Seeing as there is still no evidence as to NX specifically NOT being cross-platform, I'm begining to wonder if this potential cross-plat uses cartriges, and MovieBob was actually right the whole time.
Opinion seems divisive here. For me, this is VERY tempting. I love the idea of a standalone (doesn't need a wiimote) gamecube-style controller that works with >1 Wii U game, and $30 seems like a great deal. There are, however, three (EDIT: 2) more criteria I need to garuntee a purchase:
1) The build must be high-quality.
2) It needs pressable triggers (R3 and L3)
A wired option would be amazing as that and the above things would make this my "tournament" controller.
Nintendo needs to state whether or not Nintendo products purchased/hours played in between the two reward systems will count for the new one, because my family has already spent a lot of money on Nintendo stuff during that period.
Link to the surveyor's methods: http://www.pewinternet.org/2015/10/29/device-ownership-2015-methods/ They do a nice job, there definitely may be some bias, especially in wording, but it does do a good job of highlighting how gamers are definitely not mostly just white males, and that many different groups play video games. They are definitely not just manipulating data.
I really hope that games we bought after Club Nintendo's closing can be registered for points on this new system. I have gotten around $250 worth of Nintendo stuff since then.
One theory I have is that the NX will be a "pay what you want" hybrid console. Basically, the "handheld" and the "console" part of the NX are sold separately, and add-ons are available for each devoce to turn it into the hybrid, or it can be bought as a complete bundle for a little less than if it was bought separately. This would also go along with the idea of an optional disk drive.
NSMBU at 1%? I never really got why people complained there were too many "new" super mario bros games. Theres only 4. The only one I didnt like was NSMB 2, but it was still fun. If it had a unique soundtrack, an actual reward for 1,000,000 coins, and difficulty, it would be much better. Anyway, NSMBU takes the cake for me because of the DLC. Why not SMW?...I just prefer the former. Same reason a lot of people chose SMW.
So wait, on the image for this article on the homepage there is a player playing the game with the wii remote and another playing with a classic controller connected to said wii remote...can you actually do that? If so, why dont other games let you do that?
I guess its progress, but I feel like there is some sort of ulterior motive. Like they are only doing this so that if they release actual Minecraft at the end of the Wii Us lifespan people will want it so bad they will buy it even if its a lazy, crappy build.
@DarthNocturnal "it seems that most/ all of the time, if the "sex appeal" card is played, it's because you have a bad hand. Or no hand." I mostly agree with what you have said. I've seen really great videogames, etc. with sex appeal...but this game does not look like one of them. It seems pretty clear that he doesn't actullay want a "motive", but more an excuse.
At any rate, he probably has at least one hand...( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
@Sonic9009 I think so too, as his chaos control could make for some interesting moves. Also, when Sakuri said "several", how much does that actually mean? To me that means 5-7, but I don't want to get my hopes up too much. Maybe it's a mistranslation?
I always thought it was funny that simply by buying Mojang and doing nothing Microsoft decreased sales potential for Minecraft after everyone lost hope and started making (and funding) clones. Now unless if they release Minecraft of the eShop right now, no one will get it because they already have the clone.
For those hoping it's a new F-Zero, just remember that Miyamoto said that he wanted the next entry to utilize pressure triggers like GX did. In that sense, a GX remake is very improbable because of reasons already listed. An F-Zero X remake for 3ds IMO seems pretty likely.
I have never played Castlevania before, but would'nt the "clans" and being able to chose one or the other suggest you can choose between both at some point in the game?
As a "competitive" Mario Kart player, I have embraced 200cc with open arms. Something better than Neo Bowser City could be used, but it's still way better than the 3ds version. I will be putting many more hours into this game.
Wow, i hope everyone at NL isn't that bad at 200cc, i could rek them all. Im sure lots have already said this, but it you hold the drift and accelerate button, then press brake while holding down the other two buttons you will slow down and keep the drift, as lonf as you dont slow down too much. I found this makes it much easier. Nevertheless this gamw is now constantly putting me on edge, and having to brake really improves the metagame. I see competitive Mario Kart being more likely than it used to.
Ooooh, DLC stages (maybe). I would like another Earthbound stage (New Pork City would be good 8 player smash material, but a new one is okay too), a pokemon stage (either ORAS themed or spear pillar, my favorite Brawl stage), Flat Zone 3, Fountain of Dreams, Hanenbow (great for 8 player smash), an excitebike stage (no flying sections, but random elements like MK8), and a LoZ stage based on a 3ds release.
Im guessing/hoping Mewtwo and the miiverse stage will be available post-stream, but at least news on it i can count on. also counting on some MK8 DLC footage, splatoon release, and more Mario Maker footage (so hyped for that one), as well as stuff on Wolly World, Wii rereleases, Zelda U, and Xenoblade. Im going out on a limb and predicting a 3d F Zero X remake, and for April fools, a fake cross platform melee remake (i would alternate between laughing and crying).

Re: Pikmin 4 is "Very Close to Completion", Though Its Platform is Unclear
An NX launch title would make sense, maybe it would be good for showing off its capabilities.
Anyway, I thought Lucas came out of nowhere...

Its a good game, but overall the level design is lacking. This game could really use a sequel/remake/remaster.

I forgot about Bit Trip Saga. I'm pretty excited about it now (I really shouldn't though, I still have to beat FE:A and Dream Team).

I would be more excited but the last hour for testing is the only one I have a chance at playing because of stuff going on.
