm very confident in what the future holds.
@DarkmarkUnited considering that out of the handful of games that I mentioned included what some might say are a couple of the best games ever made, or at least in their genre... I really don't get what you're saying. Apart from the Shadow the Hedgehog thing, that game gets too much hate, it's a laugh and a half to say the least.
@Mario-Man-Child I've probably already played those though (Sunshine, Wind Waker, Melee, Double Dash, Pikmin & Pikmin 2, Metroid Prime & 2 Echoes, Path of Radinace etc). Should have been more clear there.
I'd buy a GameCube remaster or two. Missed out on a couple of great games like Luigi's Mansion and Eternal Darkness, would buy them if they were remastered in HD. Can't say there's any particular rules or regulations that need to be followed though in regards to which games are remastered and how, pretty much every other company bar Nintendo has remastered a game from the last gen already, some have done several with at least one being done only a year after its original release (The Last of Us). So keep 'em coming Nintendo I guess.
@Kirk I'd be willing to take that bet that Star Fox Zero will be better received than the TMNT game. I'd be willing to take it because it's pretty much certain to happen, from the way I see things. Using the oh-so-reliable Metacritic as a basis? You're on in that case.
@BulkSlash no one is forcing you to do anything dude. Unless they are? I don't know anything about you so that might actually be possible. Not Nintendo though, or any company for that matter. How can they actually 'force' you, bar them being Jedi or pointing a gun to your head?
'While you're at it try asking for Mario and Zelda too'
Gotta love the guy for that alone, not even mentioning his great career. Good on him for not caving in to the whiny entititled 'loyal gamers' who felt too ashamed to purchase a Wii U but not too ashamed to whine about it on Twitter and swear a lot. Because they aren't normal people.
@Xenocity yeah don't get me wrong I absolutely do not want Platinum to go the way of EA or Ubisoft, but at the same time it's undoubtably a problem that even when backed by Activision and using a very well known franchise AND selling it for £10 below the usual going rate on all systems, Platinum could only get into the top 30 I think on the week of release for Transformers Devastation in the UK. Sure Activision barley marketed it and even Platinum didn't dedicate their best people to make it, but even for a company of their size things like this are worrying. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Nier and Scalebound get nowhere near 1 million sales, despite the install bases of those systems, with ironically one of Platinum's best selling exclusives being Bayonetta 2. The mainstream audience just ain't interested, and that's a shame, because they're the ones missing out.
@CTMike yeah I mean it's great as a proud English dude to be able to explore this beautiful rendition of London, and some of the stealth sections and platforming is fun, but compared to Platinum's Bayonetta or even Clover Studios before them with Okami and Viewtiful Joe, it's hard to take that this is as complex as a game is allowed to be by these big budget companies, an attack button, a counter button and a 'break blocking' button and that's it for not only AC but a few other AAA 'action adventure' games too. In an ideal world consumers would have better taste and demand more from these companies, but with the way it is the pressure is on Platinum to attract newcomers, and the market shows the best way to do so is to cut down on gameplay and focus on graphics, which is very concerning.
They need to diversify the gameplay in their games if they want to make it big. As a big fan of theirs, it's hard to see their games constantly fail to get the attention they deserve, but combo-heavy actions games are just not going to be big like that, look at something like Assassin's Creed where everything is so streamlined it almost feels insulting to the players' interactivity that they can climb Big Ben by only pressing 'X' 7 or 8 times. It is great that Platinum's games are the opposite of this, but it isn't what mainstream audiences want. Hope they can break it big, but will Nier on PS4 or Scalebound on Xbox One be the games to do so? I doubt it personally.
@Adamario I said something similar a while back. Amazed that they don't understand this most basic of concepts. Petting pets and petting people. One of those is not normal, hence this 'debacle'.
Well now that it is confirmed(?) for Europe, I am happy. Played the fan translated version last year, it's a fantastic game IMO. Better than Earthbound, I'll happily pay for it and play it a second time.
@Xenocity b-but the Wii was only shovelware and kiddie Nintendo games and true hardcore gamers have to hate it with the firery passion of a thousand suns. It was also fun for people other than stereotypical gamers and so there's no way true gamers can like it. @diwdiws no I'm saying they've temporarily become a laughing stock by choosing to disclose how their 'customer satisfaction' is instead of being open about how they totally screwed the Xbox One's launch and have messed up big time. Instead of disclosing the number of active Live members in their next 'financial' earnings disclosure they may instead chose to tell us how many times the 'A' button was pressed across all active Xbox One users and try to make a positive spin on that. Anything but being honest and open, becusse those two words should never be used to describe vile, scumbag corporate beasts like Microsoft.
Of course you'll eat it up regardless, being the pro-consumption individual you clearly are.
@retro_player_22 there's not a snowman's chance in hell of that happening and I'd don't even know why you'd even think that would happen in the first place. If MPFF bothers you I dunno ignore it maybe? I ain't a Metroid fan (though I suppose they're the ones most against it lol) so I am not interested. Plenty else to ponder over in the 3DS line-up.
@diwdiws meanwhile Microsoft continue to hide their sales figures behind the most embarrassing smoke and mirrors tactics a company has done in a long, long time and Sony are too concerned in trying to trademark popular phrases to give a damn about anything, especially their shoddy online infrastructure and their embarrassment of a handheld console the PS Vita.
There are so many figures here that prove the deluded idiots that infest this site so, so wrong about many of their brilliant points. Congrats to Nintendo for when they will (soon enough) become the first 1st (lol) party developer to release an exclusive new IP that surpasses 5 million units sold this gen. Not.
I've also just edited my own comment because I was unhappy with the quality of it and thought I had to change and remove a couple of words to make it a better peice overall. Sound familiar?
@Tuulenpoika can I be the one to inform you that this isn't censorship (and anyone else claiming that)? This didn't go so far as being erotic, this is simply a matter of a company changing their own work because it was weird and wrong in their opinion, which is of course the only one that matters since it's their product. That is what is known as 'editing'. There's a big difference, and individuals and companies edit their work all the time. Ever made a video on YouTube and decided part of it was wrong so cut it from the rest? Exact same principle. Glad to inform you and others, no need to thank me
@AlexSora89 few things 'need' to happen in videogames. Nintendo simply looked at that and thought "err.... No. That's weird, don't want that sort of stuff in a Fire Emblem game-get out the axe Bill!" It's their videogame that they're publishing with their money and for us to decide what is and is not needed is to elevate ourselves above our position which is to just decide if the final product is worth the money. People who object will obviously not buy it and that's all they can do- let the rest of us have our fun with this SRPG game.
@EdJericho I'm available if you want to convince me why rubbing my characters faces is worth my time
To save you time I'd advise against you doing so, because I wouldn't even try it for more than 5 minutes if you paid me as much as the game costs. Which, because of greedy evil modern Nintendo is a significant amount for the limited edition!
So this detective Pikachu speaks? That's a first as far as I'm aware (baring things like Mystery Dungeon). I wonder who will be the voice actor for the English version? As for the game, I do get Professor Layton vibes from it, which is a good thing.

Re: Detective Pikachu Trailer is Revealed, Arrives as a Download in Japan on 3rd February
